Laos Takes Chair of ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network

This Week

Laos has taken over the chairmanship of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network for the 2026-2027 term and will host the network’s regional forum and awards in Vientiane.

The ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network rotates its chairmanship among ASEAN member states every two years.

The 2026 ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network Forum and Awards will bring together women entrepreneurs from across the region and include an awards ceremony recognizing businesswomen from participating ASEAN countries.

Ten women entrepreneurs from each participating country have been selected for the awards, according to the organizers. The selection was open to public applications, with candidates assessed based on their business and social contributions in their respective countries.

The network focuses on supporting women-owned businesses and promoting cooperation among women entrepreneurs across Southeast Asia. Its work includes regional cooperation on issues affecting women-owned businesses, including the shift toward digital and green economies.

In Laos, the network is represented by the Lao Business Women’s Association.

The forum and the Lao network are supported by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Lao Women’s Union.
