Gogolook Releases the World’s First Global Anti-Scam Impact Report

TAIPEI, Aug. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As generative AI rises and transnational criminal groups become increasingly specialized, scam has emerged as one of the most significant threats. Today (21), Gogolook (TWSE: 6902), a TrustTech company, released the world’s first Anti-Scam Impact Report, combining scam prevention efforts with the latest ESG and SDGs trends. The report compiles over 35 cross-border, cross-industry case studies to help governments, businesses, investors, and non-profits stay ahead of developments in the global anti-scam landscape.

Gogolook Releases the World’s First Global Anti-Scam Impact Report

Corporate Action on Scam Prevention Draws ESG and Impact Investors’ Attention

According to the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), half of the global population encounters at least one scam attempt per week, leading to losses equivalent to 1% of global GDP (USD 100 billion). The UK government has even reported that nearly 20% of scam victims develop depression and officially elevated the scam to a national security threat in 2023.

As scams increasingly endanger public well-being, the anti-scam sector is gaining traction among ESG and impact investors, with more and more companies incorporating scam prevention initiatives into their sustainability reports, showcasing transparent governance and corporate responsibility.

From an ESG perspective, scam operations consume vast environmental resources, including server farms, robocalls, mass SMS phishing, and crypto-based money laundering, highlighting their environmental impact (E). The issue also intersects deeply with social (S) and governance (G) dimensions: socially, companies must build digital resilience and promote media literacy through education and anti-scam tools; in governance, organizations are expected to implement comprehensive cybersecurity frameworks and anti-scam workflows to mitigate legal and reputational risks for themselves and their customers.

Scam prevention also aligns closely with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) are also highly relevant to broader scam prevention efforts.

Jackie Cheng, Gogolook Co-founder and Chairman, said:

“Scam prevention is not a drill, it’s a real fight,” said Jackie, “Since our founding over a decade ago, we’ve focused on building advanced anti-scam technologies and a strong business moat that has earned the trust of users, enterprises, and governments. This report reaffirms Gogolook’s core values within the ESG framework, highlights real-world applications of our solutions across different countries, and showcases innovative approaches to scam education. These efforts not only shape the future of the industry but also influence policymaking and legislative agendas globally, all while providing real protection to people.”

“Scams may never completely disappear, it’s part of human nature. But Gogolook will continue to drive impact globally and show the world what Taiwan’s AI and software technologies can achieve.”

Jorij Abraham, Managing Director of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), added:

“Fighting scam requires collaboration and support from all sides. We rely on companies to contribute funding, research, and technology to bring anti-scam solutions to life. When businesses are recognized or rewarded for their efforts in scam prevention, it accelerates the positive impact of the entire industry. As a foundation member of GASA, Gogolook is a prime example of how AI technology can be harnessed to prevent scams effectively.”

Chia-Kai Hou, Vice President of Social Impact and Sustainable Innovation Services at KPMG, commented:

“While traditional ESG reports focus on minimizing harm to the environment and society, impact reports go a step further by highlighting how an organization actively creates positive change, through its culture, products, and sustainable initiatives. Gogolook’s release of an Anti-Scam Impact Report is a strong example of this. It reflects a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and helps raise awareness about the real-world value of scam prevention technologies, as well as Taiwan’s growing role in the global fight against scam.”

– Summary of COP15 of the Ramsar Convention

Venue: Victoria Falls, Republic of Zimbabwe

Award ceremony and more: PR and other undertakings for Lake Inawashiro were conducted during side events etc. held by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment on July 26 (Sat., local time 13:30-, Japan time 20:30-). Afterward, discussions were held with the Ramsar Convention’s Secretary General, and registration certificates were awarded to the three municipalities, as well as the prefecture.

What is the Ramsar Convention?

The Ramsar Convention is an international agreement adopted in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, aiming to conserve wetlands and waterfowl habitats. In order to balance conservation with the lives and livelihoods of local people, it champions “wise use” of wetlands, valuing exchange, nurturing relevant skill sets, education, participation, and raising awareness. Lake Inawashiro was recognized for its connection with local ecosystems and its value as a migration spot for waterfowl, which led to its registration.

Lake Inawashiro’s traits

Lake Inawashiro is the 4th largest lake in Japan, and with its rich aquatic habitat, it is known as home to many wild birds and aquatic plants.

Shallows are particularly widespread on the northern shore, and the lake’s wide area and significant depth lead to the water temperature decreasing less in winter, which in turn means the lake does not freeze. Due to this, it is a valuable spot for ducks and swans to winter. Further, Lake Inawashiro and its surroundings are home to 197 different species of fauna, including 111 species of birds.

As for flora, over 100 species of aquatic plants grow here, and it is also the largest national habitat for fringed water lilies. A total of 705 species of ground plants have been confirmed on the lake’s shores, making this an important location for conserving biodiversity in the region.

The lake water is used for hydroelectric power, irrigation, and supplying both Aizuwakamatsu City and Koriyama City with water. Additionally, the inflowing rivers create multiple sand beaches near the river mouths, creating the distinctive “hakusha seisho” (white beach, green pine trees) vistas represented by Tenjinhama Beach and others. This beautiful natural view makes it one of Fukushima Prefecture’s more major tourism destinations, as well as a site for swimming in the lake and other water-related activities. The lakeside is used as a camping site and also contributes greatly to developing the regional economy.

Future plans

With registration under the Ramsar Convention completed, the prefectural government and local municipalities anticipate not only growing awareness about the conservation of Lake Inawashiro’s environment, but an increase in visitors due to greater international renown, as well as bringing visitors to the lake for educational purposes, both as part of schooling and beyond it. Going forward, the prefectural government will join forces with local municipalities and various relevant groups to ensure that Lake Inawashiro’s beauty and bounty are preserved for the future, treating the lake as the priceless prefectural treasure that it is.

CPA Australia proposes policy ideas to support Hong Kong’s long-term competitiveness

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 August 2025 – As Hong Kong continues to navigate global economic shifts and rapid technological transformation, CPA Australia has today submitted a series of recommendations to the Hong Kong Government for the Policy Address 2025 consultation.

CPA Australia proposes policy ideas to support Hong Kong’s long-term competitiveness

As one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies, CPA Australia has outlined proposed measures across five key areas:

  • Reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as an international financial centre
  • Developing Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology (I&T) hub
  • Promoting environmental, social and governance (ESG) and the green economy
  • Diversifying the economy
  • Developing, attracting and retaining talent.

Ms Karina Wong, Divisional President of CPA Australia in Greater China 2025, said: “Amid the uncertainties created by trade frictions with major economies, Hong Kong has demonstrated its unique advantages as a strategic gateway connecting mainland China and the world. We need to amplify our competitiveness to secure the city’s long-term economic vitality, for example, the free port status and unrivalled business environment.”

CPA Australia recommends the HKSAR Government considers introducing a Qualified Refundable Tax Credit (QRTC) scheme for multi-national enterprises in the maritime services and commodity trading sectors. A QRTC provides a more flexible and effective incentive structure that can help to boost these sectors.

“A QRTC would allow Hong Kong to better compete for multinational investment and reinforce its position as a premier international trade centre and shipping centre,” Ms Wong said. “We also propose expanding the scope of the half-rate tax concessionary regime for commodity trading to include the captive commodities traders serving group companies outside Hong Kong and include the financial commodity transactions, such as derivatives trading.”

Low-altitude economy is another area that CPA Australia supports to diversify the economy, for its potential to transform logistics, mobility, and urban planning.

Ms Wong added: “Hong Kong can lead in low-altitude innovation by establishing demonstration zones, collaborating with the Greater Bay Area on cross-border channels, and attracting global talent to this emerging sector. With strong research capabilities and a growing commitment to innovation and technology implementation – evidenced by the establishment of government-led Regulatory Sandbox pilot projects, Hong Kong is well-positioned to translate innovation into practical applications.”

An efficient and effective government process to deliver public services, and a green environment for sustainable development are crucial factors to do business, as well as to attract enterprises and investments to Hong Kong. Therefore, CPA Australia proposes a suite of initiatives including the promotion of a robust e-government framework.

Mr Cyrus Cheung, Deputy Divisional President of CPA Australia in Greater China 2025 said: “We suggest the Government considers modernising operations and implements a ‘tell us once’ compliance model for individual and business data access in a secure and convenient manner. For example, we propose introducing legislation to allow data sharing across relevant and approved government agencies, and to establish an integrated platform that enhances data management across governmental departments. To simplify the processes of public services, we also suggest the Government reduces its reliance on in-person authentication where appropriate, and consolidates government services onto a single platform, such as iAM Smart, which allows online authentication across different services.”

Mr Cheung also emphasised the importance of sustainable development in shaping Hong Kong’s future. He called for better alignment of the Hong Kong Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance with the international standards to attract investment in green projects.

“Energy policy is core in our sustainability goals. The taxonomy should reflect the role of various forms of low-carbon energy in supporting Hong Kong’s transition to a net-zero economy,” he said. “We also encourage the government to develop a standardised carbon trading framework and explore the Carbon Connect initiative to strengthen Hong Kong’s leadership position in green finance.”

Hong Kong’s sound financial system and free flow of capital continue to underpin strong investment inflows, and the city is poised to return to its position as the world’s top IPO market in 2025, Mr Kelvin Leung, Deputy Divisional President of CPA Australia in Greater China 2025, said. “Despite global uncertainties and trade tensions, Hong Kong’s capital market remained resilient, drawing more family offices to setup in the city and reinforcing its role as a preferred venue for fund raisings.

“Investors choose Hong Kong for investment and wealth management because we are globally connected, rule-of-law based and responsive to market needs. We should be more proactive in promoting Hong Kong as a dual listing destination for overseas companies, and we encourage the Government and relevant regulators to explore the feasibility of an “IPO Connect” mechanism, to meet growing mainland investor demand for access to global assets.”

To increase private market liquidity, CPA Australia suggests piloting an intermittent trading facility for private companies in a controlled environment. “This would offer growth-stage companies a stepping stone toward future public listings, supported by clear eligibility, proportionate disclosure and robust settlement safeguards,,” Leung said.

Mr Leung also highlighted opportunities in digital assets, “It is a notable step for Hong Kong to launch the ‘LEAP’ framework to develop a trusted and innovative digital-assets ecosystem. We welcome the Government’s move to promote the responsible expansion of stablecoins under a fit-for-purpose regulatory regime. The Government should also consider a clear roadmap for real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation that balances innovation with strong investor protection.”

CPA Australia has also proposed recommendations on strengthening SME cybersecurity such as to launch a CyberSafe SME Subsidy Programme and introduce a CyberSafe HK certification. We also suggest initiatives such as increasing maternity and paternity leave similar to other developed economies, to attract and retain talent.
