TK Soundlao is back with its second instalment of Songfa Hadao 2 singing contest after the original event proved so successful in unearthing new talent.
TK Soundlao Manager Mr. Thavisack Thammavongsa said this year’s contest would be different from when it was initially held in 2012 with folksongs to be mixed with international music styles to add colour to the contest.
TK artists Jack Saynammong, Linthong Khamphoumy, Tonkhoun Sounakhane, Soutthida Panoy and Khounxay Saynamsam will be the coaches of this year’s project seeking contestants with great voices to join their teams, he said.
More than twenty people have already signed on for the contest since it was announced on Monday with applications closing on October 1.
Some 25 shortlisted contestants will be chosen the following day and then hit the main stage at Chao Anouvong Park on October 12 in blind auditions’ with coaches unable to view entrants before they make selections for their team.
Coaches will select 20 challengers who will then undergo intensive training to be ready for the battle round’ the following day.
After that the top ten contestants will perform in the contest final to select the overall winner with officials from various entertainment companies joining as judges.
The winner will receive 3 million kip cash and join TK Soundlao as a singer while the other top ten finalists will also have the chance to be recruited by TK Soundlao and other entertainment companies.
Winner of the original Songfa Hadao competition Ms Toukta Chalavy has released her own tracks under the TK Soundlao label including Hai Chao Khon Diew and Hak Chao and has also starred in the Lao films Khoi Huk Chao and the recently released 45 Days.
TK Soundlao urged the public to keep an on eye on YouTube for uploaded contest performances.
