Penta Security Sets the Benchmark for Web Application Security, Earning Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 South Korea Company of the Year Recognition

By combining intelligent threat detection, cloud-native security, and operational excellence, Penta Security enables organizations to confidently navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape.

SAN ANTONIO, July 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce that Penta Security has received the 2026 South Korea Company of the Year Recognition in the web application firewall (WAF) industry for its outstanding achievements in innovation, strategic execution, and customer impact. This recognition highlights Penta Security’s consistent leadership in driving measurable outcomes, strengthening its market position, and delivering customer-centric innovation in an evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Frost & Sullivan evaluates companies through a rigorous benchmarking process across two core dimensions: strategy effectiveness and strategy execution. Penta Security excelled in both, demonstrating its ability to align strategic initiatives with market demand while executing them with efficiency, consistency, and scale. “Penta Security exemplifies the qualities that define market leadership in today’s rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape. The company combines advanced technological capabilities, forward-looking strategic direction, and a strong commitment to customer success to create a compelling competitive advantage,” said Ying Ting Neoh, Industry Analyst, Frost & Sullivan.

Guided by a long-term growth strategy focused on cybersecurity innovation, cloud-native security, AI-driven threat detection, and customer success, Penta Security has demonstrated its ability to adapt and lead in a rapidly evolving market. The company recognized early shifts in the cybersecurity landscape and strategically expanded its capabilities beyond traditional WAF technologies to address emerging requirements in API security, cloud-native applications, and distributed environments. Its sustained investment in advanced security technologies has empowered it to maintain leadership while helping organizations navigate increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Innovation remains central to Penta Security’s approach. Its flagship WAF solution, WAPPLES, leverages the company’s proprietary Contents Classification and Evaluation Processing (COCEP™) engine, which analyzes web traffic through logical and semantic analysis rather than relying solely on conventional signature-based detection. The platform incorporates AI-based traffic analysis, enhanced encrypted traffic processing, support for modern security protocols, and advanced policy-testing capabilities. These innovations allow organizations to improve threat detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and strengthen protection against sophisticated web application and API attacks while maintaining application performance and operational efficiency.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Frost & Sullivan, which reflects Penta Security’s long-standing commitment to innovation, execution, and customer value in the cybersecurity market. As security requirements expand across cloud-native environments, APIs, and AI-driven threat landscapes, we remain focused on delivering practical, high-performance security solutions that enable our customers to operate with confidence” said Jihae Lee, CCO (Chief Compliance Officer) of Penta Security.

Penta Security’s unwavering commitment to customer experience further strengthens its position in the market. Through flexible deployment models—including appliance-based, software-based, cloud, and SaaS offerings—the company enables organizations to adopt security architectures aligned with their operational requirements and digital transformation strategies. Its life cycle-oriented approach, spanning pre-deployment consulting, architecture design, implementation, monitoring, incident response, and ongoing optimization, helps customers maximize operational value while ensuring resilience in mission-critical environments. This customer-centric strategy has contributed to strong adoption across government, financial services, healthcare, and enterprise sectors while fostering long-term customer trust and satisfaction.

Frost & Sullivan commends Penta Security for setting a high standard in competitive strategy, execution, and market responsiveness. The company’s vision, innovation pipeline, and customer-first culture are shaping the future of the WAF industry and driving tangible results at scale. In 2025, Penta Security achieved a steady double-digit year-over-year revenue growth in its WAF business, underscoring the company’s ability to translate innovation into measurable business outcomes while reinforcing customer confidence in its technology and services.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents the Company of the Year Recognition to a company that demonstrates outstanding strategy development and implementation, resulting in measurable improvements in market share, customer satisfaction, and competitive positioning. The recognition honors forward-thinking organizations that are reshaping their industries through innovation and growth excellence.

BateriHub, Global Energy Battery Partner MNA Metal to Tighten Malaysia’s Used Battery Recycling Chain

The MoU appoints DOE-licensed MNA Metal Resources as preferred collector for used automotive batteries, strengthening traceability across BateriHub and Global Energy Battery’s nationwide battery ecosystem.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 July 2026 – BateriHub, operated by Battery4U Sdn. Bhd., together with Global Energy Battery Sdn. Bhd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MNA Metal Resources to strengthen the responsible collection, documentation and recycling of used automotive batteries in Malaysia.

Under the MoU, MNA Metal Resources will serve as the preferred used battery collector, either directly or through transporters appointed by MNA, for scrap batteries collected through BateriHub and Global Energy Battery’s operations. The arrangement is designed to ensure that used batteries are channelled through proper, licensed and documented collection and recycling processes.

This MoU matters because every battery replacement has an afterlife,” said Stanly Ng, General Manager of BateriHub. “When a customer replaces a car battery with us, the old battery should not disappear into an unknown chain. It should be collected, recorded and handled by the right people. For customers, the promise is simple: when you choose BateriHub, we take care of the replacement quickly, and we take care of the used battery responsibly.

The partnership comes as Malaysia’s automotive sector continues to expand. According to the Malaysian Automotive Association, Malaysia recorded 820,752 new vehicle sales in 2025, its second consecutive record year. While this MoU focuses on used lead-acid automotive batteries, it also comes amid wider national attention on battery waste management, with The Star reporting growing attention on regulated recycling, safe disposal pathways and battery traceability as Malaysia’s vehicle ecosystem evolves.

As Malaysia’s largest direct-owned automotive battery retailer, BateriHub plays a critical role at the point of replacement, where old batteries are handed over by customers at branches or during on-demand battery delivery services. Global Energy Battery, which focuses on battery wholesale, supply and distribution, contributes additional collection volume through its wider business network.

Together, BateriHub and Global Energy Battery have channelled approximately 280,000 used batteries, equivalent to around 4,200 tonnes, through formal disposal and recycling channels over the past three years. MNA Metal Resources is a licensed lead-acid battery recycler and smelter under the Department of Environment, with operations covering the collection, movement and processing of scheduled waste.

As a company involved in the supply and distribution of batteries, we recognise that responsibility does not end at the point of sale,” said Sandy Yap, Chief Operating Officer of Global Energy Battery. “A sustainable battery industry requires proper collection, proper documentation and proper recycling. This partnership allows us to support that responsibility across our business network.”

We are pleased to partner with BateriHub and Global Energy Battery to support a more transparent and responsible battery recycling ecosystem in Malaysia,” said Genly Villa Olaguer, Fleet Manager of MNA Metal Resources. “Proper handling of used batteries is essential to protect the environment and ensure that valuable materials can be recovered safely through licensed facilities.”

Used lead-acid batteries require proper handling because they contain materials such as lead and sulfuric acid, which can harm soil, waterways and communities if leaked, dumped or processed irresponsibly. Through this partnership, the companies aim to improve accountability in the movement of scrap batteries from retail and supply channels to licensed recycling facilities.

BateriHub said the MoU reflects its broader effort to make responsible waste management part of its core retail promise, not just a back-end operational process.

First Floods Hit Northern Laos After Heavy Rains

Heavy rain triggered the first reported floods of Laos’ 2026 rainy season, sending floodwaters into villages, homes, and farmland across the country’s north on 30 June.

In Bokeo, floodwaters surged through Pak Ngao village in Huay Xai District on the morning of 30 June after several hours of intense rain, with local authorities warning that water levels continued to rise. Residents living in low-lying areas were urged to closely monitor weather conditions, move essential belongings to higher ground, and remain alert as the situation developed.

Further east in Phongsaly, floodwaters inundated farmland and homes in Long Nai Kao village, Boun Tai District. The flooding was caused by prolonged rainfall combined with overflowing streams, leaving rice fields submerged and affecting houses located along riverbanks.

No casualties or injuries had been reported as of Tuesday, but the incidents mark the first reported flooding linked to this year’s rainy season in Laos.

Flooding is a recurring challenge during the country’s monsoon season, which typically runs from June to late September. Northern provinces, with their mountainous terrain and numerous rivers and streams, are particularly vulnerable to flash floods and landslides following periods of intense rainfall.

Authorities have advised residents in flood-prone communities to stay informed through local weather updates and prepare for the possibility of further heavy rain as the rainy season intensifies.

More than 22 schools across Vientiane Capital received copies of President Thongloun Sisoulith’s memoir “Letters to Grandchildren” on 29 June, an initiative aimed at promoting reading, life values, and educational development among young people.

The families of Lao-India Friendship Association President Southam Sakonhninhom and former Ambassador Malayvieng Sakonhninhom funded the donation, worth more than LAK 32 million (USD 1,427), and also published and distributed the book.

Lao secondary schools and international schools across the capital received copies for their libraries.

Malayvieng said the memoir captures President Thongloun’s reflections, life experiences, and advice, offering guidance to younger generations on education, personal growth, and social responsibility.

Thongloun based the book on his childhood in his hometown, rural Huaphanh Province in northern Laos, during the Vietnam War, from 1955 to 1975. In the book he wrote about walking long distances to school, studying before dawn, and helping his family farm.

He wrote the memoir between 2014 and 2019 while serving as Foreign Minister of Laos, drafting much of it during official overseas trips. The book traces his journey from a rural upbringing to public service, including his studies in the Soviet Union, now Russia, and his later rise through senior government positions before becoming president.

Published bilingually in Lao and English, the book is also designed to help students strengthen their language skills.

Dear Editor (News/Business/Technology Desk – English language and Bahasa):

We are pleased to invite you to cover “Ready for What’s Next: From Learning to Earning in the Age of AI,” a closed leadership forum convened by Pearson and Amazon Web Services on Saturday, 4 July 2026, at JW Marriott Jakarta.

This forum will bring together some of Indonesia’s most senior higher education leaders to examine the growing gap between graduate outcomes and employer expectations, and to discuss practical strategies for improving workforce readiness in the age of AI. The event will also mark the launch of the Pearson × AWS AI Readiness Report 2026, a first-of-its-kind large-scale study based on 2,711 respondents across six countries. The report maps structural friction points that prevent graduates from meeting employer needs.

The timing is urgent: The report found that 53% of employers globally say their primary challenge is finding graduates with the right skills, while 78% of higher education leaders believe they are meeting employer expectations — yet only 14% of graduates report high proficiency in applying AI to a professional workflow.

A dedicated press conference will take place from 10:20 AM to 11:00 AM at the JW Marriott Business Centre, where spokespersons will share key insights and respond to media questions about the report.   Tea and snacks will be served prior to the press conference.

Please download and refer to this Media Kit,  which includes: the event agenda, interview opportunities and a draft press release.
