Max Lee, Chairman of the Board of MegazoneCloud, and Hosung Lee, CEO of Hana Bank, signed a Strategic Business Cooperation Agreement at Hana Bank’s headquarters in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul. The agreement outlines collaboration in the AI cloud market and expanded support for financial services.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to:

  • Provide import and export trade finance to support MegazoneCloud’s planned large-scale imports of GPU and NPU servers for the construction of AI data centers, in line with the Korean government’s Global Top 3 AI initiative.
  • Identify and jointly develop converged business models that combine both companies’ technologies and services across finance, cloud, and AI.

In particular, Hana Bank plans to consider not only financial support for GPU and NPU server imports, but also direct and indirect equity investments as part of the partnership.

Through this collaboration, the companies aim to strengthen the technological competitiveness of MegazoneCloud—Asia’s largest cloud managed service provider (MSP)—while also supporting the growth of domestic big tech and semiconductor companies facing constraints in securing GPU supplies.

Joint Development Project (JDP) launched to develop 1MW-class ammonia-to-power system for future low- and zero-carbon vessels

SEOUL, South Korea, Jan. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In a tripartite collaboration, VINSSEN, a maritime specialist in hydrogen fuel cells and integrated system solutions, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), and Amogy, a global ammonia-to-power solutions provider, have signed a Joint Development Project (JDP) agreement to develop and commercialize the Ammonia-to-Power Pack for ships. The project aims to support stricter environmental regulations under the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and advance a Next-Generation Product (NGP, tentative name) for future low- and zero-carbon vessels.

The system is designed to replace conventional marine diesel generators. It converts ammonia into hydrogen, which powers proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) to produce electricity without combustion. 

Ammonia is considered a promising fuel for ocean-going vessels due to its high energy density, ease of liquefaction and suitability as a hydrogen carrier. The system converts ammonia into hydrogen onboard, allowing large vessels to generate electricity efficiently without emitting carbon dioxide. The NGP is designed to have dimensions comparable to existing marine engines, allowing installation on the ocean-going large cargo ships with minimal modifications to ship design.

With close to 150 guests expected to attend, the evening will bring RSYC’s storied past to life, through an exclusive heritage exhibition tracing the Club’s evolution across two centuries. A heritage exhibition will showcase immersive displays, rare artefacts and over 80 historic trophies, honouring RSYC’s role in shaping Singapore’s maritime and sporting culture (Please refer to Appendix A for Programme Flow).

Founded in 1826 as the Singapore Yacht Club, RSYC has evolved alongside the nation’s own journey. It received royal patronage from King George V in 1922 and became the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club in 1967 following independence, during which then President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Yusof bin Ishak, became the first Singaporean Patron, marking a significant milestone for the club.
