The meeting was also attended by Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services Geraldo Alckmin and Chief of Staff Rui Costa.

During the meeting, President Lula extended his congratulations to XCMG for its remarkable achievements after more than a decade of development in Brazil. He highly commended XCMG’s contributions to advancing industrial upgrading, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, and driving digital transformation. The president also praised the steady growth of XCMG’s local financial services and expressed strong expectations for the establishment of an XCMG research institute in Brazil.

Terumo Interventional Systems Announces Its New OPUSWAVE® Dual Sensor Imaging System and DualView® Imaging Catheter Receive FDA 510(k) Clearance

  • OPUSWAVE Imaging System combines OFDI and IVUS into a single catheter, providing significant potential to reduce procedural time and costs in treating coronary artery disease
  • DualView imaging catheter offers a 150mm maximum pullback length, a 2.6 Fr. imaging profile, 6 Fr. guide compatibility and a variable pullback speed of up to 40mm/second in dual mode

SOMERSET, N.J., Oct. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS), a division of Terumo Corporation, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its OPUSWAVE® Dual Sensor Imaging System. The OPUSWAVE Imaging System features the DualView® imaging catheter, which also received FDA 510(k) clearance. The OPUSWAVE Imaging System combines Optical Frequency Domain Imaging (OFDI) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to enable simultaneous views, offering physicians the ability to comprehensively evaluate coronary artery disease (CAD). While this marks Terumo’s imaging debut in the US market, the company is already a recognized leader in the single modality imaging space in Japan, where adoption of imaging in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures is the highest in the world.

“Importantly, the OPUSWAVE Imaging System allows physicians to maximize imaging efficiency without sacrificing quality when it comes to creating treatment plans to achieve the best outcomes for their patients,” said Ghada Farah, President, Terumo Interventional Systems. “By combining the advanced imaging capabilities of OFDI and IVUS into a single catheter, the OPUSWAVE Imaging System also creates a strong opportunity to shorten procedural time and costs in treating CAD.”

What makes the OPUSWAVE Imaging System unique is the DualView imaging catheter, which offers a 150mm maximum pullback length. It also has a 2.6 Fr. imaging profile, 6 Fr. guide compatibility, advanced hydrophilic coating, and a variable pullback speed of up to 40mm/second in dual mode.

“The OPUSWAVE Imaging System is an ideal technology for interventional cardiologists who perform image-guided PCI,” said Michael J. Martinelli, MD, FACC, FSCAI and Chief Medical Officer, Terumo Medical Corporation. “This innovative imaging system provides the opportunity for physicians to take advantage of the benefits of both OFDI and IVUS in the assessment and treatment of any lesion morphology. Instead of having to commit to one imaging tool, they now have the flexibility to access both imaging modalities with a single catheter.”

Shanghai Electric Signs Parau Phase II 342 MW PV Project with Econergy, Supporting Romania’s Green Future

As Shanghai Electric’s fourth photovoltaic project in Romania, this initiative marks a major step forward for the country’s clean energy sector.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Shanghai Electric (SEHK: 2727, SSE: 601727) celebrated a major milestone on October 1 with the signing of the second phase of the 342 MW photovoltaic (PV) general contracting project (the “Project”) in Parau, Romania, with Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd. (“Econergy”). Once completed, the project is expected to supply clean electricity to both residential and commercial users, underscoring Shanghai Electric’s steadfast commitment to advancing green energy development across Central and Eastern Europe.

“Shanghai Electric will continue to harness its technological strengths in wind power, photovoltaics, and energy storage to drive the region’s green transition,” said Mr. Wu Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group. “Building on our successfully completed projects in Romania, we aim to further strengthen our presence across Central and Eastern Europe and deliver tailored solutions that accelerate Romania’s energy transformation.”

The Project also represents a key component of Econergy’s strategic expansion across Romania and the wider Central and Eastern European region. According to Andrea Loi, Vice President of Operations at Econergy, “Our decision to partner with Shanghai Electric reflects our full confidence in its technical expertise, project execution capabilities, and extensive international experience. We look forward to close cooperation between our teams to ensure the smooth progress and successful commissioning of this landmark project.”

The Parau Phase 2 project is Shanghai Electric’s fourth photovoltaic initiative in Romania, building upon the company’s established track record in the country’s renewable energy sector. This follows the successful commissioning of the Parau Phase I 91.4 MW PV project, which was also executed by Shanghai Electric under an EPC contract. The Phase I project received its Provisional Acceptance Certificate from the client in November 2024 and now supplies green electricity to approximately 70,000 households, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 6,800 tons annually. Shanghai Electric’s Romanian portfolio further includes the Schultu 56 MW PV Project, which achieved provisional acceptance in June of this year and has now entered its two-year warranty and operation period, while the Ovidi’s 60 MW PV EPC project, contracted in January, is currently under construction.

As of October 2025, Shanghai Electric’s projects in Romania have a combined capacity of approximately 550 MW, providing sustained momentum for the nation’s long-term clean energy development.

On the same day as the signing of the Parau Phase II 342 MW PV project, Mr. Wu Lei held separate meetings with Chinese Ambassador to Romania Chen Feng and Istvan-Lorant Antal, Chairman of the Romanian Energy Committee. “Romania is actively advancing its energy structure transformation, primarily in the areas of photovoltaics, energy storage, gas turbines, and power transmission and distribution. We’re looking forward to deepening cooperation with outstanding enterprises like Shanghai Electric to jointly develop renewable energy projects,” said Istvan-Lorant Antal.

Mr. Wu Lei also conducted high-level talks with executives from Austria’s OMV Group to explore new cooperation opportunities in the region’s energy sector, further strengthening Shanghai Electric’s pivotal role in Romania’s renewable energy transition.

SINGAPORE HOSTED THE 5TH COUNTER RANSOMWARE INITIATIVE SUMMIT

CRI members endorsed the use of a “Guidance for Organisations to Build Supply Chain Resilience Against Ransomware”

SINGAPORE, Oct. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Singapore hosted the 5th International Counter Ransomware Initiative (CRI) Summit on 24 October 2025 at Marina Bay Sands, in conjunction with the Singapore International Cyber Week 2025 organised by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). The 5th CRI Summit brought together nearly 150 international representatives from 60 countries, international organisations and private sector entities, reflecting strong global cooperation in the fight against ransomware. This is the first time the Summit is held outside the United States of America (US). Singapore together with Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom (UK), and the US co-chairs the CRI.

Established in 2021, the CRI, comprising 74 member countries and international organisations, is the only multilateral platform dedicated to fostering international collaboration to combat ransomware threats. Of note, this is the first time private sector entities, including Ensign InfoSecurity, participated in the CRI summit, underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships in innovating solutions and strengthening resilience to effectively combat ransomware threats.

Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information, and Minister-in-charge of Cybersecurity and Smart Nation Group, delivered her remarks at the 5th CRI Summit, and said “the CRI represents our collective resolve against the global scourge of ransomware. Singapore is committed to supporting these efforts at the CRI. No country, no matter their capabilities or experience, can combat this wicked problem effectively by going it alone”. She added that it was decided early that membership that was not a matter of ideology. Rather, the CRI would welcome any country prepared to hold ransomware actors accountable and deny them safe harbour.

At the Summit, members engaged in discussions targeted to strengthen international cooperation and improve collective resilience against ransomware threats. Members agreed to

  • improve communication between private organisations and governments,
  • develop capacity building initiatives to share best practices,
  • enhance information sharing,
  • improve communication between governments and the private sector, and
  • adopt effective recommendations and guidance to address emerging ransomware threats.

At the end of the Summit, the CRI Steering Committee issued a Summary (refer to Annex A), reaffirming a joint commitment to build collective resilience against ransomware threats, support members undergoing ransomware attacks, hold criminal ransomware actors accountable and deny them safe haven, and promote responsible State behaviour in cyberspace.

Additionally, 67 CRI members endorsed a “Guidance for Organisations to Build Supply Chain Resilience Against Ransomware”. Led by Singapore and the UK, the Guidance serves to help organisations develop an approach to improve their supply chain security posture against ransomware attacks (refer to Annex B). This Guidance aims to reduce the likelihood of a ransomware incident having a critical effect on an organisation, and ensure that organisations do not leave supply chains vulnerable to ransomware attacks. It sets out four key steps to help organisations develop an approach to improve their supply chain security posture against ransomware risks:

  • Step 1: Understand why supply chain security is important (“why”)
  • Step 2: Identify your key supply chain partners and their levels of access (“who”)
  • Step 3: Develop a strategy and implementation plan for supply chain security (“what”)
  • Step 4: Review and refine your approach.

The Summit underscored the CRI’s commitment to cooperate in combating ransomware and advancing efforts for cybersecurity. Singapore will continue to contribute to the CRI efforts to strengthen international cohesion and collaboration on counter-ransomware policies.
