Lao Prime Minister’s Office announced that COVID-19 vaccination proof and Rapid Antigen Test (ATK) for unvaccinated travelers would no longer be required to enter the country.
Effective immediately, travelers will not be required to show their proof of vaccination or Covid-19 test results at any international airport, land border crossing, or port of entry in Laos.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the government’s ordinary meeting held on November 21-22 this year, according to the notice.
Laos announced its border opening in May and allowed travelers arrivals to enter the country without any testing requirements. And the country has already recorded over a million tourists between January to September, resulting in a 39 percent rise in visitors compared to last year.
Thailand also canceled the requirement of vaccination certificates or negative Covid-19 test results in the case of unvaccinated passengers in September to boost its tourism numbers.
