Laos is among 72 countries listed as being approved by Vietnam for entry into the country upon its reopening.
A list of vaccines recognized as vaccine passports was released last week, according to VN Express.
“Vietnam is temporarily accepting vaccination certificate forms, otherwise known as vaccine passports, from 72 countries and territories that have been recommended to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via representatives,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said at a press conference.
She was replying to queries concerning Vietnam’s policy regarding the entry of fully vaccinated foreigners.
Representatives from these 72 countries, including Laos, have presented Covid-19 vaccination or recovery documentation to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with temporary recognition granted.
People traveling from outside the country with the recognized documents proving that they have either been fully vaccinated or have recently recovered from Covid-19 can enter Vietnam and are eligible for the seven-day quarantine at centralized facilities.
At the same time, the Vietnamese ministry is also in talks with nearly 80 countries regarding the acceptance of each other’s vaccine passports, according to Hang.
