Storm Drifts Lao Entertainment Cruise to Thailand

An entertainment cruise was hit by a storm and stuck in Thailand.

A Lao restaurant cruise ended up near Mukdahanh, Thailand after being hit by a storm in Savanakhet Province on Sunday.

Ch 7HD News reports that authorities in Thailand found a cruise from Laos that was swept by a summer storm across the Mekong River and got stuck in the river bank near Mukdahanh at around 6 pm.

The authorities rescued 11 Lao crew members from the boat, including 5 men, and 6 women.

The cruise staff said that they were preparing to start sailing when a storm cut through the large rope that tied the cruise to the ground.

Lao crew members on the cruise were rescued to safety after the storm.

Due to the damage caused by the storm, the crew members were unable to return to Laos after the incident, and the Thai officials granted them temporary refuge in the country.

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in Laos has predicted the country to receive thunderstorms and rainfall until April 27.
