PetaRush, the pioneer of the world’s first multi-IP blockchain game, ran like clockwork. The game’s NFTs were released for public sale on Gate.io on November 5, and the first batch of 700 NFTs sold out within three days. Prior to the public sale, PetaRush initially released 300 NFT whitelist contingents, which sold out in less than a day. PetaRush also held a raffle in the Discord community and gave away iPad prizes to thank early holders. PetaRush continues to host exclusive events for NFT holders in the community, which were enthusiastically received by players and gave the bear market a rare boost.

Unlike the usual GameFi, PetaRush is a mobile animal racing game and has collaborated with PhantaBear and Demi-Human NFT, two blue-chip NFT projects, so that the IPs of the various NFT projects can be converted into 3D and battle with other IP characters in PetaRush. In the game, players transform into cyberpunk-style animal characters and immerse themselves in a sci-fi setting where they compete against their opponents on Mars.

PetaRush’s gameplay is similar to the classic Mario Kart. Players do not have to determine the direction of the run, but only strategically use the skills to reduce physical consumption, increase running speed and disrupt opponents to win the championship

PetaRush NFT can be used in games and gives players rewards when they win games, also there is a cultivation mechanism in the game. After being cultivated, NFTs can get higher values in the game and increase the probability of winning. In addition, players can bring the cultivated NFTs to the marketplace and resell them to other players, so the NFTs they own can not only be used in the game but also increase in value. All of these innovative features have been successfully integrated into PetaRush NFT.

The PetaRush game offers players two ways to earn. The first is the “Winner Takes All”, where players must win the championship in the race to receive the token reward; the second is the “Prize for All”, where the bonus depends on ranking, the first place can get the most tokens, but the player who finishes last can also get some tokens as a consolation prize.

If players want to experience win-to-earn, players must hold approximately $65 worth of PetaRush NFTs and pay approximately $1 worth of PT tickets to qualify. Players must carefully match the skills, consider strategies, and even cultivate the stats of the game character NFT to outperform their opponents and win the championship bonus.

The core win-to-earn design makes it difficult for some GameFi players to destroy the game’s tokenomic system; and players who seriously participate in the game can achieve a higher winning rate and receive rewards. PetaRush has reversed the negative Ponzi impression given by play-to-earn blockchain games and built a coreplay around the win-to-earn model.

Although PetaRush is a blockchain game, it is also free for all players. Any player can successfully participate in the game even if they do not have an NFT. However, without NFT, they cannot participate in the win-to-earn games. Both GameFi players and regular players can enjoy PetaRush through the various options in this game.

PetaRush recently completed its first closed beta phase, and the easily accessible mobile game mode has already delighted thousands of players worldwide. The second closed beta test, which will take place later this month, will open up the win-to-earn gameplay option to PetaRush NFT holders. The information of the second closed beta test will be released in PetaRush Discord.

DHL: Shifting trends for air freight as the holiday season approaches

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 9 November 2022 – The DHL Air Freight State of the Industry report is now available. Below are highlights of the latest developments of the global air freight market in this monthly analysis by DHL Global Forwarding.

  • During the pre-pandemic years, the period starting from October towards the end of the year would see a burgeoning surge of air cargo demand and rates due to the approaching holiday season. However, the air freight front in October 2022 shows almost no signs of a fourth quarter cargo surge. Certainly, the belief that 2022 would see the normalization of trading patterns after two years of Covid-19 disruption looks premature.
  • Demand outlook – The global average inflation rate for 2022 is expected to be around nine percent. In fact, the soaring inflation is forecasted to last well into 2023, with “reduced purchasing power likely to create lesser demand/volumes“.
  • Presently, the global demand outlook is deteriorating. For example, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in September 2022 fell 25 percent as compared to 2021. Despite low volumes in demand globally, trans-Atlantic air trade volumes remain comparatively stronger than most markets, which is a positive sign from a global perspective.
  • Rates – There has been a substantial fall in rate levels as shippers shift mode of transport from air shipments to ocean freight as the reliability of vessel schedule continues to improve.
  • Lockdowns will continue to impact supply chains in China, with. The latest restrictions hit key manufacturing hubs in Ningbo, Shanghai and Tianjin, with Ningbo in particularly affected during October.
  • The outlook from key markets is also less than inspiring for air freight stakeholders. Nomura expects the Europe area, which is suffering from surging energy prices, to be in recession from Q4 2022 until the end of 2023. The analyst firm also forecasts that a U.S. recession will begin this quarter.
  • Capacity – Global overall capacity is up by 18 percent for October 2022 versus 2021, while PAX capacity sees a 23 percent year-on-year increase, will continue to improve due to high travel demand. “In Asia, we’re now seeing Cathay ramping up its flights and we’re expecting fewer space constraints out of China following Golden Week,” said Kelvin Leung, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific

Kearney Opens Manila Office to Capture Growth Opportunities in the Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Media OutReach – 9 November 2022 – Global management consulting firm Kearney announces the opening of its Philippines office in Manila as part of the firm’s next stage of growth in Southeast Asia. Driven by client demand, the Manila office will enable Kearney to capture the growth opportunities and strengthen its commitment to the market.

This expansion is built upon Kearney’s close working relationship with clients in the Philippines since the 2010s, as well as its heritage as the original strategic operations and transformation firm. Over the years, particularly during the pandemic, Kearney has helped companies in sectors such as Communication, Media & Tech, Financial Services, Health and more to enhance their resilience in an evolving business landscape.

Kearney is planning to grow its team in the next few quarters by hiring more local talent, who will be supported by a bench of experts in the region, particularly in the areas of procurement, operations, and supply chain.

“Our Philippines business portfolio has grown steadily in the past few years. While the pandemic and recent geopolitical and economic uncertainties have created a challenging environment for businesses, they see the value that a third-party consultant brings to the table in helping them uncover and capture untapped opportunities through transformation,” said Marco de la Rosa, Partner, Philippines Country Head at Kearney.

The Philippines economy is poised for growth in the short to medium term. According to the Asian Development Bank’s latest forecast, the Philippines leads all Southeast Asian countries in its 2022 GDP growth at 6.5%, tying with Vietnam, and continues to see strong growth momentum in 2023 with GDP forecast to grow at 6.3%[1].

“We believe the future is bright for the Philippines market,” Marco added. “As we look to 2023—even as organizations are being more prudent given macroeconomic conditions—we expect to see Philippine corporates grow into adjacencies and accelerate their entry into the digital economy; more Philippine tech companies playing at a regional or even global level; and the government investing more in the requisite infrastructure and talent to enable this. These factors, together with the Philippines’ recent trajectory and strong fundamentals, make us incredibly bullish about the road ahead.”

“Southeast Asia remains an engine of growth in Asia and countries like the Philippines have risen as a compelling alternative for global supply chains against recent geopolitical headwinds and disruptions,” said Nithin Chandra, Managing Partner, Southeast Asia at Kearney. “We see enormous potential in the region, and are committed to leveraging our deep local knowledge and extensive regional network to grow together with our clients.”

36% of women in Australia felt marginalised in the workplace because of gender: Michael Page

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Media OutReach – 9 November 2022 – Almost two out of five women in Australia have indicated that they felt marginalised or discriminated against in the workplace because of their gender. This is supported by Australia being ranked the least safe place to work in for women (35%) in the Asia Pacific average, followed by India (25%) and then Taiwan (23%).

Senior Managing Director of Michael Page Australia, Sharmini Wainwright

Senior Managing Director of Michael Page Australia, Sharmini Wainwright

According to the latest research from Michael Page Australia, the Talent Trends Report 2022 titled “Company Culturewhich features sentiment to prominent employee workplace insights, culture needs to be readily adaptable to change. The results in this report draw from a survey with a broad and diverse audience, with responses from over 17,000 respondents across Asia Pacific.

Senior Managing Director of Michael Page Australia, Sharmini Wainwright says, “This is the time for companies to put their complacency aside and listen to what is really affecting their employees at work. Evidence in our data points towards a crucial time for company culture. With the workforce returning post-pandemic, employers need to acknowledge and act on the cultural transformation which has led to mindset shifts around work, life priorities and mental well-being. Remember that culture needs monitoring and adjusting over time, how business leaders manage this will impact their commercial success as an organisation.”

This shows that Australia has to work on having more of a ‘People-first Company Culture’. Having such a culture is associated with happier employees, higher productivity and reduced turnover.

The report also shows that females in Australia want equal rights at work with a significant 60% of respondents feeling that it is important to place more effort on getting women into leadership positions. The report states that the more employees feel empowered, the more productivity levels go up.

DE&I is seen as a proxy for people, with men, generally perceived by many to be the least directly affected by DE&I policies, placing significant value in this area too. What this potentially indicates is that DE&I is not simply evaluated from the impact it has on previously or currently marginalised groups but has become a benchmark for how committed a company is to their Culture, Purpose, Values and general attitude towards the well-being of their employees. To support this, 33% of research respondents in Australia would stop an job interview process if there was a lack of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) commitment.

In addition to the findings, Australians who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community do not feel comfortable being their authentic selves at work. 35% of respondents said they work with colleagues who are homophobic or transphobic, while 2 out of 5 believe they would have more success in their careers if they identified as straight and/or cis gender. 63% of employees in Australia believe that more should be done in their workplace to promote acceptance and equality for LGBTQIA+ people.
