HONG KONG, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Organised by Green Power, the 33rd Green Power Hike – the great annual charity hiking event – will commence on 31 January (Saturday) 2026. Individuals and groups are welcome to participate in the 50km, 25km and 10km races. In addition to six Corporate Cups, a new category- School Cup – is created. We invite all schools, business elites and hikers to take up the challenge and enjoy the hike on Hong Kong Trail. The event aims to raise funds to support Green Power’s ongoing efforts in environmental education and nature conservation. Public registration opens on 8 October. Early bird discounts are available until 14 November; limited spots are available – first come, first served.

The theme of the upcoming Green Power Hike is “From Peaks to Nature”: a challenge that transcends physical aptitude for peak conquering and tests one’s capability to protect and preserve nature.  The environmental stewardship challenge faced by the participants includes multiple green tasks, such as “Leave No Trace”, “Eco Clean Up”, litter sorting and recycling at finish points etc. Each participant will receive a “Leave No Trace” equipment set featuring green messages of Take Your Litter Home and “Clean Up Trails”, aimed at inspiring the public to actively contribute to environmental conservation with heart and dedication.

First School Cup to Nurture Young Country Park Leaders

As the oldest and most prominent annual charity hiking event, the Green Power Hike has drawn over 81,000 participants since 1994. It has been recognised by the UTMB® Index and the iTRA National League. The upcoming Green Power Hike will feature the School Cup, aimed at encouraging youth to participate in hiking and introducing them to trail running and hiking. This initiative aims to plant the seeds of environmental protection and conservation through experiential learning. The theme of “From Peaks to Nature” is designed to inspire the younger generation to become responsible hikers and to embody the  “Leave No Trace” principle in their daily lives.

Dr Cheng Luk Ki, Director of Green Power, said, “Green Power Hike is not just a great annual event for green groups and hikers but also an important platform for carrying forward the conservation spirit. We created the School Cup this time to initiate young people into environmental stewardship so that they can carry on guarding our country parks with enthusiasm. I dare the aspiring eco-stewards to take up the challenge of ‘From Peaks to Nature’, learn how to respect and love nature, and emerge from the rite of passage as future green leaders for the protection of our country parks.”

Both Corporates and Individuals are welcome to participate in fostering a spirit of green teamwork

The 50-kilometre-long Hong Kong Trail is easily accessible by public transport and has been selected by the international travel guide Lonely Planet as one of the top ten city hikes in the world. The race passes through five country parks, including seven reservoirs on Hong Kong Island and features renowned attractions such as The Peak, Tai Tam Reservoirs, and Dragon’s Back. It is not only an ordinary hiking trail but a valuable “ecological corridor” rich in biodiversity.

Green Power will provide participants with detailed information to explore different sections of the trail, allowing them to immerse themselves in Hong Kong’s unique natural beauty.  The six Corporate Cups offer business organisations opportunities to strengthen team building skills while advancing their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

AXA has served as the title sponsor of the “Green Power Hike” for three consecutive years, mobilising hundreds of employees and financial consultants each year to actively participate in the race and volunteer activities, to promote environmental conservation and healthy living. Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Greater China, said: “We are truly honored to partner once again with Green Power. Through this annual charity hike, we aim to raise public awareness for climate change and biodiversity conservation. At AXA, our purpose is ‘Act for human progress by protecting what matters’ and we are dedicated to promoting sustainability for society and the environment. We are encouraged by the growing participation in recent years. This year, we are especially excited about the launch of the new ‘School Cup’, which has inspired more young people to focus on Hong Kong’s natural ecology and environmental protection. We look forward to continue collaborating with the community to promote green living and build a better, more sustainable future.”

Individual, Team, Green Team, Corporate Cups and School Cup

Green Power Hike has individual, team and green team categories for 50km, 25km and 10km distances. Participants can select the distance that best suits their experience and physical condition. Lao President Set to Visit North Korea for Party Anniversary, Date Unconfirmed

Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith is expected to make an official visit to North Korea this month at the invitation of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

This trip would mark a significant moment in the two countries’ long-standing diplomatic relationship.

According to North Korean state media, President Thongloun will travel to Pyongyang to attend celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the exact timing of the visit.

Lao state media reports that the president will be in North Korea from 7 to 8 October, while North Korean and international sources suggest he will attend the anniversary event on 10 October.

As of now, no official clarification on the schedule has been released.

If confirmed, Thongloun would become the first foreign leader publicly invited by North Korea to attend the WPK anniversary, highlighting the close ties between the two countries.

Laos and North Korea have maintained strong diplomatic relations since 1974.

The event is expected to be marked by a large-scale military parade in Pyongyang, with the South Korean military suggesting that the North may hold a nighttime parade involving tens of thousands of personnel.

President Thongloun’s visit may coincide with the arrival of other high-profile international figures. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, is widely expected to attend the anniversary celebrations, further signaling North Korea’s push to strengthen ties with strategic partners.

Vietnamese Communist Party chief To Lam is also reportedly planning a visit to North Korea this month, which would be the first by a Vietnamese leader in nearly two decades. However, neither Hanoi nor Pyongyang has officially confirmed the trip.

CHANGZHOU, China, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — TrinaTracker, a provider of smart solar tracking solutions under Trinasolar, announced that it has received Product Carbon Footprint Certification(PCF) for Vanguard 2P tracker and Product Carbon Footprint Reduction Verification for Vanguard 1P from Bureau Veritas. Following the Vanguard 1P’s PCF earlier this year, the entire Vanguard series is now independently verified for its carbon footprint performance.

TrinaTracker has received Product Carbon Footprint Certification for Vanguard 2P tracker and Product Carbon Footprint Reduction Verification for Vanguard 1P.
TrinaTracker has received Product Carbon Footprint Certification for Vanguard 2P tracker and Product Carbon Footprint Reduction Verification for Vanguard 1P.

The PCF for Vanguard 2P certification was conducted in accordance with ISO 14067:2018, covering the full “cradle-to-gate” lifecycle- from raw material sourcing and transportation to product manufacturing and delivery.

The assessment highlighted TrinaTracker’s efforts to reduce carbon footprints, including:

  • Use of low-carbon steel and other low-impact materials in design and production
  • Optimized logistics with shorter transport distances and the adoption of rail and sea freight
  • Application of green electricity and energy-saving manufacturing processes
  • Reduced delivery emissions through improved routing and load efficiency

The Vanguard 1P tracker had already obtained PCF Certification, and Bureau Veritas verified it achieved a reduction of more than 10% in cradle-to-gate greenhouse gas emissions within one year. This improvement was driven by design refinements and enhanced manufacturing processes, highlighting TrinaTracker’s continuous progress in lowering product carbon footprints and helping customers meet increasingly stringent carbon regulations in markets such as Europe and Latin America.

With both the Vanguard 1P and 2P certified, the Vanguard series now provides credible, transparent carbon footprint data aligned with international standards. These certifications reflect TrinaTracker’s commitment to integrating carbon reduction measures across sourcing, supply chain, production, and logistics, supporting the global transition to net zero.

This milestone is part of the broader sustainability strategy of Trinasolar. As a participant in the United Nations Global Compact, Trinasolar has developed the SOLAR sustainability management concept, focusing on Sustainability, Optimization, Leading, Action, and Responsibility. Full range of Trinasolar’s Vertex N modules have obtained carbon footprint certifications from independent institutions, its Elementa 2 has earned full lifecycle EPD certification and Life Cycle Assessment certificate, and multiple production bases have been recognized as “Green Factories,” supported by more than 40 energy-saving projects.

Looking ahead, TrinaTracker will continue working closely with partners to advance carbon reduction across the PV value chain, delivering sustainable solutions that empower customers worldwide.

Lundbeck to showcase amlenetug Phase 3 MASCOT trial design in Multiple System Atrophy at the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders® 2025

  • Details of the Phase 3 MASCOT trial investigating amlenetug for the treatment of patients with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) will be presented at the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders® 20251-3
  • MSA is a rare, rapidly progressing, neurodegenerative disease with no approved treatments available4,5
  • The innovative design of the pivotal MASCOT trial aims to accelerate drug development for patients living with MSA1
  • Amlenetug has previously received Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) from the US FDA and the EMA in Europe, in addition to SAKIGAKE designation in Japan

VALBY, Denmark, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — H. Lundbeck A/S (Lundbeck) today announced that pipeline developments regarding amlenetug, a novel investigational molecule for the potential treatment of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), will be presented at the 2025 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders® in Honolulu, Hawaii (Oct 5-9).

Amlenetug is a human monoclonal antibody (mAb), which binds to pathological aggregations of the protein α-synuclein in the brain, thereby inhibiting its spreading to nearby brain cells. Amlenetug holds promise as a first-in-class therapy, with the potential to slow clinical disease progression for patients with MSA, a condition for which no approved treatments currently exist.

At the congress, Lundbeck will share Insights into the design of the Phase 3 MASCOT trial and its use of innovative Bayesian progression modeling methods.1,2 Rare diseases, such as MSA, face unique challenges due to limited prior data available to guide the design of drug development programs and smaller patient populations to enroll in trials.6,7

“MSA is a neurodegenerative disease with no currently available treatments to slow its relentless progression,” said Johan Luthman, EVP and Head of Research and Development at Lundbeck. “Amlenetug seeks to address this unmet need by targeting the underlying biology of MSA and delaying disease progression. The MASCOT trial has therefore been designed based on innovative methodologies, including Bayesian progression modeling and adaptive elements, to effectively evaluate its impact on this debilitating neurological disorder.”

This dynamic approach utilizes all available data over a long treatment period, enabling assessment of potential slowing of clinical disease progression overall. This is in contrast to traditional clinical trial design, which focuses on isolated time points.

The MASCOT trial8 is ongoing in many regions, including the EU, US and Japan, where the Bayesian progression modelling framework has been discussed with regulatory authorities in support of marketing registration. This further underscores the innovative nature of Lundbeck’s approach and the critical unmet need in this disease area.

During the congress, Lundbeck will also showcase valuable insights from patients and caregivers who participated in the Phase 2 AMULET trial. These perspectives, captured through embedded patient experience interviews, have been instrumental in informing the design of the Phase 3 MASCOT trial and in shedding light on the substantial burden the disease places on patients and their families.3

About Multiple System Atrophy
MSA is a rapidly progressing rare condition that causes damage to nerve cells in the brain. MSA is seriously debilitating and places a high disease burden on patients. Symptoms of MSA usually start between 55 and 60 years of age, and patients typically live for 6 to 9 years after symptom onset.9

In a person with MSA, an abnormal build-up of the protein α-synuclein is thought to be responsible for damaging the areas of the brain that control balance, movement, and the body’s normal functions.10 The symptoms of MSA are wide-ranging and include muscle control problems, similar to those of Parkinson’s disease.9 Many different functions of the body can be affected, and symptoms including urinary incontinence, frequent falling, and unintelligible speech occur within 3 years of disease onset and are accompanied by reduced capacity to live independently. Death is often due to respiratory problems. Although there are many different possible symptoms of MSA, not everyone who is affected will experience all of them. There is currently no cure for MSA and no available treatment to slow its progression.9

About amlenetug
Amlenetug is a human monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes and binds to all major forms of extracellular α-synuclein and thereby intended to prevent uptake and inhibit seeding of aggregation. Amlenetug is being developed by Lundbeck under a joint research and licensing agreement between Lundbeck and Genmab A/S. Amlenetug is an investigational compound that is not approved for marketing by any regulatory authority worldwide, and the efficacy and safety of amlenetug have not been established.

About the MASCOT trial
MASCOT (NCT06706622) is a Phase 3 interventional, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled, optional open-label extension trial that will be conducted in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.8

The trial comprises 2 parts: A double-blind period where participants are randomized to receive either high or low doses of amlenetug, or placebo for 72 weeks, followed by an open-label extension period where all participants enrolled in the trial are offered treatment with amlenetug. The aim of the trial is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of amlenetug in patients with MSA. Amlenetug will be delivered as an intravenous infusion every four weeks.

About the AMULET trial
AMULET trial (NCT05104476) was a Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of amlenetug as a potential treatment for patients with MSA. MSA patients were randomized 2:1 to either amlenetug or placebo and treated between 48 to 72 weeks, followed by an ongoing 192 weeks open-label extension period offering all participants to receive treatment with amlenetug.

The primary objective was to evaluate the efficacy of amlenetug on clinical progression in patients with MSA, aiming at showing a slowing in clinical progression in the active treatment arm compared to placebo on a 5% significance level evaluated 1-sided as well as safety and tolerability. The secondary objectives included evaluation of amlenetug on patient’s functioning, disease severity and other aspects of MSA. Amlenetug was delivered as an intravenous infusion every four weeks.
