Zimmer Biomet Wins Three Awards at Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards 2026

Awards Recognize Innovations in Infection Measures, AI-Driven Recovery and Surgeon Engagement across Asia Pacific.

SINGAPORE, March 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Zimmer Biomet (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global medical technology leader, today announced it received three awards at the Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards 2026, recognizing the company’s innovations across orthopedic product development, digital health and surgeon engagement.

Zimmer Biomet earned honors in the following categories:

  • Orthopedic Product Innovation Award for its new iodine-treated hip implant;
  • Digital Innovation of the Year in Australia for its WalkAI knee replacement recovery tracking platform; and
  • Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year in Thailand for its You’ll Be Back awareness campaign featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the company’s Chief Movement Officer.

“These awards reflect the strength of Zimmer Biomet’s innovation and the relevance of our solutions across Asia Pacific,” said Sang Yi, Group President, Asia Pacific. “From addressing infection risk with advanced implant technologies, to enabling more proactive, data-driven recoveries and strengthening how we engage surgeons, we are focused on solving the most meaningful health care challenges and improving outcomes for patients across the region.”

Advancing Infection Measures in Orthopedics
Zimmer Biomet received the Orthopedic Product Innovation Award for its implants treated with iodine technology, the iTaperloc Complete and iG7 Hip System. These implants are designed to inhibit bacterial adhesion1,2 and reduce the risk of periprosthetic joint infection, a serious complication affecting approximately 1%–2% of primary procedures.3

Iodine, a biocompatible nutrient, helps prevent biofilm formation without contributing to antibiotic resistance.4,5 The technology has received regulatory recognition globally, including approval from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in September 2025 and Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in October 2025.

Advancing Recovery Through AI
Zimmer Biomet’s WalkAI platform received the Digital Innovation of the Year – Australia award. The application uses artificial intelligence to analyze real-world mobility data and predict a patient’s 90-day gait speed following total knee replacement surgery.

By identifying deviations in recovery between days 15 and 40 post-surgery, a typically “lower-touch” period in care, WalkAI is designed to flag patients who may not be recovering as expected and enable earlier clinical intervention. This added visibility allows surgeons to prioritize patients who may require closer monitoring or adjustments to rehabilitation, helping reduce the risk of complications.

The platform is currently used by more than 180 surgeons across Australia and New Zealand to support over 20,000 knee replacement patients, demonstrating strong clinical adoption and scalability in practice.

Raising Awareness of Movement and Treatment Options
The Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year – Thailand award recognized the “You’ll Be Back” campaign, which builds on Zimmer Biomet’s partnership with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the company’s Chief Movement Officer.

Launched at the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand Annual Conference, the campaign was adapted specifically for a highly regulated market through close collaboration across corporate communications, marketing, legal and compliance teams. Rather than focusing on product promotion, the initiative centered on the importance of movement and aimed to raise awareness of available treatment options for people living with pain.

The message resonated strongly by shifting conversations beyond products toward recovery, longevity and quality of life. The campaign significantly increased engagement, with booth interactions tripling year over year and strong resonance among surgeons.

The Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards recognize leading companies and innovations across the region, highlighting advancements in medical devices, digital health and patient care solutions.

Exito Media Concepts Announces the 31st Global Edition of the Cyber Security Summit Australia 2026

Scaling Digital Transformation: Innovation with Trust

14 April 2026 | Sofitel, Sydney

SYDNEY, March 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Australia continues to position itself as a global leader in digital innovation, with organisations across industries rapidly embracing cloud computing, digital banking, artificial intelligence, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives. While these advancements are driving economic growth and operational efficiency, they are also expanding the cyber threat landscape—making cybersecurity resilience a critical priority for enterprises and government institutions alike.

Ranked among the world’s leading cyber nations, Australia is currently the fifth most powerful cyber nation globally. This position is supported by a rapidly growing cybersecurity market, valued at USD 7.09 billion in 2024 and projected to reach USD 16.52 billion by 2029. However, the nation’s expanding digital footprint also presents increasing risks, with cybercrime incidents reported approximately every seven minutes—highlighting the urgent need for stronger cyber defence mechanisms and proactive security strategies.

Curated by Exito Media Concepts—a global leader in B2B technology platforms—the Cyber Security Summit Australia brings together cybersecurity leaders, government representatives, and industry experts to foster strategic discussions on strengthening Australia’s cyber resilience. By combining global best practices with regional insights, the summit supports organisations in building robust security frameworks while enabling secure and sustainable digital innovation.

As businesses across Australia accelerate digital adoption, protecting sensitive data, securing critical infrastructure, and ensuring regulatory compliance have become top priorities for both public and private sector organisations. The increasing sophistication of cyber threats—from ransomware attacks and phishing campaigns to advanced persistent threats—is compelling enterprises to rethink their cybersecurity strategies and adopt more proactive, intelligence-driven security models.

The 31st Global Edition of the Cyber Security Summit Australia 2026 will serve as a strategic platform for cybersecurity leaders to exchange insights, share real-world experiences, and explore practical solutions to safeguard digital assets and strengthen Australia’s cyber defence capabilities.

Australia as a Global Cybersecurity Leader and Digital Innovation Hub

As one of the most digitally advanced economies in the Asia-Pacific region, Australia continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital innovation and cybersecurity. Strong growth across sectors such as financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, e-commerce, and government digital services has enabled the country to build a highly connected digital ecosystem that supports both economic development and technological advancement.

However, this rapid expansion has also broadened Australia’s cyber risk landscape. Organisations are increasingly prioritising cybersecurity investments to safeguard sensitive data, maintain customer trust, and ensure operational continuity in an increasingly complex threat environment.

In response to these challenges, the Australian Government introduced the 2023–2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy—a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing cyber resilience, improving threat intelligence capabilities, and strengthening collaboration between government and industry. Investments in advanced technologies such as cloud security, identity management, threat intelligence platforms, and AI-driven threat detection are becoming essential components of modern cybersecurity strategies.

Recognising these developments, Exito Media Concepts continues to bring its globally recognised Cyber Security Summit series to Australia, providing a powerful platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration between local cybersecurity leaders and global technology innovators.

Australia’s BFSI Sector at the Forefront of Digital Innovation

As institutions accelerate their digital transformation journeys, the adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, and automation is reshaping how financial services are delivered.

The rise of fintech companies and digital-first banking models has intensified competition across the industry, prompting traditional institutions to rethink their operating models and prioritise innovation. Increasing customer expectations for seamless digital experiences, personalised services, and secure transactions are driving significant investment in modern technology infrastructure and agile strategies.

At the same time, organisations must address challenges related to regulatory compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity risks, and the integration of legacy systems with modern platforms. Case Study: Driving Digital Transformation in Australia’s Banking Sector

A leading Australian banking institution recently undertook a comprehensive digital transformation initiative to modernise its legacy systems and enhance customer experience across its digital platforms. With customer expectations continuing to evolve, the organisation identified the need to upgrade its technology infrastructure and adopt more agile operating models.

The institution implemented a cloud-first strategy to improve scalability and operational efficiency, enabling faster deployment of new digital services. By integrating advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence into its operations, the bank gained deeper insights into customer behaviour and delivered more personalised financial solutions.

Automation technologies were introduced to streamline core banking processes, reduce manual intervention, and improve service delivery speed. Simultaneously, the organisation strengthened its cybersecurity framework to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

To support this transformation, the bank invested in workforce upskilling initiatives, enabling employees to adapt to new technologies and digital workflows. This holistic approach allowed the institution to modernise operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and remain competitive in Australia’s rapidly evolving financial landscape.

Unisound Posts Strong First Annual Results Since Listing: Revenue Surges Nearly 30%, H2 Loss Narrows Significantly by Over 90%, Profitability in Sight, Charting a New Course in Native Agentic AI

HONG KONG, March 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Unisound (09678.HK) announced its audited annual results for the year ended December 31, 2025. As the Company’s first annual results announcement since listing, it underscores strong growth momentum and continued improvement in its financial profile.

Revenue Mix Continues to Improve, with Faster Growth in H2

For the full year of 2025, Unisound achieved total revenue of $175 million, representing a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 29%. Revenue in the second half of the year increased by 33% YoY to $117 million.

It is worth noting that the Company’s large language model (LLM) business generated a full-year revenue of $88.43 million, surging by over 10 times YoY. In particular, this business contributed approximately $72.49 million in H2 revenue, five times the level recorded in H1, demonstrating a compelling capacity for large-scale commercial application.

Losses Narrowed Significantly, Making the Path to Profitability Increasingly Clear

Alongside the rapid revenue growth, the Company’s losses improved markedly. In the second half of 2025, the Company’s net loss narrowed by 84% YoY, and its adjusted loss narrowed by 92% YoY, approaching break-even. This reflects the Company’s ongoing improvements in cost control and operational efficiency.

Simultaneously, some of the Company’s operating metrics saw marked improvement. The adjusted expense ratio declined significantly by 10 percentage points YoY, while selling expenses decreased rather than increased and accounted for only 5.4%, highlighting a clear improvement in cost-to-efficiency ratio. In 2025, revenue per employee reached $365,300, up 25% YoY from $292,900 in 2024. Employee productivity continued to lead the industry, clearly underscoring the Company’s core strengths in technology-driven, lean operations.

Dual-Engine Strategy Gains Traction, with AI in Healthcare and AI in Daily Life Advancing in Tandem

In 2025, driven by both technological breakthroughs and policy tailwinds, global demand for AI continued to rise. Unisound adhered to its “Strong Foundation Model + Deep Application” strategy, continued to strengthen its multimodal technology foundation, and drove the continuous elevation of the global influence of its proprietary large model matrix in fields such as healthcare, speech, and OCR.

On the commercialization front, the Company leveraged its AI-native organization to accelerate business execution, and its dual-engine strategy in AI in Healthcare and AI in Daily Life delivered notable results. During the reporting period:

The AI in Daily Life business achieved revenue of $140 million, a YoY increase of 30.8%. Among this, the Transportation segment recorded nearly 40% YoY growth. At present, AI agent applications based on the Shanhai large model have been deployed in more than 10 cities, including Qingdao, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Nanning. In addition, cumulative AI chip shipments exceeded 110 million units, further validating the Company’s scale capabilities in endpoint AI products.

The AI in Healthcare business achieved revenue of $35.38 million, a YoY increase of 22.3%, with average revenue per customer growing by 53.2% YoY. In 2025, over 70% of the hospitals the Company collaborated with were tertiary hospitals, and more than one-third of customers had maintained continuous cooperation for over three years. The medical-record entry and generation products powered by the medical large model delivered a 10-fold YoY increase in full-annual medical record generation at a single campus of a leading Class III hospital. The commercial insurance AI agent platform recorded a 37-fold YoY increase in case processing volume. In deep cooperation with a leading insurance group, the expense control rate was effectively raised to approximately 20%, delivering more than $145 million in incremental cost management compared with traditional review methods, comprehensively empowering insurance institutions to refine their medical risk management operations.

Continued R&D Investment Strengthens the Technology Moat

To consolidate its industry-leading position, the Company continued to invest heavily in R&D in 2025. Full-year R&D expenses exceeded $55.09 million, accounting for 75% of the Company’s adjusted operating expenses, while R&D personnel accounted for 69% of the total workforce. This sustained investment drove breakthroughs across multiple technology areas. For example, in the MedBench 4.0 evaluation, the Company ranked first place in three technical paradigms: “Medical AI Agent,” “Medical Large Language Model,” and “Medical Multimodal Large Model,” earning a “Triple Crown.”

Outlook: Deepening the Technological Foundation and Expanding Application Boundaries

Looking ahead, Unisound will continue to deepen its “Strong Foundation Model + Deep Application” strategy. On the technological front, the Company will continue to increase strategic investment in foundational large models and strive to maintain a world-class level. On the application front, it will use the large-scale expansion of MaaS (Model-as-a-Service) and AI agents as its core growth engine, driving exponential growth in its AI in Daily Life and AI in Healthcare businesses. Meanwhile, the Company is actively exploring the establishment of a recurring revenue system through models such as API calls and Token-based billing, and regards opportunities in consumer-facing (C-end) products as a second growth curve to further expand its commercialization boundaries.

Between Q2 and Q3 2026, Unisound will launch a native AI agent large model for programming and office applications, which is expected to double both intelligence density and token production efficiency.

Through these initiatives, the Group aims to foster a more balanced product mix and a diversified geographic customer base.

In June 2025, the Group reached a new milestone with the acquisition of the majority shareholding of the Company by Meta-Wisdom Tech Limited, a holding company focused on healthcare. Leveraging extensive industry experience and technological expertise, the Company has built a solid foundation in sustainable development and related applications, gradually extending its footprint into the healthcare sector. This partnership will further integrate resources and accelerate the commercialization of healthcare solutions. The Group aims to establish a health monitoring ecosystem tailored to foreseeable home care scenarios, while continuing to advance strategic initiatives in the healthcare sector, optimize resource allocation and partnership networks, and expand its range of products, services and integrated solutions to address the evolving market needs.

On 22 September 2025, the Group further incorporated a wholly-owned limited liability company in Hong Kong, Orbiva Limited (“Orbiva”), to further expand its healthcare businesses. Orbiva focuses on developing AIoT-enabled home healthcare platforms, ecosystems and healthcare management products and the provision of healthcare operation services.

Prospects

Global inflationary pressures have eased, but the geographical tensions, including the Russia-Ukraine and Middle East conflicts, as well as the volatility of US policy on global trade, continue to pose market uncertainty. These factors may impede customer resumptions of new projects and consumer acquisitions. The Group will pay continuous attention to the situation, adhere to government measures and recommendations, continue to mitigate foreseeable risks with all sites and subsidiaries, and endeavor to operate with minimal impact on any function serving the business and the customers.

Mr. Rick Siu, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, commented, “Despite the challenging market environment, we are pleased to have delivered another year of strong performance, with growth in both revenue and net profit. This achievement reflects not only our disciplined cost management, but also our continued commitment to reinvesting in the future, particularly through increased allocation of resources to R&D, sales forces expansion, as well as supply chain improvement to support our core businesses.

At the same time, we are actively expanding into the home healthcare segment, aiming to build an integrated suite of AIoT-enabled solutions and platforms that promote healthier home environments and enable real-time, data-driven healthcare management. To advance our initiative, we have signed a memorandum of understanding between Orbiva and Nanyang Technological University to co-develop secure AIoT-enabled healthcare platforms. Together with the IP License Agreement for AI-assisted home-care intelligence agents, the collaboration represents a concrete step in executing our strategic vision. We remain committed to deploying the net proceeds from the Placement as planned, with a significant portion allocated to R&D to accelerate the development of digital twin applications and secure health management devices, further strengthening our innovation capabilities and long-term growth prospects.”

The “It’s Time 4 European Beef” Campaign Was Very Well Received in Singapore in 2025, and Expectations Are High for 2026

As part of the European campaign “It’s Time For European Beef”, the promotional activities carried out in 2025 and those currently underway in 2026 are reinforcing the positive image held by both Singaporean meat importers and end consumers, who appreciate the quality, tenderness, flavour and naturalness of our meat, as well as its rigorous production process, the European Production Model

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 26 March 2026 – The year 2025 was a very successful and strategically significant phase for the “It’s Time 4 European Beef” campaign in the Singapore market. Throughout the year, the campaign implemented a comprehensive program combining market intelligence, professional engagement, culinary education, and immersive experiential activities. “It’s Time For European Beef” in 2025: strategic engagement and experiential activities reinforce the position of European Beef in Singapore

Field activities in Singapore began in May with a visit by the Provacuno team, kicking off the scheduled activities with a visit to one processor in Singapore.

This visit allowed campaign representatives to gain first-hand knowledge of Singapore’s market.

The exchange generated valuable market feedback and confirmed the high suitability of European beef for Singapore’s high-end catering and retail channels.

During the same trip, the Provacuno expedition (campaign leader with co-financing from the EU) organized a master cooking class culinary training institution in Singapore. Michelin-starred chefs Rafael Centeno Moyer and Héctor Sanz Pedraja demonstrated the versatility and performance of European Beef through a series of recipes, followed by a hands-on cooking session with students. This activity engaged future culinary professionals, reinforced technical knowledge, and positioned European beef as a high-quality ingredient for haute cuisine and contemporary gastronomy.

To conclude the series of events, a cooking demonstration was held at Alkaff Mansion. The event brought together 51 professionals from across the restaurant ecosystem, including importers, distributors, retailers, chefs, restaurateurs, media representatives, and key opinion leaders. The program combined product and campaign presentations, live cooking demonstrations, and selected tastings of European beef cuts.

The event generated strong professional engagement, strengthened relationships within the sector, and opened up concrete opportunities for future collaboration in the Singapore market.

To conclude the activities of the second year of the campaign, a study trip to Spain was organized from September 28 to October 2.

Six leading Singaporean companies representing importers, distributors, high-end food retailers, and the media participated in this immersive initiative. The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the European production model, including farms, slaughterhouses, processing facilities, wholesale markets, and high-end restaurants.

The study trip to Europe significantly improved participants’ understanding of the fundamental pillars of European beef, including food safety, traceability, sustainability, and production control. Participants’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many highlighted the high quality and taste of the products, the transparency of the production chain, and the strong alignment between European standards and Singapore market requirements. Several participants identified specific business opportunities and expressed a clear interest in European Beef.

Overall, the “It’s Time For European Beef” campaign in Singapore during 2025 succeeded in raising awareness, strengthening professional confidence, and consolidating the reputation of European beef as a premium, reliable, and value-added product. The European beef segment in Singapore remains strong, supported by sustained demand and a high level of interest from both professionals and consumers.

Market positioning and positive trends

Beyond the direct results of these activities, the Singapore market continues to show strong and sustained demand for European beef. Singapore’s role as a regional gastronomic hub, combined with high purchasing power, advanced cold chain infrastructure, and a mature professional catering sector, creates a very favorable environment for premium European products.

There is a growing appreciation among Singaporean professionals and consumers for attributes such as origin, traceability, transparency in production, and culinary consistency.

European Beef fits these expectations perfectly and is increasingly perceived as a premium ingredient and strategic product for differentiation in haute cuisine, upscale casual dining, and high-end retail.

Looking ahead, European Beef from Spain is well positioned to consolidate and expand its presence in Singapore through continued collaboration with importers, chefs, culinary institutions, and opinion leaders. The positive trends observed in 2025 indicate strong potential for sustained growth, greater market penetration, and long-term commercial partnerships.

“It’s Time For European Beef” 2026: Outlook for upcoming activities in Singapore

Building on the strong results achieved in 2025, the “It’s Time For European Beef” campaign will continue its development in Singapore throughout 2026 through a series of high-impact activities designed to further increase awareness, engagement, and interest in European beef.

Participation in Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) in April 2026 will provide high visibility for European Beef, at the leading trade fair for the food and hotel sector in Southeast Asia. The campaign booth will serve as a central platform for direct interaction with importers, distributors, chefs, and food industry professionals, while showcasing product quality, cuts, and culinary applications.

At the same time, a tasting event will be organized in an exhibition hall dedicated to key players in Singapore’s meat and catering industry. The event, which will showcase European beef and Michelin-starred chefs, will combine live cooking demonstrations, tastings, and professional exchanges. The aim is to deepen knowledge of the product, demonstrate its performance in high-end gastronomy, and stimulate concrete commercial discussions with decision-makers in the sector.
