New Agricultural Practices in Xinjiang: More Smart Technologies, a Happier Life

BEIJING, Sept. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A news report from China.org.cn on the technological application in Xinjiang’s agriculture:

New Agricultural Practices in Xinjiang: More Smart Technologies, a Happier Life

To cultivate a cotton field of 3,000 mu, equivalent to about 280 standard football pitches, how many farmers are needed?

In Yuli County, Xinjiang, the answer is just two.

But these two people don’t appear to be farming in the traditional sense. They spend more time glued to their phones and tablets, making a few taps here and there. Yet, the real work gets done. Their screens are linked to a whole set of IoT devices which monitor fields around the clock, transmitting real-time footage, and collecting specific meteorological and soil data. Based on this information, a smart agriculture management system, powered by an agricultural database, recommends the ideal time to sow. With the help of the smart fertigation system, both watering and fertilizing are just a simple click away. Remote-sensing drones patrol the fields for pests and diseases, while agricultural drones carry out fully automated pesticide spraying upon command.

With manpower minimized but technology applied in full, the results have been pleasing. The 3,000-mu “super cotton field” managed by just two people has reached new highs in both total yield and unit yield for consecutive years. Last year, its output per mu exceeded 500 kg, reaching the benchmark of a high-yield field in Xinjiang.

These two tech-savvy next-generation farmers have accompanied the super cotton field to maturity, a model that is now benefiting more farmers. So far, 1,200 farms across Xinjiang have adopted this model, cultivating more than 700,000 mu (about 115,500 acres) of cotton fields with efficient and smart technologies. Now that farmers have much more time, many have chosen to take up jobs elsewhere or start their own businesses, unlocking new possibilities in life.

About 7 million people in Xinjiang — nearly half of all farmers — rely on the snowy-white cotton for livelihood. That in mind, efforts to ease farm work through technology began decades ago. By 2024, the mechanization rate for cotton plowing, planting, and harvesting in Xinjiang has exceeded 97%.

Many transformations are underway, enabling smart agriculture to better empower farmers.

Even with the already impressive “two people managing 3,000 mu” super cotton field, scientists are still pushing for further upgrades. In experimental fields equipped with a “digital brain”, the vision of farmland “managing itself” is becoming a reality: the field’s “brain” automatically inspects and analyzes various factors, generates solutions, and carries out orders like watering on its own. Moreover, statistics show that after such iterations, the cotton fields are more precise with the water and fertilizer dosage, cutting costs by about 350 to 400 RMB per mu while boosting efficiency.

In Moyu County in Xinjiang, rows of greenhouses equipped with intelligent systems allow villagers to control temperature or read soil pH and humidity levels at any time on their phones from home. Thanks to this technology, they are able to grow tropical fruits like dragon fruit, creating new sources of income.

Each of these digitalized farming models showcases the vigorous growth of smart agriculture in China, and reflects how livelihoods in Xinjiang are improving with each passing day.

Halley Body Slimming Clinic Contributes to Global Study on Dual-Applicator Cryolipolysis System

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 29 September 2025 – Halley Body Slimming Clinic has announced its participation as the sole Asian research site in a newly published global clinical study on dual-applicator cryolipolysis. The study, titled “Participant Satisfaction, Effectiveness, and Safety With a Novel Dual-Applicator Cryolipolysis System: A Prospective, Multi-Country Study”, was published in Dermatologic Surgery, a monthly peer-reviewed journal, on 10 September 2025.

First Global Study of Its Kind

This prospective, multi-centre study was conducted across five countries—the United States, France, Germany, Sweden, and Singapore—with Dr. Terence Tan leading the Singapore research site at Halley Body Slimming Clinic. The clinic served as the only study site in Asia.

Participants ranged in age from 22 to 65, with an average age of 43 and a mean body mass index (BMI) of 25.1 kg/m². Around 75% were female. The cryolipolysis study aimed to evaluate participant satisfaction, safety, and treatment outcomes across several common areas of concern, including the abdomen, flanks, upper arms, thighs, and submental region. Participants were assessed using a combination of patient-reported satisfaction surveys, photographic reviews, and three-dimensional imaging analysis.

Exploring Key Findings From the Study

Among the 96 evaluable participants treated on the midsection, 83.3% reported being “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their results at 12 weeks post-treatment. For those who received cryolipolysis treatment in additional areas, 83.0% reported overall satisfaction.

Independent physician reviewers were able to distinguish pre- and post-treatment images in 88% of cases, providing independent visual confirmation of treatment outcomes. Additionally, many participants reported visible improvements as early as four weeks after their initial session, supported by photographic identification rates of nearly 79% and volumetric 3D analysis.

This four-week post-treatment is particularly significant. Previously, reports of early improvement had been anecdotal, based on clinician observations. The current study now provides objective evidence that fat freezing treatment can yield visible results within one month, particularly in the midsection.

Enhancing Understanding of Outcomes in Asian Participants

This marks Dr. Tan’s second contribution to clinical research on cryolipolysis. His previous co-authored study, “High Participant Satisfaction Achieved Using Cryolipolysis for Fat Reduction of the Abdomen and Flanks”, published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in 2022, was one of the first to assess cryolipolysis outcomes in an Asian population. The study found that, despite having lower average body mass indices, Chinese participants exhibited greater fat volume reduction than their Western counterparts. When considered alongside the current findings, the earlier research provides additional context on the treatment’s consistency. Both reports observed high participant satisfaction and noted that outcomes were generally well tolerated, with minimal adverse effects reported across the study groups.

Implications for Clinical Practice and Patient Safety

This publication highlights the importance of administering cryolipolysis with proper technique, approved equipment, and medical oversight. The cryolipolysis study findings suggest that outcomes are more consistent and well-tolerated when treatments are carried out using a dual-applicator system under the supervision of trained doctors.

Another key takeaway is the importance of selecting providers that use cryolipolysis devices approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA). Copycat or non-approved machines, often found in non-medical settings, may not meet the same safety or performance standards. Treatments administered without medical supervision may also carry increased risk, particularly for individuals with contraindications that only a doctor is qualified to identify.

Even at clinics that use approved cryolipolysis systems, doctor involvement should begin at the consultation stage. A comprehensive medical assessment ensures that treatment is appropriate and tailored to the individual’s needs.

With experience from hosting two published clinical studies, Halley Body Slimming Clinic applies research-informed protocols to its cryolipolysis services. All treatments are supervised by trained doctors and conducted using US FDA-approved equipment.

DL Invests HK$320M with BITMAIN to Break Hashrate Barriers

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 29 September 2025 – DL Holdings Group Limited (1709.HK) announced on the 28th that it has reached two legally binding letters of intent with BITMAIN, the world’s largest cryptocurrency mining machine manufacturer, and plans to purchase a total of 2,995 next-generation Antminer S21 series hydro-cooled mining machines using a financing mix of internal resources plus loans provided by partner Antalpha. These machines will be deployed at professional data centers in Oman and Paraguay, with BITMAIN providing comprehensive hosting and operations & maintenance (O&M) services.

This collaboration marks a key step in DL’s strategic layout for digital-asset businesses, advancing from “asset allocation” to “hashrate infrastructure + cash-flow generation” through industrialized operations. Together with the previous purchase of 2,200 mining machines, DL has now invested over HK$320 million, with aggregate computing power of approximately 2,100,000 TH/s, aiming within two years to become the listed company with the largest Bitcoin hashrate in Hong Kong’s capital market.

Unlike the prevalent approach of allocating assets by purchasing Bitcoin in the secondary market, DL has chosen to directly procure mining machines and participate in physical mining operations, with the goal of establishing infrastructure for hashrate under its own control. This layout combines the inclusiveness of modern digital tools with the breadth of global asset allocation; through Bitcoin mining as digital infrastructure, and by integrating AI optimization and RWA tokenization, it will build a new bridge for investors to participate in decentralized finance.

The batch of machines to be purchased are BITMAIN’s latest high-efficiency products. Once online, they are expected to form a stable Bitcoin output capacity, bringing the Group sustainable digital-asset cash flows. This strategic move pushes DL’s digital-asset layout from the level of financial investment to physical (industrial) operations, significantly enhancing the authenticity and controllability of the business.

This cooperation is another important deployment by DL in Bitcoin mining following the acquisition of 2,200 in-rack mining machines by an entity associated with Antalpha’s former CIO. Together, the two batches of machines form the core of DL’s hashrate assets, laying a solid foundation for the Group to build scale Bitcoin reserves and production capacity.

As the global leader among mining-machine manufacturers, BITMAIN has significant advantages in hardware performance, energy-efficiency control, and a global O&M network.

By directly purchasing mining machines, DL ensures the supply of high-quality machines and establishes a deep strategic partnership with BITMAIN. The two parties will carry out comprehensive cooperation in equipment maintenance, power optimization, and technology upgrades, improving mining efficiency and operational stability, and providing strong assurance for DL to quickly establish industry-leading hashrate scale.

In addition, this cooperation is also the beginning of DL and BITMAIN jointly exploring an inclusive mining model. The two parties will work together to lower the threshold for mining participation, and, through professional hosting and real-time AI optimization, provide efficient and transparent channels for both individuals and institutions to obtain Bitcoin—supporting direct participation now, and tokenized exposure in the future.

Part of the funding for this mining-machine procurement project comes from the recent financing completed by the Group, reflecting DL’s clear planning for the use of funds and efficient execution capability. To further accelerate the strategy, the Group plans to adopt a “self-owned funds + partner financing” model and is actively exploring bringing in Antalpha as a key financing partner. As the machines are gradually deployed and put into operation—and with the expected support of Antalpha’s strong ecosystem—DL expects to form a considerable annual Bitcoin output capacity by 2027, injecting stronger momentum into the gradual realization of the vision of becoming “Hong Kong’s No. 1 Bitcoin Hashrate Stock.”

Andy Chen, Chairman of the Board of DL Holdings Group and Chairman of NeuralFin, said: “True value investing lies in participating in the construction of underlying infrastructure. We are extending the inclusive philosophy of fintech into the digital-asset field. By integrating global allocation, AI insights, and hashrate infrastructure, we are redefining value investing. Just as quantum computing reshapes the computing paradigm, DL chooses to deploy the foundational layer of Bitcoin hashrate directly—this is not only strategic foresight, but also a firm vote of confidence in Hong Kong’s virtual-asset policies. With industrial-grade investment, we will build the largest hashrate platform in the Hong Kong market, enabling investors to share in the value creation of the digital era.”

As a key cornerstone of the future decentralized financial system, Bitcoin’s value extends far beyond ordinary digital assets. Through this cooperation, DL aims to empower investors to directly participate in the construction of the digital-finance base layer: the two parties will jointly promote inclusive mining to reduce participation thresholds; provide transparent and efficient solutions based on world-class hardware and professional management; integrate hashrate assets into the DL ecosystem so that investors can gain Bitcoin exposure either through direct participation or via tokenization; and leverage AI technology to achieve operational optimization and energy-efficiency improvements. This cooperation breaks through the traditional business boundaries of mining and is building an innovative ecosystem that connects traditional finance with a decentralized future.

From asset allocation to hashrate construction, and from holding Bitcoin to self-producing Bitcoin, DL is shifting from “buying gold” to “operate a gold mine,” steadily building a Bitcoin business system with cash-flow generation capability, technological advantages, and synergistic effects. Against the backdrop of the accelerating integration of digital assets and traditional finance, DL’s forward-looking layout and clear strategic goals position it in a leading place on the digital-asset track of the Hong Kong capital market.

Over 85% of Hong Kong Employers Offer Medical Coverage to Contractors as Companies Prioritise Workforce Agility

  • 64% of employers in Hong Kong plan to hire contractors in 2025.
  • 51% of employers struggle to source skilled contractors.
  • 27% cite cost management as a key concern.
  • 17% face retention issues.
  • 85% of employers offer medical coverage to contractors.
  • 33% offer completion bonuses, typically one month’s pay or a percentage of annual salary.

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 29 September 2025 – Contract hiring is set to play a pivotal role in Hong Kong’s workforce strategy in 2025, with 64% of employers planning to hire contractors to address talent shortages and manage costs. As businesses increasingly rely on flexible hiring models, they are also enhancing benefits for contractors to attract top-tier talent. Notably, over 85% of employers now offer medical coverage, and more than 20% provide annual leave exceeding 18 days, according to the newly released Contractor Pay Guide 2025 by Robert Walters.

As businesses face economic uncertainty and headcount constraints, contracting has emerged as a strategic solution for accessing specialised talent while maintaining cost control. Employers are increasingly using short-term engagements to trial candidates, with many roles evolving into long-term opportunities.

Contractors trusted with high-stakes responsibilities
Contractors are no longer seen as temporary fixes. The guide reveals a growing trend of contractors being hired for sensitive, high-impact roles. Sectors such as legal, audit, and compliance, which were once reliant on permanent hires due to their sensitive nature—are now tapping into highly skilled contractors for time-bound projects requiring specialised expertise.

Vivian Tsang, Associate Director at Robert Walters Hong Kong, commented:
“Employers are recognising that contractors bring not just flexibility, but deep expertise. We’re seeing a shift where contractors are trusted with high-stakes work, and companies are aligning benefits and engagement strategies to reflect that.”

Enhanced Benefits for Contractors
Employers are offering more competitive benefits packages to attract skilled contractors. According to the guide, 85% of employers now provide medical coverage to contractors—a 4% increase from previous year, aligning their benefits with those offered to permanent staff. Additionally, over 20% of employers offer annual leave exceeding 18 days, while another 36% provide between 15–17 days. These improvements reflect a shift toward treating contractors as integral members of the workforce rather than temporary solutions.

Completion bonuses are also gaining traction, with 33% of employers rewarding contractors upon project completion, typically equivalent to one month’s pay or a percentage of annual salary. These incentives help retain high-performing professionals and ensure successful project delivery.

AI drives demand in tech contractors amid increasing demand across sectors
The rise of technologies like Generative AI is fuelling demand for tech contractors, particularly in roles such as AI/ML engineers, data specialists, and cloud architects. Companies are eager to integrate AI into their operations but face challenges due to limited talent availability.

In the financial services sector, firms are hiring contractors to strengthen their risk and compliance frameworks, respond to regulatory changes, and fill urgent gaps in legal and governance teams. Contract lawyers are also being engaged to support complex financial products and transactions.

Beyond tech and finance, demand for contractors is growing in HR and business support functions. Roles such as HR Business Partners, Finance Transformation specialists, and Executive Assistants are increasingly filled by contractors as companies seek cost-effective, agile solutions to manage headcount and budgets.
