CAMWATER 2025 MAKES WAVES IN PHNOM PENH THROUGH ADVANCE CLIMATE ACTION AND WATER SECURITY

This Week

Five ministries, 6,000 trade visitors from 10+ countries, and 20+ exhibitors join forces to accelerate Cambodia’s C-SDG 2030 goals

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Cambodia today marked a milestone in its sustainable development journey with the opening of CAMWATER 2025, held from 14–16 October 2025 at the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre (DIECC).

Themed “Working Together to Reach CSDG 2030 in the Context of Climate Change,” CAMWATER 2025 is organised by Informa Markets, and co-hosted by the Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA), with strategic support from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI). Running alongside the exhibition is the CAMWATER 2025 Conference (14–15 October), now in its second edition, it continues to provide a focused platform to address Cambodia’s pressing water challenges and explore innovative solutions alongside key industry stakeholders.

With 2,000+ trade visitors expected from more than 10 countries and 20+ exhibitors showcasing next-generation solutions, CAMWATER 2025 combines policy dialogue, technical innovation, and business opportunity. Strategically co-located with CAMBUILD 2025 and CAMAUTO 2025, the event also fosters cross-industry collaboration to support Cambodia’s broader infrastructure and industrial development goals.

The opening ceremony featured a traditional Apsara blessing dance, followed by welcome remarks from Mr. Leng Kheav, Board of Director, Chair of CWA, and Ms. Haza Tukimin, Senior Event Managers of Informa Markets. The keynote address by H.E Hem Vanndy, Minister of MISTI reinforced the government’s strong commitment to a climate-resilient water sector. Guests then toured the exhibition floor, exploring innovations in smart water management, infrastructure, and sanitation.

“CAMWATER 2025 represents a pivotal moment for Cambodia’s water sector,” said Ms. Haza Tukimin, Senior Event Managers of Informa Markets. “For over 13 years, we have built a powerful coalition across the entire value chain – connecting policymakers and financiers with innovators and operators – to turn CSDG commitments into operational reality.”

Day one’s flagship panel, “Working Together to Deal with Climate Change for Sustainable Water Supply,” convened senior leaders from five key ministries – MISTI, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM), the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) – alongside utility executives and technical experts.

The cross-ministerial dialogue reviewed progress toward CSDG 6 and mapped urgent interventions to ensure safe and affordable water access amid climate pressures.

“Water security is at the heart of Cambodia’s sustainable growth,” said H.E Hem Vanndy, Minister of MISTI. “By aligning ministries, utilities, and the private sector, we are strengthening resilience, ensuring equitable access, and preparing for a climate future that requires innovation and collaboration.”

On the second day, the conversation expands to a regional stage, as presidents of water associations from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia share best practices on operational excellence, workforce development, and professionalisation – highlighting Cambodia’s role as a regional hub for water resilience and innovation.

Global companies, including ABB and METAWATER, are showcasing technologies for smart water management, while SME Bank and Phillip Bank, present alternative financing models to mobilise Cambodia’s 2026–2030 water infrastructure investment pipeline – addressing one of the sector’s most critical barriers to progress.

“Climate change has no borders, and neither should solutions,” added Mr. Leng Kheav, Board of Director, Chair of CWA’s. “By sharing knowledge and building capacity, CAMWATER 2025 is driving collective resilience across ASEAN’s water sector.”

The CAMWATER 2025 Conference concludes on 15 October with a members-only closing ceremony, where Informa Markets and MISTI leadership will present policy recommendations, partnership frameworks, and technology adoption roadmaps to guide Cambodia’s water sector through 2030 and beyond.

CAMWATER 2025 runs from 14–16 October 2025 at the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre, Phnom Penh, and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For more information, visit www.camwaterexpo.com or contact the organisers directly.
