First Phosphate Confirms Significant High-Quality Igneous Phosphate Deposit at Its Bégin-Lamarche Project in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Region, Quebec au Canada

Saguenay, Quebec – Newsfile Corp. – July 25, 2024 – First Phosphate Corp. (CSE: PHOS) (OTC: FRSPF) (FSE: KD0) (“First Phosphate” or the “Company“) is pleased to announce that all results from its drilling program at its Bégin-Lamarche project are now available.

The 99 hole drill program totaling 25,929 m completed on its Bégin-Lamarche project has uncovered a significant high-quality igneous phosphate deposit. The drilling has shown continuous phosphate mineralization over a length of 2,400 m spread across 3 mineralized zones. A NI 43-101 resource estimate is now underway and will be immediately followed by a Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”).

“This drilling campaign has confirmed the presence of a high-quality igneous phosphate deposit in-line with expectation and in a logistically-favourable mining area at just 70 km from the deep-water port of Saguenay, Quebec,” said John Passalacqua, CEO of First Phosphate. “We have already initiated a 43-101 resource estimate, which will be available in the coming months which will be immediately followed by a PEA.”

Mountain Zone and Northern Zone

A total of 23 drill holes were completed in the Mountain Zone totaling 5,023 m. The Mountain Zone shows grades of more than 10% P2O5 over widths ranging from 7 m to 99 m. The phosphate mineralized zones in the Mountain Zone reach a thickness of 177 m (Table 1). The Mountain Zone contains several veins of massive apatite of up to 2 meters thick. The Mountain Zone has been drilled over a total length of 250 m to date. This zone begins to merge (from the Southwest) with the Northern Zone (Figure 1) where a phosphate mineralized envelope (500 m thick) has been delineated by 19 drill holes totaling 4,831 m (Table 2). This zone further consists of 5 individual layers ranging from 60 m to 100 m in thickness from the surface continuing to a depth of 300 m. The total length of the Mountain Zone and the Northern Zone is approximately 600 m. The Mountain and Northern Zones remain open at depth.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

The sampling of, and assay data from, the drill core is monitored through the Company’s implementation of a quality assurance – quality control (QA-QC) program designed to the CIM Mineral Exploration Best Practices Guidelines.

A formal chain-of-custody procedure was adopted for security of samples until their delivery at the laboratory. Drill core (NQ size) is logged and samples are selected by Laurentia Exploration Inc. geologists and sawn in half with a diamond saw at the project site. Half of the core is retained at the site for reference purposes. Sample intervals may vary from 0.5 to 3 metres in length depending on the geological observations. A blank and a standard are inserted at the beginning of each sample batch, usually one complete hole, and a blank and a standard are then inserted alternatively each 10 samples. Half-core samples are packaged and sent by ground transportation in sealed rice bags to an independent laboratory, Activation Laboratories Ltd. of Ancaster, Ontario (ISO/IEC 17025:2005 with CAN-P-1579). The core samples are crushed up to 80% passing 2mm (10 mesh), riffle split 250 g and pulverized (mild steel) to 95% passing -200 mesh. Each sample is analyzed for whole rock analysis (code 4B) for 10 major oxides and 7 trace elements by lithium metaborate/tetraborate fusion of 3g of material and analyze by ICP-OES. The laboratory has its own QA/QC protocols.

PARIS, FRANCE – Media OutReach Newswire – 25 July 2024 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), has today announced the launch of OBS Cloud 3.0 for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (Paris 2024). A combination of cloud technologies powered by AI, OBS Cloud 3.0 makes the work of OBS and Media Rights-Holders (MRHs) easier and more efficient. For Paris 2024, OBS Cloud 3.0 will serve as the backbone infrastructure supporting several critical functions, fully utilizing the benefits of cloud technologies including operational scalability and cost-efficiency, improved sustainability with enhanced remote working capabilities, effective real-time workflow collaboration, and more.

As part of OBS Cloud 3.0, OBS Live Cloud has become the main method of remote distribution to Media Rights-Holders (MRHs) for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, taking over from satellite which was launched during the Olympics Games Tokyo 1964. For Paris 2024, two-thirds of booked remote services (across 54 broadcasters) are now using OBS Live Cloud including 2 Ultra High Definition (UHD) broadcasters. 379 video (11 UHD, 368 HD) and 100 audio feeds will be transmitted via the Live Cloud. With the benefits of low latency and high resilience, content transmission via cloud has outperformed other methods of distribution when it comes to scalability, flexibility and cost while increasing the stability and agility of worldwide broadcasting of the largest sports event.

Debuted at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 with an UHD broadcaster, OBS Live Cloud was offered as a standard service for the first time during the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 with 22 subscribed broadcasters. Prior to this technology breakthrough, broadcasters had to rely on dedicated and more costly international telecommunication optical circuits and spend a considerate amount of time to set up the equipment, in order to send live footage halfway across the globe back to their home countries.

At the launch of the OBS Cloud 3.0 during the Alibaba Cloud International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) showcase opening, Yiannis Exarchos, OBS Chief Executive Officer, said, “With approximately half of the world’s population watching the Games, technologies like Alibaba Cloud help us tell the stories of the best athletes in the world, but also bring the world together in ways which are more exciting and inspirational. Broadcasting the Games is fundamental in trying to do that, and having partners like Alibaba that help us bring this dream to life are very valuable for us!”

A record-breaking 11,000 hours of Olympic Games content available via Content+ on the cloud

Content+, OBS’ content delivery platform remains fully hosted on Alibaba Cloud, and continues to simplify remote production workflows and ensures seamless content delivery including live sessions, athlete interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and social media content.

For Paris 2024, OBS will produce more than 11,000 hours of content – a 15% increase from Tokyo 2020. The streamlined approach of this cloud-based portal simplifies remote production workflows and ensures seamless content delivering without disruption during the Games.

New functionalities in Content+ allow MRHs to create their own highlights from any location in the world in far shorter turnaround time. Content can be downloaded in three different resolutions facilitating usage including linear, digital and/or social.

Offering worldwide MRHs access to the wealth of Games content produced by OBS, Content+ will deliver content in UHD for the first time through Alibaba Cloud’s robust global infrastructure. This empowers broadcasters to produce even more engaging and refined content, with new features like vertical screen compatibility for optimal viewing on mobiles or other devices.

Selina Yuan, President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said, “We are very excited to see the evolution of Olympic broadcasting from Tokyo 2020 to Paris 2024, enabled by Alibaba Cloud’s extensive global infrastructure and proven AI technologies. The partnership between Alibaba Cloud and OBS amplifies our commitment to help transform the viewer experience at the Olympic Games, turning technology innovations into practical applications for tangible results. We are honored to support Paris 2024 as the most digitally compelling Olympics ever.”

AI-Enhanced Replay Systems Elevate Viewing Experience

During Paris 2024, the OBS Multi-Camera Replay Systems will provide frame-freeze slow-motion replays of athletes’ performances, allowing hardcore sports fans to access detailed information for deeper analysis of the athlete movements. For new viewers, these replays can serve as educational tools for better understanding of the Games at key moments.

All the multi-camera replay systems used at Paris 2024 will be provided by Alibaba Cloud. These include 17 systems across 14 venues covering 21 sports and disciplines – including rugby sevens; badminton; athletics track and field; basketball; beach volleyball; table tennis; wrestling; tennis; judo; breaking; BMX freestyle; and skateboarding. The footage will be sent to the cloud, where Alibaba Cloud’s AI-driven computing capabilities enable live spatial reconstruction and real-time 3D rendering, before the chosen moments are shared as a replay through live or non-live feeds. The seamless reconstruction of the most exciting moments only takes seconds to get ready in the cloud and integrated as part of the live coverage.

Additionally, OBS Olympic Video Player (OVP), an advanced multi-platform video player service, will also leverage Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure to support UHD live streaming for the first time. The OVP service provides MRHs, especially small and medium-sized organizations, with a turnkey solution to deliver high-quality videos to their audiences without complex in-house development.

Joined as an Olympic Worldwide Partner in January 2017, Alibaba Cloud and OBS launched OBS Cloud in 2018. The leading cloud company supported Tokyo 2020 as the first Olympic Games to be broadcasted via the cloud and has been working with OBS since to help maintain the highest Olympic broadcasting standards with its proven cloud technologies.

PolyU scholar discovers key mechanism of intraocular pressure regulation suggesting novel treatment approaches for glaucoma

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 25 July 2024 – Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of visual impairment and blindness. According to statistics from the Hospital Authority, in Hong Kong, three out of every 100 individuals aged over 40 suffer from glaucoma. In its early stages, obvious symptoms may not be present and those less obvious are often overlooked. By the time patients notice changes in their vision, the condition is usually severe. Dr Samantha SHAN, Research Assistant Professor of the School of Optometry of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and her team have discovered the mechanism of intraocular pressure (IOP) regulation, paving the way for novel treatment approaches for glaucoma, with the aspiration of preventing vision loss from this disease.

Dr Samantha Shan, Research Assistant Professor of the School of Optometry of PolyU, and her team have discovered the mechanism of intraocular pressure regulation, paving the way for novel treatment approaches for glaucoma.
Dr Samantha Shan, Research Assistant Professor of the School of Optometry of PolyU, and her team have discovered the mechanism of intraocular pressure regulation, paving the way for novel treatment approaches for glaucoma.

In glaucoma patients, the fluid within the eye (known as “aqueous humour”) continuously flows, resulting in higher IOP for which long-term medication is required. However, current drugs have limitations in that they can only slow disease progression rather than halt it completely. Drugs may also have suboptimal tolerability and their efficacy diminish over time.

The microRNA(miR)-17-92 cluster is known to play an important role in cell signalling, but its specific functions in the eye are not well understood. In this respect, Dr Shan and her team’s research focus lies in gaining insights into the mechanisms of miR-17-92 cluster members and their effects on IOP. The team has identified thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) as a protein that reduces the outflow of aqueous humour and increases IOP. Concurrently, the team mimicked three members of the miR-17-92 cluster in human trabecular meshwork (hTM) cells which are responsible for draining aqueous humour within the eye. It showed that the expression of TSP-1 was repressed, resulting in an approximately 73% increase in the outflow of aqueous humour in mice.

Dr Shan’s team has recently been recognised with a prestigious 2024 Shaffer Research Grant from the Glaucoma Research Foundation to further explore the effects of miR-17-92 members in IOP regulation. Looking forward, the team will investigate the direct interaction between specific miRNAs and TSP-1 by blocking the potential target sites of the three miRNAs in TSP-1 in hTM cells. They will also examine the functional consequences of modulating this pathway on aqueous humour outflow and IOP regulation in vivo. This would be achieved by utilising intravitreal injections of a TSP-1 target-specific blocker or miRNA mimics in mouse eyes.

Dr Shan remarked, “Genomic and proteomic approaches play a crucial role in understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as glaucoma. In the context of glaucoma treatment, these approaches can help identify potential biomarkers, therapeutic targets and personalised treatment options, with far-reaching implications. The Grant also demonstrates PolyU’s excellence as hosting one of the top eye research centres in the world. It encourages me and my team to continue to make significant strides in glaucoma research and contribute to the better care of glaucoma patients.”

With over a decade of experience in molecular research, in her work, Dr Shan has demonstrated proficiency in utilising genomic and proteomic approaches. Her research interests are mechanism of aqueous humour formation, outflow facility and IOP regulation, microRNAs on outflow facility, DNA methylation of potential candidates on outflow facility and IOP regulation.

Dr Shan has also received support from the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Health and Medical Research Fund for two projects as a principal investigator. The projects aim to discover gene editing methods for treating glaucoma and unravel the role of epigenetic regulation in glaucoma respectively. Dr Shan has also served as a co-investigator on other diverse research topics and has secured notable research funding, including the Research Grants Council’s General Research Fund.

The Hot Air Drying feature further prepares the robot vacuum cleaner for each new cleaning cycle by using hot air[8] to dry the wet mop and cleaning plate quickly, reducing the moisture level down to below 5%[9] within 2 hours.

Homeowners can also look forward to less frequent maintenance as the robot vacuum cleaner can automatically dock at the All-in-One Clean StationTM Steam+ to refill its water container (100ml) using the Auto Fill function, ensuring that there will always be clean water in the robot’s tank to keep the mop pads moist for its next cleaning cycle.

The All-in-One Clean StationTM Steam+ enables the robot vacuum cleaner to automatically dispose of dust, dirt and hairs in a hygienic manner through Auto Dust Emptying, complemented by a 2.5L disposable dust bag that needs replacement only every 2 to 3 months[10]. A Multi-layered Filtration system in the All-in-One Clean StationTM Steam+ helps to trap 99.999% of fine dust[11], giving homeowners peace of mind during the auto dust emptying process.

Schneider Electric’s Category-Defining EcoStruxure™ Resource Advisor Raises the Bar with a New Suite of Solutions

  • Product enhancements enable regulatory compliance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) leadership ahead of upcoming CSRD reporting requirements
  • Development also includes improved renewable energy experience that highlights opportunities, automation, and information sharing

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 25 July 2024 – Schneider Electric, the global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is proud to announce major enhancements to EcoStruxure™ Resource Advisor, a versatile enterprise software suite of solutions designed to empower global companies across efficiency, ESG, energy and risk, and renewables and carbon. This strategic evolution from a platform of stand-alone solutions to an integrated and multifaceted suite addresses the rapidly maturing market and the increasing complexity of corporate sustainability needs. Much of this has been driven in the market by escalating stakeholder demands and stringent reporting requirements, including the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) starting in 2025.

Recent research has highlighted a significant uptick in corporate sustainability programs, evident in increased resourcing in people, tools, and budget. Companies are increasingly challenged to streamline ESG reporting, implement sustainability initiatives, manage renewable energy projects, reduce carbon footprints, optimize energy procurement, and enhance operational efficiency through targeted energy-saving measures.

The enhanced Resource Advisor suite offers specialized solutions that cater to these diverse needs, providing users with flexibility and depth to navigate their unique sustainability paths. Clients can leverage these capabilities individually or collectively, depending on their specific enterprise sustainability goals.

Resource Advisor ESG Gets Extensive Upgrade in Time for CSRD Compliance

Equipped with these powerful new features, Resource Advisor ESG will modernize how companies manage and report on their ESG efforts. The most impactful upgrades include advancements like:

  • Robust Indicator Framework Library: Comprehensive library of standard ESG indicators mapped to frameworks to align with global standards and upcoming regulations like CSRD and disclosures.
  • AI-Driven Data Hub: Seamless connection with business-wide data through an advanced AI-driven hub, enhancing data integration and accuracy.
  • Multi-Entity Data Management and Reporting: Agility in connecting physical asset data to legal entities, accommodating jurisdiction-specific reporting requirements with ease.
  • Custom Visualizations and Dashboards: Valuable insights through bespoke visualizations and dashboards, facilitating optimal data interpretation and trend analysis on the ESG journey.

“As our clients and other global enterprise companies scale up their sustainability capabilities, we anticipate a growing need for precision technology and tools required to meet their evolving needs,” said Steve Wilhite, President, Schneider Electric Sustainability Business. “We’re excited about the targeted capabilities and emphasis on interoperability within Resource Advisor. The diverse set of stakeholders that often find themselves in energy, sustainability, or ESG projects – including legal, compliance, sustainability, procurement, operations, and technology teams – can solve even more of their pressing challenges with Resource Advisor.”

Resource Advisor Renewables & Carbon Introduces Intelligent Tracking and Allocation Functionality

Resource Advisor has long been a leader in helping corporations manage the spend and risk of traditional energy commodities such as electric power and natural gas. The energy transition is demanding companies prioritize renewable energy and environmental commodities like carbon offsets and energy attribute certificates. The need to manage these renewable energy and carbon purchases will only grow in importance as organizations commit to initiatives like RE100, SBTi, and CDP and must allocate purchases to different sites and different time periods.

Resource Advisor users are now able to improve their renewable energy experience, prioritize auditability and information sharing, and rely on an automated calculation of renewable energy coverage across their entire footprint. Additionally, users can quickly identify lagging assets or sites that have exceeded their goal and have a surplus of certificates available to either reallocate elsewhere or sell to generate revenue.

“This standard global reporting functionality will allow our clients to monitor their progress towards critical renewable energy goals such as pledges to consume 100% renewable energy by a specific date,” continued Steve Wilhite, President, Schneider Electric Sustainability Business.

A Comprehensive Solution for Corporate Sustainability

“These upgrades make us an integrated partner of choice for companies who must comply with regulations like CSRD, CA Climate Laws, and the proposed SEC regulation or those corporate leaders who simply recognize ESG performance as an escalating indicator of overall business health,” continued Wilhite.

“Resource Advisor sets itself apart in the market with its integrated approach, offering end-to-end functionality across ESG, sustainability, procurement, renewables & carbon, and efficiency management,” said Amy Cravens, Research Manager ESG Management and Reporting Technologies, IDC.
