The 1st DGB Cup Indochina Dream League tournament was held from 24-26 February, with four ASEAN teams in attendance. The event saw Laos come out in second place.

The Lao National Baseball Team, consisting of 18 players who were all Lao nationals, was trained by coaches Lee Jun Yuong and Kim Hyun Min from the Republic of South Korea.

This event took place at KM16 Stadium in Vientiane Capital, with Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam being the four participants of the tournament.

The first day of the tournament kicked off with a match held between Laos and Vietnam. Laos won the match by a landslide, beating Vietnam with a score of 18-1.

Day 2 saw Laos and Thailand play against each other for the first time, with Thailand taking the victory by 12 points to 5.

Later that day, Laos won a game against Cambodia, clinching victory with a score of 8 to nil.

The final day kicked off with a match between Laos and Thailand. Although the Lao athletes played their hearts out, they came up short of victory, losing to Thailand by 18 runs to 5.

The conclusion of the first DGB Cup Indochina Dream League saw Thailand rank first, with 3 wins and 0 losses, and Laos came a close second, with 2 wins and 1 loss.

Last year, the Lao Baseball Federation was voted in and introduced as a new member of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

Baseball was introduced to Laos when a Korean volunteer, Je Sung-uk, organized a group of ten people interested in playing the American game. The group first held its practice sessions in a car park.

In 2013, the Lao Baseball Federation was established, and just five years later played its first international tournament.
