A group of dedicated runners will run from Vientiane Capital all the way to Luang Prabang, covering a distance of 385 kilometers from 23 to 27 October, to collect funds for charity.

Team We Run, the group of athletes who regularly gather for fun, exercise, and friendship, is ready for their biggest annual challenge. This year, the team aims to raise LAK 999,999,999 (approximately USD 48,343) for the Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Luang Prabang.

Three runners will lead the team from beginning to end, but anyone can join the group along the way. A support crew will follow the athletes to ensure their safety throughout the journey.

The three leading runners are Masaaki Kawabata from Japan, Daniel Ose from Germany, and Soulignadeth Liemphrachanh from Laos.

This fundraising event is the 9th charity run since it first started in 2014. The runners aim at reaching Luang Prabang the day before the Run for Children Half Marathon, which in 2022, saw about 2,000 Lao nationals and foreign participants and raised more than LAK 500 million (approximately USD 24,171).
