On 17 December, Tether, a leading company in the digital asset industry, and Bitqik, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange in Laos, announced a strategic partnership aimed at promoting financial literacy around Bitcoin and stablecoins in the country.

Bitqik, a local licensed exchange, provides brokerage and trading services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. The company’s mission is to make it easy and secure for anyone, anywhere, to send and receive digital currencies.

Through this collaboration, Bitqik plans to expand access to blockchain solutions by educating the Laotian market about USD₮ and the role of stablecoins in fostering financial inclusion. The initiative seeks to build trust in stablecoins, positioning USD₮ as a tool for cryptocurrency investment, remittances, and broader digital finance adoption in Laos.

To achieve this, Bitqik will host quarterly events in major cities including Vientiane, Pakse, Vangvieng, and Luang Prabang. These sessions will focus on stablecoins and crypto trading, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to actively engage in the digital economy.

Additionally, Bitqik will develop online educational content for students and promote informed use cases for digital assets. The initiative targets reaching over 10,000 people through seminars, roadshows, and online resources.

“We are always very excited at the opportunity to collaborate with great minds in various region to bring financial education and promote the informed use of digital assets so that everyone can participate actively in the digital economy,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.

He added that the world of cryptocurrency is constantly evolving, and Tether wants this opportunity to be available to everyone, everywhere, the right way.

“That is why we are working with companies like Bitqik to bridge the gap by providing the necessary valuable insights required.”

Virasack Viravong, CEO of Bitqik, said the company is very pleased to collaborate with Tether, a world-leading player in the digital asset industry. He noted that on the Bitqik Exchange, users can trade and convert between crypto and fiat currencies, primarily using USD₮.

Viravong also reported that the Bitqik Academy will organize activities to educate the Lao community on blockchain technology and digital assets, including Bitcoin investment and the use of stablecoins, especially USD₮.

He emphasized that USD₮ is the most widely used stablecoin in the Lao market and that the collaboration with Tether will provide Lao people with greater access to digital assets through various activities throughout 2026.
