Reckitt’s ‘Durex Ocamp’ Online Campaign Won ‘Best Idea – Customer Acquisition – Bronze Award’ In Markies Awards 2022
Social-Driven Campaign Rejuvenated Youth Market With Double-Digit Growth In E-Commerce
HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 14 July 2022 – Reckitt’s brand Durex is proud to be honoured ‘Best Idea – Customer Acquisition – Bronze Award’ for its success brought by the ‘Durex Ocamp’ online campaign in the ‘MARKies Awards 2022’ organised by Marketing Magazine, an authoritative marketing magazine across Asia. The award recognised Durex’s outstanding performance in applying the best creative ideas into an integrated campaign to expand consumer base amongst the younger generation with double-digit business growth in e-commerce.

Social distancing measures under the COVID-19 pandemic have brought significant challenges to university students since 2020. Cancelling physical classes and orientation activities deprived students’ opportunities to socialise. Recognising that students often meet their first love during university life, Durex launched ‘Durex Ocamp’ online campaign (the Campaign) from September to October 2021 to inspire university students to ‘Start Loving with Durex’. The Campaign leveraged interactive functions on Instagram, the most popular social media platform among youngsters, to transform traditional university networking platforms such as orientation camps (Ocamp) and societies into the first-ever Durex online Ocamp and Durex Club, where university students can get prepared for starting school life and developing intimate relationships despite the physical boundaries of social distancing.
Durex launched the Campaign with a series of well-known Ocamp games such as black magic and city hunt on Instagram through interactive features on Instagram stories and quickly connected with young consumers. The brand also established ‘Durex Club’, a new student society at eight universities, to further energised university students with the Durex Ocamp Starter Pack, which included game cards and Durex product samples as induction gifts. Designed like a party popper, the Starter Pack not only celebrated a new chapter of life but also enriched students’ knowledge and the importance of developing safe and healthy intimate relationships.
Through highly relevant and interactive experiences, the Campaign has achieved remarkable performance on social media by engaging over 48,600 youngsters in its online activities and reaching nearly 960,000 audiences through different promotional activities. Furthermore, number of Durex Club members increased by 55% within one month compared to the full year in 2020, with the membership profile down from an average age of 30+ to 25+. The highly social-driven campaign also boosted Durex’s e-commerce sales with double-digit growth compared with the same period in 2020, a key milestone to the Company’s success in effectively rejuvenating the brand and driving business growth.
“We are excited to be recognised by the MARKies Awards for this campaign,” said Boudewijn Feith, Reckitt General Manager Hong Kong/Taiwan. “The award is a testimony of Durex’s success in deploying a strategic and creative approach, together with the excellent execution for leveraging social media to engage young consumers, effectively preparing them for many new starts amid the pandemic. Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen Durex’s leading position in advocating intimate wellness, especially by bringing young consumers on-board with innovative ideas and partnerships, in order to uphold our purpose to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world.”

Appier maximized online sales for Clarins during holiday seasons
Clarins Hong Kong named Bronze Winner of “Best Use of Real-time Marketing” at The Markies Awards 2022
TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Media OutReach – 14 July 2022 – Appier is glad to share the Clarins Hong Kong e-commerce prospecting & retargeting campaign results in collaboration with global omnichannel agency, Assembly. This case was named the Bronze Winner of the Best Use of Real-time Marketing at the Markies Awards 2022 presented by Asia’s leading advertising, marketing and news media “Marketing Interactive.” The award aims to recognize the most innovative, creative and effective campaigns or projects spanning Hong Kong’s entire marketing services industry. Based on the joint efforts of Appier and Assembly, Clarins Hong Kong won this award for its effective use of real-time MarTech tools during the holiday sales seasons by successfully acquiring new shoppers more efficiently and maximizing revenue from existing campaigns.

In this campaign, Clarins leveraged Appier’s CrossX and AiDeal solutions to successfully reduce the CPA of its campaigns by 30% and increased the CVR by 44% during the campaign period from Q3 to Q4 2021. With Appier’s AI solutions, Clarins significantly improved how it targeted customers and how it converted them into buyers.
As a long-established name in the beauty industry, Clarins is dedicated to providing the best products with organic plant extracts to its customers. To maintain its momentum in the beauty market, Clarins established its own e-commerce shop to discover more potential and valuable shoppers among its main target audience: 25+ year-old females. Through the collaboration with Appier and Assembly, Clarins was able to acquire new users in a more efficient way. Appier’s CrossX predicted and targeted high-value shoppers who are likely to buy the company’s products, while AiDeal provided to these shoppers who were hesitant about purchasing with timely and relevant incentives.
“In general, AI is useful, but sometimes it requires more practical and more scenario-based explanations and applications. To Clarins, AI initially seemed to be a topic that those who do not have a technical background would never understand. However, with Appier’s AI-powered solutions, Clarins was able to easily engage with the right target audiences at the right moment with the right promotional messages,” said Caroline Andreutti, Digital, E-Commerce & CRM Director of Clarins. With an increasingly crowded online shopping market, Clarins faced the challenge of reaching more valuable online shoppers whose attention span has gotten shorter. Its lack of any marketing automation tool compounded this challenge because Clarins needed an efficient way to analyze millions of data signals, to identify high-value shoppers and display captivating messages to them at the right time.
“The crowded and competitive environment of the beauty and skincare category meant that we needed a more targeted strategy for Clarins to deliver an enhanced shopping experience for its customers. Appier’s AI solutions allowed us to better design our media touchpoints that delivered a more customized and personal experience,” said Karen Fu, Digital Director of Assembly.
Appier’s CrossX AI solution helped Clarins identify high-value shoppers with the analysis of existing customers’ interests and behaviors, allowing Clarins to scale up their campaigns accordingly. The campaign successfully reduced its CPA by 30% by displaying campaign ads only to this valuable target customer segment who is likely to purchase.
On the other hand, Clarins hoped to maximize online revenue from existing campaigns while preserving brand image and value. Clarins also hoped to reach the right shoppers with the right incentive at the right time for a higher conversion rate by using a strategic approach to convert more online visitors into shoppers. With this in mind, Clarins used Appier’s AiDeal solution to predict shopper purchase intent by collecting behavioral data and calculating each user’s level of hesitancy.
Through this approach, Clarins was able to identify hesitant shoppers using Appier’s AI technology. AiDeal assisted Clarins in presenting a pop-up with a time-limited special gift promotion instead of a discount promotion to trigger hesitant buyers to purchase. Furthermore, by offering brand-featured or top-rated products as incentives, Clarins could increase cart value, resulting in additional sales and a 44% increase in CVR. Most importantly, Clarins was able to boost CVR during two major holidays – Double 11 and Christmas – and maintain momentum after the big sales seasons.

Amazing Night Portraits TECNO CAMON 19 Debuts in India
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pJfqbJ80_4
Highlight 1. Drones livened things up.
Hundreds of drones took off in the dark forming the shapes of flower and torch which shimmered red and yellow, implying victory and joy, and in a light bulb pattern. TECNO always insists on continuously innovating.
Then the slogan “GLOW INTO THE NIGHT” and “CAMON 19” flashed in turn in the sky. After that, the camera lens was displayed before the mobile phone body appeared, demonstrating the function of “clear night portraits”. The chip and battery patterns also flashed in the night sky alternately, so were the 18W fast charge and 5,000mAh battery of CAMON 19.
As the “INDIA” and “TECNO” patterns lifted, the big show came to an end. Such a romantic show with a strong technological sense was successfully presented thanks to technicians’ precise calculations and countless drills. The video is now posted on TECNO’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account.
Highlight 2. CAMON 19 will “occupy” Indian landmarks.
To promote CAMON 19 in the Indian market, hoardings will be displayed at many Indian landmarks, including DLF Mall in Nodia, Vasant Vihar Market in Delhi, GVK One Mall in Hyderabad, Vastrapur Lake Gate in Ahmedabad, etc.
CAMON 19, to which TECNO attaches importance, is no “ordinary” smartphone. It has won the German iF Design Awards 2022, one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world, for its industry-first slimmest bezel of 0.98mm.
The industry-first 64MP with RGBW sensor is also the core selling point of CAMON 19. How to use RGBW to get best lowlight pictures? Turn on the Super Night Filter on the upper right corner in Super Night Mode and press the shutter to easily freeze the extraordinary night scene.
CAMON 19 is equipped with a new multi-dimensional hybrid portrait scene, supplemented by 18 kinds of AI Scene Recognition. By integrating camera training data through 1-million-photo tests, the picture is more transparent with excellent details such as brightness, noise, sharpness, displaying night portraits more directly.
The reason for delving into night portraits is that the multi-cultural TECNO is committed to making CAMON 19 show the most beautiful and real locals. Presumably this perfect combination of fashion and technology, CAMON 19, will definitely go wild in India!

Hongkong Land’s 1.5°C aligned science-based targets approved
- Sixth Hong Kong-headquartered company to secure approval
- Validation secured in less than four months
HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 14 July 2022 – Hongkong Land today announced that its 1.5°C aligned near-term science-based targets (“SBTs”) to reduce greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (“SBTi”).
Hongkong Land’s approved near-term SBTs cover its operations and development activities across Hong Kong, Singapore, the Chinese mainland and Southeast Asia. They include a 46.2% reduction of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from 2019 levels and a 22% per square metre reduction of carbon intensity for Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and capital goods over the same period.
Hongkong Land becomes the fourth real estate company and the sixth company across all sectors in Hong Kong to have its 1.5°C aligned near-term SBTs approved. Having announced its commitment in February 2022, the Group has secured validation in less than four months.
“The successful validation of Hongkong Land’s near-term SBTs is a significant achievement in the Group’s climate action journey and is an important milestone in the execution of Jardines’ decarbonisation strategy,” said Mr Ben Keswick, Chairman of Hongkong Land.
“By setting targets that have now been validated by an independent party, we have strengthened Hongkong Land’s business resilience and readiness – positioning it for long-term growth, and aligned it more closely with the growing sustainability expectations of our partners, tenants and investors.”
The validation comes soon after Hongkong Land launched its new Sustainability Framework 2030, focused on four spotlights: Climate & Economic Resilience, Inspirational Connections, Operational Excellence and Vibrant Communities & Cities. In addition to near-term SBTs, the framework has specific climate-related 2030 targets including i) ensuring 90% of the Group’s leasing portfolio achieves the second highest or above ratings for green building certification, ii) sourcing 50% of electricity requirements from renewable sources and iii) a commitment to continuing to aggressively retrofit existing assets.
Underlining the Group’s green building leadership, 93% of its leasing portfolio (by floor area) across the region has achieved the second highest or above ratings for green building certification. This includes all its commercial buildings in Hong Kong and Singapore, which have the highest ratings of BEAM Plus Platinum (Existing Buildings Comprehensive Scheme) and Green Mark Platinum certifications.
Hongkong Land reinvests approximately US$50 million annually in retrofitting its Central Portfolio to drive energy efficiencies, reduce wastage and improve the use of renewable energy generation onsite. Initiatives in recent years include installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that generate over 30,000 kWh of electricity per annum at its Central Portfolio – with planned installation of another 73,000 kWh of new PV panels on the roof of Three Exchange Square later this year and establishing an award winning Integrated Smart Management System (“ISMS”) to optimise efficiencies across the Central Portfolio. The incorporation of ISMS into our operations has resulted in energy savings of 6.6% in the Central Portfolio in the past twelve months.
Mr Robert Wong, Chief Executive of Hongkong Land, said: “The speed at which we have secured formal validation of our SBTs is a testament to the commitment and operational excellence of our colleagues across all levels of the business.”
“We are proud to join an existing group of 12 real estate sector leaders across Asia that have aligned their decarbonisation efforts to the 1.5°C pathway. As a leading developer and operator of some of the world’s most sustainable buildings, we look forward to working with our stakeholders, including those in the property development value chain to deliver on the Group’s commitments in the years ahead.”
