Vientiane Capital People’s Council Kicks Off Inaugural Session, Public Feedback Welcome

The 5th People’s Council of Vientiane Capital held its inaugural session, marking the official commencement of the Council’s roles, rights, and responsibilities as the capital’s highest representative body for the people of Vientiane.

The three-day session, running from 1 to 3 April at the Vientiane Capital Administration Office, will cover several key agenda items, including verification of member qualifications, appointments to key state positions, and approval of the capital’s five-year socio-economic development plan and budget (2026-2030). 

The Council will also approve five-year operational plans for the People’s Council, the State Inspection Authority, the State Audit Organization, the People’s Prosecutor’s Office, and the People’s Courts.

The Council serves as the representative body for the rights and interests of the people of Vientiane Capital, overseeing state administration at the capital level.

All organizations, civil servants, and citizens, particularly residents of Vientiane Capital, are encouraged to follow proceedings via television, radio, and print media.
