Global Dental Leaders to Convene in Shanghai for FDI World Dental Congress 2025

SHANGHAI, July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The FDI World Dental Congress (WDC), one of the world’s premier events for the oral health profession, will take place in Shanghai, China, from September 9–12, 2025, co-hosted by Chinese Stomatological Association and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions. Organized annually in different countries, the WDC highlights the importance of oral health in securing overall health and well-being and serves as a driving force for international collaboration in dentistry.

In recent years, visa-free policies have made China an increasingly popular destination for global travelers. This enhanced accessibility, coupled with Shanghai’s global appeal, and FDI’s established reputation as the leading global dental event, has already attracted over 10,000 congress delegates for the 2025 edition, with expectations of more than 35,000 professional attendees and visitors from 134 countries and regions.

Attendees can look forward to a robust scientific program packed with insights from over 300 world-class speakers and interactive forums on key dental topics. Meanwhile, the FDI WDC 2025 Exhibition is set to be the largest in FDI history, featuring 700 selected exhibitors across 60,000 square meters. Leading global brands such as Haleon, Listerine, LION, and Colgate, along with hundreds of Chinese manufacturers and technology providers, will showcase the most advanced dental equipment and solutions. The exhibition will also spotlight achievements from hospitals and universities, innovations in AI-powered diagnostics, digital dentistry, and 3D printing, providing state-of-the-art solutions to participants.

Additionally, the Congress promises exceptional networking opportunities through guided tours designed to connect researchers, clinicians, industry experts, and distributors, fostering partnerships that can advance oral health globally.

A Social Program to Remember

The social program accompanying WDC25 will provide attendees with a unique cultural experience. Highlights include the Opening Ceremony on September 9, and the Gala Dinner on September 10 invites guests to immerse themselves in Chinese heritage through live performances, regional cuisine, and an evening celebrating cultural elegance. Shanghai Night set for September 11, will be held along the iconic Bund, offering a memorable evening of live music, handcrafted cocktails, and stunning views of Shanghai’s dynamic skyline. These events perfectly capture the city’s vibrant “East-meets-West” charm and cultural essence.

China’s Emergence as a Dental Destination

While the Congress takes center stage, China’s rise as a key market for dentistry cannot be overlooked. Since 2006, China’s dental sector has experienced unprecedented growth, outpacing most global markets. The sector’s technological transformation has been equally impressive. Chinese dental practices have rapidly adopted cutting-edge solutions including fully digital workflows, fundamentally enhancing treatment accuracy, efficiency, and patient comfort – setting new standards for dental care delivery.

Driving Global Oral Health Forward

The FDI World Dental Congress continues to set the benchmark for advancing oral health on the global stage. By uniting leaders from across the dental profession, WDC25 will showcase dentistry’s most pressing innovations, address key health challenges, and foster greater collaboration to improve oral care around the world.

DIGITIMES ASIA: Nvidia picks Micron for massive SOCAMM rollout

TAIPEI, July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Nvidia is preparing to enter a new phase in the memory market by planning to deploy between 600,000 and 800,000 SOCAMM modules in 2025. This initiative positions SOCAMM as a potential successor to high-bandwidth memory (HBM). Although the initial deployment volumes are relatively modest compared to HBM, industry analysts suggest the move could trigger a wider transformation in the memory and substrate sectors.

According to reports from ET News and Wccftech, Nvidia has confirmed its intent to integrate SOCAMM into its next-generation AI products, sharing projected order quantities with key memory and substrate suppliers. The company’s upcoming GB300 “Blackwell” platform will be among the first to adopt SOCAMM, alongside the AI PC Digits, unveiled during Nvidia’s GTC 2025 conference in May.

Micron secures first-mover advantage

Nvidia initially tapped Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron to co-develop SOCAMM. However, Micron has emerged as the first memory maker to receive approval for volume production, outpacing its South Korean rivals in the race to support Nvidia’s latest architectures.

Designed for low-power, high-bandwidth AI computing, SOCAMM leverages LPDDR DRAM and offers a significant upgrade over conventional notebook DRAM modules such as LPCAMM. The new module boosts input/output speeds and data transfer rates while maintaining a compact, upgrade-friendly form factor.

Micron claims its SOCAMM delivers a 2.5x increase in bandwidth and a one-third reduction in size and power consumption compared to traditional RDIMM modules used in servers.

From servers to PCs

While Nvidia’s initial SOCAMM deployment will focus on AI servers and workstations, the inclusion of the module in the Digits AI PC signals broader ambitions for the consumer market. Industry players believe this crossover potential will be key to scaling adoption.

Though the projected 600,000–800,000 units are dwarfed by Nvidia’s planned procurement of 9 million HBM units in 2025, analysts say SOCAMM’s introduction marks a pivotal inflection point. The module’s appeal lies in bridging the gap between cost-effective, scalable memory and the performance demands of AI workloads.

Substrate makers eye growth opportunity

SOCAMM’s rise is also reshaping dynamics in the substrate sector. The module requires custom-designed PCBs, creating an entirely new category of demand. With Micron already in mass production and both Samsung and SK Hynix actively negotiating supply partnerships, the stage is set for intensifying competition among the world’s top DRAM vendors.

Substrate suppliers, too, are preparing for an inflection in demand. Industry insiders note that while early volumes are limited, a wave of large-scale orders could follow if Nvidia’s SOCAMM strategy gains traction, potentially triggering a fierce scramble among PCB vendors to capture the new business.

Bill Deng, Founder and CEO of XTransfer, attends the 01VC CEO Summit 2025.

Recently, Bill Deng, Founder and CEO of XTransfer, was invited to attend the 01VC CEO Summit 2025. During the roundtable discussion focused on new dynamics in cross-border trade, Bill highlighted, “Today, for every 100 RMB in Chinese exports, 2 RMB are settled through XTransfer, and one-tenth of SME foreign trade enterprises have registered on our platform. With access to firsthand data insights, we are uniquely positioned to capture shifts in global trade flows.”

Digitalisation Driving New Integration: Enterprises Must Seize Opportunities in Emerging Markets
In recent years, tariff wars and trade frictions have forced Chinese export enterprises to review their global market strategies. Bill explained, “Digitalisation is accelerating the redistribution of global trade. While the share of the U.S. market declines, emerging markets in Southeast Asia and Africa are rapidly absorbing this growth. Markets in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America are becoming the “blue ocean” for Chinese enterprises expanding globally.”

Data from our platform shows that over 70% of all clients on the XTransfer platform in the first half of 2025 exported to Asia, Africa, or Latin America. Additionally, the proportion of payments received from Asia, Africa, and Latin America increased by 100% compared to the same period in the previous year.

XTransfer hosts the largest nationwide foreign trade conference in China every year, the TradeVision Summit, which is attended by over 3,000 foreign trade business owners and has more than 2 million online participants. “For the past three years, the primary theme of this conference has been how to discover emerging markets beyond the United States. The opportunities in these markets are enormous, and by establishing a presence now, companies will enjoy a first-mover advantage over the next decade,” Bill shared.

Bill further remarked, “After COVID, we observed a rapid improvement in global digitalisation levels. Therefore, I believe the global opportunities for China’s industrial chains will become even more substantial. Businesses must go global, particularly by focusing on less developed countries, to capture the new dividends brought by digital integration. This is why we fully support our clients in accelerating their diversification into multiple markets.”

XTransfer to Continue Upgrading Its Digital Platform and Building a Global Localised Service Network
XTransfer will continue to enhance its digital capabilities and actively promote the establishment of a globally localised service network to assist SMEs in securely, conveniently, and compliantly exploring overseas markets. XTransfer is committed to providing enterprises with one-stop cross-border financial solutions to improve global operational efficiency and risk resilience.
