Six masters of Chinese opera—each a recipient of the prestigious Plum Blossom Award—stood together to read the Artists’ Declaration. Yu Lan, Yang Fengyi, Feng Yuping, Wang Quanzhen, Cai Zhefei, and Han Zaifen, representing the traditions of Peking Opera, Kunqu, Pingju, Yu Opera, Yue Opera, and Huangmei Opera, were named “Chinese Opera Heritage Promotion Ambassadors.” Their collective presence lent the evening the feeling of a grand ensemble cast reunion, steeped in artistry and reverence for the craft. The program continued with a series of classic excerpts performed by leading artists from Kunqu, Yu, Huangmei, and other opera forms—an homage to the breadth and endurance of China’s theatrical traditions.

Beyond the main stage, audiences could immerse themselves in a visual narrative of theater history through an exhibition devoted to stage art. Divided into three sections—”Theatrical Costume Culture,” “Theatrical Cultural and Creative Products,” and “Stage Models from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts”—the exhibit offered a curated journey through the aesthetics, craftsmanship, and design that have shaped Chinese opera through the ages.…

The celebration marks the beginning of a cultural season that will extend through the Lunar New Year, featuring hundreds of public performances by leading troupes and artists, as well as a spotlight on Anhui’s local operatic forms and the televised Stars Shining in Hefei gala.

More than a festival, Operas Gathering in Anhui • Stars Shining in Hefei functions as a vibrant cultural platform—one that intertwines national heritage with Hefei’s evolving urban character. In doing so, it exemplifies the growing intersection of art and city life, where performance and place enrich each other. The event underscores how culture, when brought to the forefront of civic identity, can energize local economies while reaffirming the city’s standing as a hub of artistic expression.

“A City of Layers”: Taipei Expands its Presence in the European Travel Market

BERLIN, GERMANY – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 October 2025 – Under the theme “Travel Taipei – A City of Layers”, Taipei is strengthening its promotion in Europe, presenting itself as a city where modern lifestyle, cultural depth, natural landscapes, and culinary excellence converge. From September 20 to 25, the campaign rolled out a series of events in Germany and the Czech Republic to showcase the city’s diverse appeal.

Taipei: Asia’s New Travel Highlight Where City Meets Nature
Taipei: Asia’s New Travel Highlight Where City Meets Nature

In Frankfurt, a pop-up event at Skyline Plaza invited visitors to explore three unique experiences: “Scent of Taipei” with a live Oolong tea ceremony and cultural storytelling; “Urban Nature” highlighting the Taipei Grand Trail; and “Handmade Memories” workshops inspired by Dadaocheng, Taipei 101, and Beitou hot springs. In Berlin, a large billboard at the central railway station featured iconic attractions such as the National Palace Museum, Yangmingshan National Park, Ximending, temples, and bustling night markets. The campaign concluded in Prague with a travel trade networking event co-hosted with China Airlines.

Europe has become a key market, with research showing European travelers are among Asia’s highest spenders and favor flexible, independent travel. Taipei’s efficient transport, wide-ranging attractions, and blend of city life, nature, and gastronomy make it an ideal match.

A major highlight in Prague was the launch of China Airlines’ new non-stop Prague–Taipei service, operating twice weekly. This direct connection benefits not only Czech travelers but also those from southern Germany, including Nuremberg and Dresden. Travel operators emphasized that direct flights are a decisive factor in featuring Taipei in European itineraries.

Through immersive public events, media partnerships, and close cooperation with the travel industry, Taipei is steadily increasing its visibility across Europe. More than a short city break, Taipei positions itself as a destination of layers: where tradition meets modernity, where lush nature sits alongside vibrant nightlife, and where culinary adventures enrich every journey. With expanded connectivity and growing awareness, Taipei is emerging as one of Asia’s most compelling new destinations for European travelers.

The Ellinikon, Europe’s Flagship Urban Regeneration Project, Moves Forward at Full Speed

The Creation of a European Hub for AI and Digitalization

On August 28th, LAMDA Development accepted a binding offer from ION Group, a leading global financial technology company, for the acquisition of land within The Ellinikon to develop a Global R&D and Innovation Campus co-locating around 2,000 professionals from 44 countries.

The Campus, to be developed by ION Group across two distinct neighborhoods, will have a maximum buildable area of approximately 250,000 sqm. It will feature at least 50,000 sqm of office and collaboration space, a 1,000-seat auditorium designed to host international events, and up to 200,000 sqm of residential developments to accommodate ION Group’s professionals.

This landmark partnership marks the launch of The Ellinikon Business District, the final component of the project’s masterplan, and firmly positions The Ellinikon as a European hub for AI and digitalization.

Next-Generation Smart City Welcomes The University of Nicosia

Another milestone announcement made in support of The Ellinikon’s smart city ambitions is the decision made by The University of Nicosia to open their first university campus in Greece.

UNIC Athens will be an emblematic integrated university campus operating within The Ellinikon and 75,000 sqm. of buildable space has been reserved to create a campus for academics, research, and student residences enabled by AI, robotics, and wellness technologies.

The subsequent phases of the UNIC Athens campus within The Ellinikon project are targeted for completion in 2028 and 2031, respectively.

Residential Developments Reach New Heights

The residential pipeline at The Ellinikon continues to advance rapidly. Riviera Tower, Greece’s first skyscraper and tallest building, has now reached 30 floors, moving past the halfway point toward its final height of 200 meters. Once complete, the 50-story tower will house 173 residences and stand as the tallest residential skyscraper in the Mediterranean.

Momentum continues across the residential portfolio, with the launch of the tenth residential offering at The Ellinikon, Skyline Havens, a new collection of 150 refined residences. Ideally situated on the eastern side of the project, close to the Commercial Hub and Elliniko Metro Station, Skyline Havens forms part of the East Village, a prominent new neighborhood with elevated position offering widespread views. Spanning eight mid-rise buildings, this elegant complex offers elevated indoor-outdoor living with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, The Ellinikon Park and the Athenian skyline. Designed around light, water, and a seamless flow between interior and exterior spaces, Skyline Havens offers dual-frontage homes, expansive balconies with sea views from the majority of the residences, private pools in all ground floor and penthouse units, and access to exclusive resident-only amenities, including fitness area, outdoor pool, kids playground, reception and concierge services, and secure parking.

Meanwhile, Little Athens, the lush parkside neighborhood, continues to progress steadily. This verdant city-within-a-city features 1,115 residences and over 100 retail shops at street level, offering unique residential projects such as Park Rise, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, Pavilion Terraces, Promenade Heights, Atrium Gardens, Trinity Gardens, and Sunset Groves.

Retail Renaissance: Riviera Galleria and The Ellinikon Mall Take Shape

Where the sea meets modern design, Riviera Galleria, the luxury seafront shopping and lifestyle destination, is already emerging as a new architectural icon. With construction advancing steadily, its first floor is now visible from Poseidonos Avenue, offering a preview of the standout destination along the Athenian Riviera. Designed by the internationally acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, this 23,000 sqm. leisure hub will offer curated experiences featuring premium Greek and international brands, fine dining, and sweeping views of the Saronic Gulf. Signed Heads of Terms (HoT) with tenants have reached 78% of the GLA.

Just inland, The Ellinikon Mall, designed by the award-winning practice Aedas is set to become the largest and most advanced retail destination in Greece, and one of the most significant in Southern Europe. With a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of 100,000 sqm., the mall is being developed with a hybrid, sustainable design that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, to create an innovative retail, entertainment and leisure complex where visitors can shop, relax, and connect amid nature and innovation.

Signed Heads of Terms (HoT) with tenants have reached 64% of the GLA.

The Ellinikon Sports Park: Fitness for All, Coming Soon

Construction is underway on the 287,000 sqm. Sports Park, which will be soon welcoming athletes. Designed for all ages and abilities, the park, which will be open to the public by mid-2026, will include football, tennis, and basketball courts, a track-and-field arena, and wellness infrastructure built to international standards.

Calm Waters Emerge: A New Lake at the Heart of The Ellinikon Park

Within The Ellinikon Park, the largest coastal park in Europe, works are underway on a major ecological feature: a 14,600 sqm. lake. Set between the Experience Park and the Sports Park, the lake area transforms the broader site of the 2004 Olympic canoe-kayak venue and the former Aviation Hangars into a vibrant green and blue sanctuary.

Designed in harmony with the local natural wetlands, the lake itself will be surrounded by a 900-meter perimeter path, two pedestrian bridges, and tree-lined walkways that integrate with the wider park landscape. Over 11,000 trees and samplings and 148,000 bushes are to be planted, along with aquatic plants which naturally purify the water and support local biodiversity. This transformation serves as a powerful symbol of ecological renewal, where nature, culture, and wellbeing seamlessly converge in a new, sustainable urban landscape.

Global Network Advantage Building International RWA Ecosystem

With professional teams in Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Japan, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the Group leverages its global network advantage to transcend geographical boundaries, connecting quality assets and investors worldwide to build a truly international RWA investment ecosystem. Having successfully obtained a capital markets license in Singapore this year, the Group will use this as a springboard to focus on expanding the Southeast Asian RWA market, bringing more investment opportunities to regional investors.

Expanding Premium RWA Product Portfolio

“Sharing New Life” Campaign Launched to Support Maternal, Newborn Health

The launching ceremony of “Sharing New Life” on 30 September 2025 marks a partnership between Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Laos. Guests will have the opportunity to make voluntary contributions that directly support life-saving services for mothers and babies, especially in remote and underserved communities. (Phot credit: UNFPA Laos)

Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane have launched a new campaign turning hotel stays into life-saving support for mothers and newborns across Laos.

Called “Sharing New Life,” the initiative invites guests to make voluntary contributions toward improving maternal and newborn health.

Running from 1 October to 31 December, the campaign channels 100 percent of donations to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to help ensure safer pregnancies and healthier beginnings in some of the country’s most underserved communities.

“This campaign shows what is possible when innovation meets compassion. By working with Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane, we are turning ordinary moments of hospitality into extraordinary acts of solidarity. Each guest’s contribution will help save lives and give mothers and their newborns the healthy start they deserve,” said Pio Smith, UNFPA Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific.

All donations will directly support the agency’s efforts to ensure safer pregnancies, safer deliveries, and healthier beginnings, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

The campaign guarantees full transparency, with contributions clearly listed on guest bills, reconciled monthly, and transferred directly to UNFPA at the campaign’s conclusion.

Murali Viswanathan, Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane, described the campaign as a pilot project and a potential model for wider adoption. “Our aim is to seamlessly integrate hospitality and social impact. Guests can voluntarily contribute when they stay, dine, or host events.”

Murali Viswanathan, Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Vientiane. 30 September 2025.

“We ensure full transparency, 100 percent of the funds generated will be given back to society. We hope this pilot will inspire other hotels, restaurants, and tourism businesses in Lao PDR to adopt similar models. Even small contributions, multiplied by many guests, can create substantial impact. While this campaign runs for three months, we intend to learn from it and expand in the future,” he added.

“This partnership between UNFPA and Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane offers guests a meaningful way to support maternal and newborn health. While Laos has reduced maternal mortality, many women in remote areas still lack access to quality care. This campaign helps bridge gaps and advances the Sustainable Development Goals target of fewer than 70 maternal deaths per 100,000 births by 2030,” said Bakhtiyor Kadyrov, UNFPA Country Representative in Laos.

“I hope people see that supporting mothers and newborns is not just a health issue, it is about basic human rights. As someone representing Lao women, I am proud to support this campaign, and I hope it inspires more people to be part of positive change in our society,” said Phaimany “Papao” Lathsabanthao, Miss Universe Laos 2023 and first-ever Friend of UNFPA Laos.
