Laos Ranks Fourth at Cyber SEA Game 2022

This Week

The Cyber SEA Game was recently held in Bangkok, Thailand, and the Lao team put up quite an impressive performance in the competition.

Sponsored by Japan, Cyber SEA Game is a cybersecurity competition that saw participation from young talented teams from ASEAN countries in Bangkok on 10 November. The candidates competed in the areas of investigating network safety, decoding, computer defense, troubleshooting, and assessing system safety.

After putting up a great fight, the NayNayNayNay team from Laos with four members namely Edward, Vilaysone, Tym, and Phoutkham finished in fourth place after Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand respectively.

Cyberus Technology Co. Ltd., a Lao Tech company, that recently conducted the Lao Young Hacker Competition pointed out that in recent past Laos finished in ninth or tenth place in such regional competitions, so there is an improvement.

Recently, the Lao Hacker community has made an effort to foster the development of young Cyber security teams to be internationally standardized so that they can compete with other countries in such competitions and provide any required support.
