India’s First Ever Sports NFT Features Dinesh Karthik’s Iconic 2018 Nidahas Trophy Last-Ball Six

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 8 October 2021 – Cricketer Dinesh Karthik’s last-ball six in the 2018 India-Bangladesh match, the move that won India the Nidahas Trophy that year, is one of recent sporting history’s most iconic moments. This thrilling event has been captured in the form of India’s first ever sports NFT (non-fungible token), through a partnership with squash player Saurav Ghosal. Entitled “Six For The Win”, the digital art NFT will be available for public auction in October, and is an animated clip that showcases Karthik’s own thoughts as he faced down the opposing team in the game’s final minutes.

Speaking on the creative concept of the NFT, Karthik says, “That incredible experience for the India team, and for every one of our fans, happens to be Youtube’s most-watched sports video in the world. This shows what a precious memory it is for us all, and it was amazing to relive it and share it from my perspective through the process of this collaboration.” Ghosal and Karthik coordinated with tech partners in New York to produce the digital art, which features Karthik’s voiceover.

Speaking on what this means for the emerging market of NFTs in India, Ghosal says, “We hope that ‘Six For The Win’ will usher in an era of sporting NFTs. It’s very exciting for us to be pioneers in the Indian NFT space itself, which already has huge success in the USA and elsewhere. Non-fungible tokens are stored on a block-chain, like cryptocurrency, which means they can’t be exchanged or broken down, and you have an accurate history from provenance onwards so that they can’t be counterfeited. There is great potential here for digital art and other forms of memorabilia.”

On ‘Six For The Win’, Ghosal adds, “Between the unforgettable victory that this NFT celebrates and the distinction it enjoys as India’s very first sports NFT, this is a collector’s dream. We can expect that its value will appreciate over time, making it a superb investment. We are excited about making it available to bidders who are keen to explore this fast-growing market.”

The winning bidder at the auction will receive the autographed jersey that Karthik was wearing during the Nidahas Trophy match. The auction is open to public and will be held between 12th and 22nd October 2021 on https://rarible.com.

Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement 2021: Shop Social on the enhanced TECM MALL

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 8 October 2021 – Year 2021 marks the 10th Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement (TECM), organized by Fullness Social Enterprise Society (FSES). FSES is formed by a group of knowledge volunteers to support social innovation and social entrepreneurship development in Hong Kong for societal betterment. As TECM’s Ambassador, Ms Kelly Chen uses her voice to generate awareness and encourage the public to support local social enterprises through ethical consumption.

With this year’s theme – “Shop Social”, a series of integrated online and offline promotions has been organized to engage the public for ethical consumption. Better yet, the enhanced TECM MALL, Shopping Rewards Scheme, and a Christmas bazaar with local social enterprises will be launched so that everyone can practice their ethical consumption and in turn to change the world through consumption.

TECM MALL – the enhanced platform with various social enterprises’ products and services

Through the promotion of ethical consumption, TECM hopes that people from all walks of life can deepen their understanding of social enterprises and encourages the public to shift one-tenth of their daily consumption and shop at local social enterprises. Meanwhile, TECM also emphasizes two core values where ethical consumption should not be charity nor additional consumption. General public can fulfil their social responsibilities by simply shopping at a social enterprise.

To echo the theme “Shop Social”, the e-shopping platform TECM MALL has been extensively enhanced in order to stay ahead of the market trend and to facilitate the public to practice their ethical consumption. Features such as online payment has been added, with many more social enterprises joining the platform. With the enhanced features and varieties of products and services offered on the TECM MALL, the general public can now shop with ease and convenience.

In celebrating to the 10th anniversary of TECM, those who successfully registered on the tecmmall.hk website as email subscribers from September 29th to October 10th will receive a $110 discount! The official launch day of TECM MALL is October 11th, where you can use the discount code and shop freely. Sign up now to receive $110 discount and consume ethically at your fingertips to support local social enterprises.

Buy to Donate

The second phase of Consumption Vouchers from the government has been issued. Apart from shopping, have you ever thought of extending your helping hands and considered donating the vouchers to the needy? TECM MALL currently accepts Tap & Go payments to facilitate the use of consumption vouchers. Rather than only buying products for relatives, friends, or yourself, now you may also make donation purchases by buying any “Buy to Donate Gift Set” on the mall. The respective social enterprises will then deliver the gift set to those in need on your behalf. Not only can this support the meaningful work of social enterprises, it can also help the needy and convey love through consumption. The meaning of consumption is therefore beyond what it has ever been.

Shopping Rewards to Shop Social from Offline to Online

With multiple shopping rewards, TECM continues to partner up with over 100 social enterprises supporting the elderly, the disabled, grassroots women, chronically ill people, and etc. through the Shopping Rewards Scheme. Various promotions and discounts will be offered to social enterprises’ supporters. For anyone who shop at designated social enterprises from November 15th, 2021 to February 28th, 2022, they can earn a stamp for every HK$50 of purchases. With the number of stamps earned, consumers may redeem for additional products and coupons from social enterprises! Additional online discounts will also be provided to echo this year’s theme! Stay tuned and don’t miss any rewards!

Must-Go for Families! Preview on Christmas Bazaar with Social Enterprises

TECM will be hosting another key event this year – the family themed Christmas Bazaar. It will definitely be a family must-go event where an array of performances and workshops will be organized alongside with many booths selling special products and services from local social enterprises. Parents can take this opportunity to meet some of the local social enterprises and learn about their works with their children and thus cultivate the culture of caring for the disadvantaged, environment and more. In addition to “Shop Social”, we can also “Learn Social” at the same time! Take the first step in changing the world with ethical consumption and have an extraordinary and meaningful Christmas with your children!

TECM MALL : Featured Social Enterprises

TECM has brought together myriads of social enterprises, each of which has its own story and mission, yet shares the view of helping the needy in the city.

Amity

Martin established Amity in 2019. “Food for Good” summarizes his spirit of poverty alleviation. Their work ranges from regularly donating food or daily necessities in the North District of Hong Kong to relieve the burden of low-income families, to hiring the retired elderly, grassroots women, and the disadvantaged groups to make their own brand of Amity’s food series such as tea leaves, marshmallow biscuits, and other snacks. Amity encourages consumers to shop for social enterprise’s products which can indirectly give back to the needy. Furthermore, Amity progressively helps improve various community problems and is committed to assisting the subdivided households, solitary elders, and outsourced cleaners from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department in the North District. With the support from great partners, Amity was able to donate 4.5 tons of food and daily necessities to the needy last year, which is encouraging and worthy of further support.

Hair Rejuvenation

Hair Rejuvenation is a social enterprise well-known for its hair treatment, hair-dyeing, oil treatment, and ginger therapy in the way of traditional Chinese medicine. Amy, the founder of Hair Rejuvenation, was born with impaired hearing. She then realized the difficulty of finding employment for people with hearing loss, and thus determined to set up a social enterprise to help the disadvantaged groups on employment and also offer training to develop their work skills. In the meantime, Amy wishes to convey the message that people with hearing loss can communicate as effectively as ordinary people without boundaries and that their ability is no different from the ordinary. Upon training, the employees of Hair Rejuvenation are often praised by customers for their attentive service, in which it is the perfect proof that people with hearing loss can also work as diligently.

The Third Day

The Third Day is a social enterprise that uses “Do Nothing Farming” to maintain the ecological balance of the farmland and sustain the biodiversity of the area. The founders Alfred and Vasco believe that the best tea needs to be grown in an all-natural way, where the land is preserved as its original and natural state so that the tea can always grow in the purest environment and retain the pure natural taste for a long time. The Third Day also introduces the benefits of natural planting to ethnic minority farmers in the northern Thailand. By doing so, they are able to share the technology with them so the farmers can further improve their lives. In addition, they also cooperates with other local social enterprises to launch different products, which can not only help the restoration of land in northern Thailand but also take actions in sending blessings to those in need in Hong Kong.

Other featured social enterprises on TECM MALL

She encourages the public to discuss menstrual affairs and treat their body comfortably. Zoe also teaches the making of cloth menstrual pads  and holds workshops on menstruation and body.

Grow Something

There are countless ways to reduce the carbon footprint. Grow Something has chosen urban planting and greening in several unused spaces, such as public spaces and buildings’ rooftops and platforms, whether they are industrial, commercial, or residential. Grow Something also provides fresh organic vegetables as their way in giving back to society, and above all, reduce carbon emissions in the long run.

StarUp Wonders

StarUp Wonders is founded and operated by a group of parents. It is committed to bring together people from all walks of life to create a platform so that adolescents with intellectual disabilities can thrive through art. The Big Hygiene Reset: New research reveals almost 1 in 2 people would leave a public venue if it did not appear to have good hygiene measures in place

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 8 October 2021 – Rentokil Initial has released a new global hygiene report, The Global Hygiene Reset, examining the pandemic’s influence on people’s attitudes, behaviours and expectations about hygiene. The world’s leading pest control and hygiene services provider surveyed 20,000 people across 20 countries in EMEA, APAC and AMER to build a global perspective.

Key findings

  • 70% of people surveyed have higher hygiene expectations of themselves because of the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 74% said that they are now more concerned that other people’s poor hand hygiene could put their health at risk than before the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 74% responded that they are now more aware of germ hotspots than before the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 71% agree that they are now more fearful of the spread of germs via the surfaces they touch than before the pandemic
  • 71% of respondents are concerned about whether a venue has adequate measures in place to stop the spread of germs

The Global Hygiene Reset report provides unique insights into how individuals have adapted their hygiene behaviours because of the COVID-19 pandemic and sheds light on the multiple ways the benchmark for “good hygiene” has shifted as a response. A renowned psychologist, bestselling author and broadcaster, provides expert analysis in the report.

Over the past 18 months, public health advice has emphasised the importance of better hygiene practices involving hand, surface and air hygiene. This has led to a greater awareness of hygiene, how easily pathogens spread and the clear hygiene practices needed to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and other common viruses, such as influenza and norovirus.

  • 72% of people surveyed are now more concerned about the spread of germs via the air they breathe indoors in a public venue than before the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 74% of respondents say they would now like reassurance that the surfaces they are touching in a public venue are disinfected regularly

The survey reveals a new benchmark in hygiene expectations and that many of the practices adopted by people to keep themselves and others safe have become second nature and are likely to remain.

The global pattern shows that people wash their hands more now (66%) to protect themselves from common viruses than they did before the COVID-19 pandemic and that they’re likely to do this more in future (66%). This increased expectation of good hygiene practices will continue to impact the way we live our lives and the way we work.

Businesses that embrace this shift in the fundamental mindset and implement integrated hygiene strategies – not only for hand hygiene but for surfaces and clean air as well – will be better placed to protect the health and safety of staff and customers, keeping them reassured and giving them the confidence to return to their premises.

Amanda Jackson, Global Head of Category, Hygiene & Wellbeing from Rentokil Initial commented on this paradigm shift in expectations.  “Regardless of where we live and work, the implications of the increased awareness of and appreciation for hygiene will have a ripple effect on our society for the coming decades.  From avoiding frequently touched surfaces to concerns about poor indoor air quality, the research shows that people feel hygiene must be at the forefront of decisions made by organisations and businesses across the globe. Good hygiene practices will continue to be essential to living a more comfortable, productive and healthier life. Results from our survey show that 71% of people are concerned about whether a venue has adequate measures in place to stop the spread of germs. An integrated approach to hygiene can help put their minds at rest and keep them safe.”

Deutsche Post AG Sees Strong Q3 2021 And Will Raise Guidance

BONN, GERMANY – EQS Newswire – 7 October 2021 – Disclosure of inside information pursuant to Article 17 MAR

Management has today assessed the preliminary group results for the month of September and hence Q3 2021 as well as the outlook for the remainder of the year.

The positive development of the group’s businesses seen in the first half of the year has continued well through the third quarter 2021. Q3 volume trends confirm base assumptions with continued well supported B2B recovery and B2C volumes staying at high previous year levels across all major networks. At the same time the tight capacity situation both in Ocean and Air Freight markets continued. For Q3 2021 the EBIT performance is forming out as follows:

Preliminary group EBIT reached around EUR 1.765 billion in Q3 2021 (Q3 2020: EUR 1.377 billion), bringing the EBIT of the first nine months of this year to around EUR 5.760 billion. As a reminder, Q3 2020 came including EUR -163 million for the one-time pandemic bonus; in this year’s Q3 there is an effect of EUR -179 million with a similar distribution across the divisions. Related payment is expected in Q4.

The divisional results in Q3 in detail:

EBIT in the Express division reached around EUR 970 million in the third quarter of 2021 compared to previous year’s Q3 of EUR 753 million.

EBIT in Global Forwarding, Freight stood at around EUR 370 million in Q3 2021, also clearly ahead of previous year’s Q3 of EUR 155 million.

EBIT at Supply Chain came in at around EUR 140 million in Q3 2021, significantly above last year’s Q3 result which stood at EUR 112 million.

Also, eCommerce Solutions recorded Q3 2021 EBIT of around EUR 90 million. It was at EUR 76 million in Q3 2020.

EBIT in Post & Parcel Germany in Q3 2021 was around EUR 300 million (Q3 2020: EUR 320 million).

Group Functions/Consolidation recorded a result of around EUR -105 million in Q3 2021; last year’s Q3 reached EUR -39 million including positive effects in the context of the StreetScooter repositioning.

The continued positive business development is underpinned by a continued equally strong development of cash flow; free cash flow in Q3 2021 amounted to more than EUR 1.0 billion. In Q3 2020 this figure was at EUR 1.264 billion. For the first nine months of 2021 Free Cash Flow now stands at more than EUR 3.1 billion versus EUR 1.460 billion last year.

In light of the continued positive earnings momentum also in Q3 2021, management will raise guidance for FY 2021 Group EBIT and FCF, driven by the strong development in the DHL divisions. Also, the mid-term guidance for FY 2023 will be subject to upward revision.

The revised guidance will be published with the formal release of Q3 2021 earnings on November 4th 2021.

The comprehensive disclosure for Q3/9M 2021 will be released on November 4th 2021 as planned.
