Chinese military delivers more vaccines to Laos

Laos has received another batch of Sinopharm Covid-19 Vaccines containing 400,000 doses from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

According to Lao National Radio, the sixth shipment of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine arrived in Laos yesterday.

The vaccines were presented to Deputy Minister of National Defence of Laos, Major General Dr. Vongkham Phommakone by a Chinese People’s Liberation Army representative at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane.

The first shipment of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines from China arrived on 31 December last year, containing some 2,000 doses, followed by 300,000 doses in February, 800,000 doses in early April, 300,000 doses in late April, 500,000 doses in June, 1,000,000 doses in earlier August, with the latest shipment of 400,000 doses arriving on 23 August.

Laos is now recieved 5,672,620 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including 3,300,000 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines from China, 1,263,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, 1,008,000 doses of J&J Covid-19 vaccine, 100,620 doses of Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccines, and 1,000 doses of Sputnik vaccines.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,109,937 individuals in Laos have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination, with 1,664,137 having completed two doses.
