NTRUST is Expanding to Deliver Settlement Services
SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 5 August 2021 – NTRUST announces its expansion plans to extend its services into settlement by helping clients settle in with ease during the relocation process. Individuals with their visas will receive assistance from NTRUST, including clients who require help in sorting out areas like properties, schools, jobs, banking, car, and taxation.
NTRUST is an agency that provides Australian immigration services, assisting individuals with obtaining visas through their team of migration agents, consultants, and lawyers. However, they will also be offering settlement services to help clients smoothen the relocation process. With a team of onshore personnel located in Australia, not only stationed locally in Singapore, NTRUST is able to liaise with both the authorities and locals. This puts the agency in a position to help clients settle down comfortably approaching their arrival in Australia.
However, sustainability remains a challenge for many businesses, including NTRUST, amid the COVID-19 situation. The migration agency has to adapt and persevere by making new implementations to their daily operations – from incorporating Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangements, setting up online conferencing to applying stricter regulations to on-site appointments. These changes have allowed NTRUST to sustain their employees and push forward marketing efforts to maintain revenue and widen its target audience.
Since 2003, NTRUST has been the first specialised Australian migration agency in Singapore. Holding more than 18 years of expertise, NTRUST has continuously provided solutions to clients for the betterment of their lives. With NTRUST commencing their settlement services, the agency aims to extend its help to families with prior applications in doing their visa or Australia PR.

80% of Global Organizations Expect to Experience a Breach of Customer Records in the Next Year
Trend Micro Cyber Risk Index shows organizations are at an elevated risk of attack
HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 4 August 2021 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global cybersecurity leader, today revealed that the risk of cyber attacks has increased in the last year. According to a new survey, 80% of global organizations report they are likely to experience a data breach that impacts customer data in the next 12 months.
The findings come from Trend Micro’s biannual Cyber Risk Index (CRI) report, which measures the gap between respondents’ cybersecurity preparedness versus their likelihood of being attacked. In the first half of 2021 the CRI surveyed more than 3,600 businesses of all sizes and industries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
Read the full report, produced by the Ponemon Institute, here: https://www.trendmicro.com/cyberrisk.
The CRI is based on a numerical scale of -10 to 10, with -10 representing the highest level of risk. The current global index stands at -0.42, a slight increase on last year which indicates an “elevated” risk.
“Once again we’ve found plenty to keep CISOs awake at night, from operational and infrastructure risks to data protection, threat activity and human-shaped challenges,” said Tony Lee, Head of Consulting, Hong Kong and Macau, of Trend Micro. “To lower cyber risk, organizations must be better prepared by going back to basics, identifying the critical data most at risk, focusing on the threats that matter most to their business, and delivering multi-layered protection from comprehensive, connected platforms.”
Organizations ranked the top three negative consequences of an attack as customer churn, lost IP and critical infrastructure damage/disruption.
Key findings from the report include:
- 86% said it was somewhat to very likely that they’d suffer serious cyber-attacks in the next 12 months, compared to 83% last time
- 24% suffered 7+ cyber attacks that infiltrated networks/systems, versus 23% in the previous report.
- 21% had 7+ breaches of information assets, versus 19% in the previous report.
- 20% of respondents said they’d suffered 7+ breaches of customer data over the past year, up from 17% in the last report.
“Trend Micro’s CRI continues to be a helpful tool to help companies better understand their cyber risk,” said Dr. Larry Ponemon, CEO for the Ponemon Institute. “Businesses globally can use this resource to prioritize their security strategy and focus their resources to best manage their cyber risk. This type of resource is increasingly useful as harmful security incidents continue to be a challenge for businesses of all sizes and industries.”
Among the top two infrastructure risks was cloud computing. Global organizations gave it a 6.77, ranking it as an elevated risk on the index’s 10-point scale. Many respondents admitted they spend “considerable resources” managing third party risks like cloud providers.
The top cyber risks highlighted in the report were as follows:
- Man-in-the-middle attacks
- Ransomware
- Phishing and social engineering
- Fileless attack
- Botnets
The top security risks to infrastructure remain the same as last year, and include organizational misalignment and complexity, as well as cloud computing infrastructure and providers. In addition, respondents identified customer turnover, lost intellectual property and disruption or damages to critical infrastructure as key operational risks for organizations globally.
The main challenges for cybersecurity preparedness include limitations for security leaders who lack the authority and resources to achieve a strong security posture, as well as organizations struggling to enable security technologies that are sufficient to protect their data assets and IT infrastructure.

Cyberport, Ericsson, SmarTone and Unissoft Join Hands to Develop New 5G Applications, Form Hong Kong’s First 5G Edge Computing Deployment Scenario Used at Cyberport and Unleash the Power of 5G Technology
HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 4 August 2021 – Hong Kong Cyberport, Unissoft – Cyberport Incubation Programme Alumni, SmarTone, and Ericsson announced a partnership to build Hong Kong’s first Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) deployment scenario at the Cyberport campus and capture the benefit of 5G communication technology. Developed by Unissoft and supported by a 5G MEC system architecture designed by SmarTone, this deployment scenario combines SmarTone’s 5G network with the Ericsson Enterprise Edge Link, becoming the first project in Hong Kong to adopt it in a commercial capacity and the first batch of projects in Asia. The first use case will be the Pet Monitoring System at Arcade@Cyberport, estimated to be operational in October this year.
(From left) Howard Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of Cyberport, Peter Fung, President of Ericsson Hong Kong & Macau, Stephen Chau, Chief Technology Officer of SmarTone, and Aldous Ng, Founder of Unissoft, at the launch of Unissoft’s 5G edge computing solution at the Cyberport campus.
5G Edge Computing to Improve Response Time and Data Security
In addition to higher transmission speeds, 5G technology comes with a number of breakthrough technological capabilities such as edge computing and network slicing, qualifying 5G network for more applications that require instant responses, as well as high stability and accuracy. Edge computing allows data to be processed at nearby stations or dedicated computing platforms, negating the need for transmitting data to distant servers. This not only reduces data processing time, but also enhances data security through bypassing data processing through public cloud servers.
This represents the first instance of a local startup applying an in-house developed technology to enhancing 5G’s commercial value. With lower latency and a more secure network design, 5G can be broadly applied in commercial and industrial communications, and even unmanned driving. MEC’s advantage lies in its ability to enable application ownership within enterprises, while Unissoft’s technology significantly reduces cost to highlight the advantages of 5G.
Unissoft will be providing a Pet Monitoring System, supported by 5G MEC edge computing, to the pet friendly at Arcade@Cyberport. This MEC device features a nEdge setup developed by Unissoft, integrated with the latest enterprise 5G Ericsson Enterprise Edge Link. Through high-definition cameras connected with the SmarTone 5G network, multiple real-time video stream will be transmitted via the SmarTone-developed 5G MEC architecture, through mobile edge gateways within the mall, to Unissoft’s in-house nEdge multi-cloud design for artificial intelligence (AI) analysis. This helps staff of facility office stay apprised of real-time information, such as the pet count within the mall and whether pets have entered any unauthorised areas, giving pets and their owners a better user experience while enabling staff to respond more quickly to emergencies and improve operational efficiency. The research and development process of this project was supported by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the project was funded by the “Subsidy Scheme for Encouraging Early Deployment of 5G” of the Office of the Communications Authority.
Cyberport Campus Provides Application Scenarios for 5G Solutions
Howard Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of Cyberport, said, “5G communication is a disruptive technology that provides unprecedented dimensions of development for innovative technologies, expanding the realm of technological applications using wireless networks. We are delighted to work with Cyberport Incubation Programme Alumni – Unissoft, SmarTone and Ericsson to drive 5G edge computing applications, bringing 5G MEC and the Pet Monitoring System to the Cyberport campus. We will also continue to utilise the existing campus facilities and seize the opportunity of Cyberport expansion project to provide startups with testing and application opportunities while uplifting the digital technology experience of campus users.”
Aldous Ng, Founder of Unissoft, said, “We are delighted to be supported by Cyberport, SmarTone and Ericsson, and to have them provide an application scenario as well as comprehensive technological assistance for our 5G solution. The company will continue in our development of 5G-enabled AI Internet of Thing (IoT) applications in areas such as smart campus management, smart factory and esports, with the hopes of bringing 5G’s benefits to a wider audience. We also look forward to using our nEdge edge computing technology to cooperate with other Cyberport startups interest in developing 5G applications. The company is also endorsed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and will be bringing nEdge to technology parks in the Great Bay Area.”
Cutting-edge 5G Applications to Highlight the Technology Leadership of Hong Kong
Stephen Chau, Chief Technology Officer of SmarTone, a member of the Cyberport Technology Network, said, “SmarTone is the leading 5G mobile operator in Hong Kong, dedicated to building a world-class 5G network. With the rapid development of 5G, mobile operators need to make full use 5G characteristics – ultra-high speed, low latency and mass connectivity, and integrate them with other advanced technologies to create more innovative solutions that will help enterprises solve their pain points and improve operational efficiency. This collaboration with Cyberport and its Incubation Programme Alumni – Unissoft is a great example of this, and we look forward to working to more startups across different industries to co-create a 5G ecosystem.”
Åsa Tamsons, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Technologies & New Businesses at Ericsson, said, “This is one of the first Ericsson Enterprise Edge Link collaborations in Asia to support commercial use, and this installation provides technology enterprises the capacity to adopt 5G edge computing more easily and at a lower cost. Combined with Unissoft’s smart solution and SmarTone’s network coverage, we believe that this innovative solution can spotlight Hong Kong’s leading position in innovative technologies.”
The 5G-enabled Pet Monitoring System will be installed and tested at Arcarde@Cyberport over the next two months, and is estimated to be operational in October this year.

Vallen Poised for Business Expansion and Captures New Revenue Stream in the Cloud with Infor
Asia Pacific’s leading provider of indirect industrial supplies taps Infor solution to launch e-commerce business and boost customer satisfaction
SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 4 August 2021 – Infor, the industry cloud company, today announced that Vallen has rolled out Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise solution across four countries and 15 locations in Asia to better manage the complexities of owning and managing inventory. In the process it has reduced TCO by 30% while achieving increased visibility, agility and innovation across the company, as well as creating an additional revenue stream with the launch of its e-commerce business. Key to the company’s digital strategy is a nimble and highly-scalable platform afforded by Infor’s multi-tenant SaaS solution to support growth spurts and increase customer intimacy. The company is expecting to grow at a CAGR of 25% over the next five years.
Andrew Bennett, CEO of Vallen Asia

Vallen operates in a differentiated market with a robust demand for the outsourcing of the supply chain for indirect materials, the success of which is underpinned by an innovative technology-driven model. In order to maintain a high level of operational excellence and deliver on its customer promise, whilst ensuring flawless execution, the company has been working with Infor as its strategic technology partner over the years to carve out a digital roadmap that supports business growth, change management, customer value-creation and overall customer satisfaction.
A responsive business model to capture market opportunity for Vallen
“Five years ago, Vallen went through a huge growth spike. It took us years to digest it. We missed a tremendous market opportunity because our platform, systems and capabilities were not robust enough to scale quickly and support the demand for our solutions and services,” said Andrew Bennett, CEO, Vallen – Asia. “With Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, we will be better poised to capitalize on those market opportunities in a way that doesn’t require us to stop. The business is able to scale quickly and effectively as it’s not resource-intensive, and we’re already seeing the results. We run bespoke integrated supply customer programs for our customers, and we are now more robust and efficient in our service delivery because of the Infor technology and platform. The first couple of programs that have launched witnessed seamless customer onboarding and enhanced automation. Ultimately, we want to achieve scalable growth with Infor’s partnership and innovation. This will be a true measure of success for us.”
Vallen’s digital strategy for growth
Vallen started its journey with Infor being an on-premise customer. “On-premise we were heavily modified and supported out of our Australian business,” says Bennett. This was not ideal as the nature of the Asia Pacific business is very different from Australia’s. “We weren’t in control of our own destiny in terms of having the system work the way we wanted it to support our business. We also had to deal with the whole cycle of upgrades, which became just too hard with the customization and cost prohibitions, so upgrades got delayed and never happened.”
“Single-tenant was only a stepping stone to get us to multi-tenant because at the end of the day, we wanted a performance asset that will help us drive the business, that aligns to our business goals of having the right platform to achieve what we want in the market with our customers,” Bennett shared.
Why Infor?
Bennett said that they had selected Infor for the upgrade because of the continuity it enabled. “Our team are familiar and comfortable with Infor M3, so change management was less. Secondly, we understood and agree with the vision that Infor had put forward with CloudSuite, which isn’t just ERP but an all-encompassing solution – business analytics, e-Commerce, and now we’re also evaluating warehouse management (Infor WMS) capabilities as well. It’s an ecosystem that we could invest in and build up on as we scale the business. This aligns with our company growth plans.”
The third reason was the extensibility feature that Infor offered. Vallen had targeted to go for a vanilla version of ERP. On the multi-tenant cloud, it is able to take advantage of auto-updates to the latest versions. A pre-condition for leveraging Infor’s extensibility platform is to be as vanilla as possible and the organization has chosen to change a few business processes by doing so, but Bennett notes, “It’s a good time for us to do it. It’s a good foundational thing to do.”
Business outcomes and e-Commerce new revenue stream
Apart from enabling scalable growth, the pivot from using an in-house shared service centre in the early days to a fully SaaS model today has enabled a TCO savings of 30% for Vallen. Dedicated IT support cost is kept to a minimum with a lean IT team of only two to three to support the company across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and China. “In the SaaS model, we really rely on Infor to provide us that support in a multi-tenant environment optimized for AWS for ERP and all those connected solutions – this ensures we’re deriving full value from the Infor applications purpose-built for our business. That leaves us to focus on our core competency.”
Productivity has increased with the ability to automate and streamline much more of the business using BI that is closely integrated with the Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise solution. “Whether it be our finance team for month-end reporting, or different financial reports that took many hours to create for different stakeholders – these can all be automated through workflows now and help us digitize paper processes and be more efficient — be they customer orders, quotations or purchase order approvals,” says Bennett.
Harnessing SaaS technology to create an additional revenue stream in the new e-Commerce platform is a big plus and aligns with the strategic intent of Vallen’s digital plan for growth. The company’s integrated e-Commerce platform allows seamless management and ease of overall configuration for the onboarding of new customers and managing new business opportunities, without having to deal with the complexities of other third-party applications. “It allows us to be “always on” and to be highly-responsive to scaling business needs and customer wants,” says Bennett.
Going forward, Vallen will assess how to derive further value from its digital investments and augmenting its value proposition to customers, whether it be on the e-Commerce front or digital portals for customers, or integration with third-party systems such as vending machines, made possible by the openness of Infor’s digital platform.
“Infor is proud to be a strategic business partner for Vallen all these years. We are excited to continue supporting them in their digital agenda and leadership as they grow and transform their business,” said Fabio Tiviti, senior vice president & general manager, Infor ASEAN & India. “We are confident that we can help drive innovation for our customers with our Infor CloudSuite solutions that are purpose-built for specific industries and finely-tuned in the cloud.”
