Synergy in Action: How 49 Philippine Companies are Building Workplaces for the Future

MANILA, Philippines, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In a market praised for their resilience, adaptability, and strong work ethic, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in AsiaPhilippines organized by Business Media International spotlights employers that are rewriting the rules of talent retention, hiring, and multigenerational inclusion. The Philippines has been Southeast Asia’s most active job market, with 94% of employers hiring in 2024—yet churn is real, with the country also near the top for workforce reductions and a regional attrition rate of about 19.1%. Budgeted salary increases are tracking at 5.8% in 2025, signaling continued competition for skills. These crosswinds make retention the new growth strategy—and culture the decisive edge.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Philippines HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia

This year’s awardees—predominantly MNCs and large enterprises—stand out not just for what they promise, but for the employee-verified proof behind it. The program relies on the proprietary Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM), a deep engagement and experience survey coupled with validation that prioritizes what employees actually feel and do at work. TEAM has been deployed at scale across Asia, enabling robust benchmarking and action planning.

Across submissions, three patterns define how winners are solving today’s HR problems. First, they treat retention as design, not policy—tying pay ranges and benefits to market data while investing in internal mobility and manager capability to reduce regrettable attrition. Second, they hire for skills and potential, not pedigree, widening pipelines and accelerating time-to-productivity with academy-style onboarding. Third, they operationalize multigenerational synergy through cross-gen squads, reverse mentoring, and team-level flexibility norms that prevent flexibility for one group from becoming rigidity for another. These moves directly address the region’s pay pressures, high activity levels, and talent churn.

To accelerate this transformation, the program introduces a new category in the Philippines: the HR Asia Tech Empowerment Awards. This category recognizes employers that don’t just use technology—but equip employees with hardware, software, and AI-enabled workflows that measurably lift productivity, safety, and inclusion. In markets across the region, Tech Empowerment winners are showing how digital tools, data literacy, and humane automation can create better jobs and better outcomes; Philippine entrants will now be benchmarked on the same frontier.

“In today’s dynamic talent landscape, success hinges on understanding people first,” said Datuk William Ng, Chairman, HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards. “Our program uncovers real data and connects leaders in a community of practice—fueling bold, people‑centric strategies that truly shift the landscape.”

The award covers fifteen markets across the region including mainland China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, making this the largest recognition program and survey in the region for employee engagement. AMZcycle introduces 6 brand-new products for a different cycling experience

BOSTON, USA – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 October 2025 – AMZcycle, an eBike company based in Florida, officially launched six new models in the U.S. market, including eMTB, eGravel, eCargo, and eCity series, which have been widely recognized and enthusiastically welcomed by eBike stores across the U.S.

image-1.jpeg

As a brand that focuses on the eBike market, AMZcycle’s Aerolife series incorporates an aerodynamic frame design for urban commuting, marking a bold attempt. The AMZcycle team aims to reduce air resistance during daily use by leveraging their expertise from the sports industry. They pair this with Schwable Marathon Efficiency tires to reduce rolling resistance, further improving energy efficiency. At 22mph, this model reduces the frame’s aerodynamic drag by 51.6% compared to a round-tube design of the same size, enhancing the vehicle’s range up to a maximum of 75 miles.

AMZcyle’s news models garnered positive market feedback

James, the owner of CASA Bikes in Massachusetts, shared his thoughts: “AMZcycle seems to be different from other eBike brands. Their products focus more on the consumer’s riding experience, whether it’s in terms of geometry design or feature specifications, they are more aligned with the actual usage scenarios of consumers. We are very excited to partner with a brand like AMZcycle, which allows us to focus on serving more consumers who prioritize riding quality. As a new store, this philosophy has been very encouraging, and we chose AMZcycle as our core brand when we opened, hoping to help more consumers recognize it.

AMZcycle’s newly launched website is now live.

73 Thailand Companies Tackle Talent Crisis With Innovation, Flexibility, and Tech

BANGKOK, Oct. 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia organized by Business Media International, returns to Thailand — shining a spotlight on 73 organisations that are not only surviving these challenges but transforming them into opportunities. Thailand’s workplaces are at a turning point. Companies across the country are grappling with how to attract scarce talent, keep their best people, and unite four very different generations under one roof. This year’s winners prove that putting people at the centre of business strategy is the key to long-term success.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Thailand HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia
Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Thailand HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia

Thailand’s HR reality is stark. Regional studies show employers continue to face material skill gaps: 62% of hiring managers across Asia reported “moderate to extreme” skill shortages in 2024, with pay competition and lack of progression cited as major causes. At the same time, the Thai government and private sector are racing to upskill the workforce — a national plan aims to develop some 280,000 workers for high-tech sectors over the next five years — signalling both urgency and opportunity for employers who can build learning at scale.

Against this backdrop, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Thailand programme is doing more than handing out trophies. The awards function as a pressure-tested playbook: they surface the HR strategies that actually move the needle on retention, recruitment and cross-generational engagement and then spotlight them for the broader market. Winners are not only recognised for polished benefits packages, but for concrete systems — continuous upskilling pipelines, people-first hybrid policies, AI-assisted talent analytics, internal mobility platforms — that produce measurable retention gains.

This year HR Asia introduces the HR Asia Tech Empowerment Awards — a category purposely created to recognise organisations that use technology not as an excuse to replace people, but as a lever to empower them. The new category highlights companies that deploy tech to amplify human potential: AI for personalised learning, analytics for predictive retention, automated workflows that free up time for mentorship, and platforms that democratise career mobility. By doing so, the awards aim to shift the narrative from “tech vs. people” to “tech for people.”

“Recognition is not the end goal; it’s a catalyst,” said Datuk William Ng, Chairman, HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards. “When we celebrate the companies that are succeeding, we make their tools, processes and metrics visible. Other employers can then adapt and iterate. That diffusion multiplies impact across industries and benefits the national workforce.”

Mantle Unveils Tokenization-as-a-Service and Global RWA Programs, Welcomes WLFI’s USD1 onto Mantle at TOKEN2049 Event with Donald Trump Jr.

SINGAPORE, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Mantle, a pioneering blockchain and ecosystem, today announced a comprehensive push into the global real-world asset (RWA) market with the launch of Tokenization-as-a-Service (TaaS), a global RWA hackathon series, and a scholarship program designed to cultivate the next generation of institutional-grade developers.

In a show of momentum for Mantle’s RWA strategy, World Liberty Financial (WLFI) — represented by Donald Trump Jr, co-founder., Zach Witkoff (CEO & co-founder), and Zak Folkman (COO & co-founder) — revealed at the Mantle Mixer that its flagship stablecoin, USD1, will launch on Mantle. This announcement underscores Mantle’s positioning as the preferred blockchain for compliant and large-scale tokenized asset issuance.

Mantle’s Tokenization-as-a-Service provides issuers and institutions with an end-to-end framework covering licensing and KYC, legal structuring, contract deployment, audit and security monitoring, and a compliant user interface. Paired with Mantle’s DeFi infrastructure, which enables price discovery across centralized (CeFi) and decentralized (DeFi) venues, TaaS creates a secure, compliant, and scalable pathway for traditional finance (TradFi) to bring assets on-chain.

Empowering Builders: RWA Hackathons & Scholarships

Mantle will also launch RWA hackathons across key developer hubs worldwide and a scholarship program to grow the global talent pipeline for compliant tokenization solutions. These programs reinforce Mantle’s commitment to building not only infrastructure but also the human capital required to power the next wave of institutional adoption.

Expanding Liquidity and Reach

Beyond infrastructure, Mantle is strengthening liquidity and distribution for tokenized assets through:

  • DEX liquidity access via Hyperliquid for seamless decentralized trading.
  • Derivatives exposure on Coinbase International Exchange for advanced market participants.
  • An upcoming Revolut listing, extending reach into European retail and fintech-native audiences.

Together, these channels provide a multi-tiered on-ramp for discovery, allocation, and ongoing participation in tokenized markets across both retail and institutional segments.

Emily Bao, Key Advisor at Mantle, engaging with finance industry leaders, relevant regulators, and global political leaders during her closed-door panel at Miken Asia Summit 2025, said:

“RWAs are no longer niche. With a $26 billion market today and trillions forecasted by 2030, institutions are racing to bring assets on-chain. Mantle is building the compliant infrastructure, liquidity access, and developer programs needed to meet that demand head-on.”

Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, said:

“Mantle now sits at the heart of Bybit’s ecosystem. Together, we’re building a full-stack institutional bridge from TradFi to DeFi — with RWAs at the center.”

According to RWA.xyz, the global tokenized asset market has expanded 380% in the past three years and continues to grow rapidly, reflecting an immense appetite for scalable infrastructure that supports institutional and retail adoption alike.

About Mantle

Mantle is a pioneering blockchain and ecosystem dedicated to bridging traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). The alliance will focus on key growth areas including institutional and private investment sales, development land and collective sales, capital markets advisory and deal originations, cross-border real estate strategies, portfolio optimization and strategic divestments. Clients can expect enhanced access to deal flow, broader investor networks, and tailored strategies backed by rigorous market analysis and execution capabilities.

As part of the partnership, Brilliance Capital and AlpsEdge Real Estate are pleased to present a rare and compelling investment opportunity at Hexacube (the “Development”), an architecturally distinctive freehold commercial development prominently located at 160 Changi Road in Singapore’s vibrant East. The portfolio comprises 21 strata-titled shops on the basement, ground and second storeys and an office unit on the fourth storey, of the Development, with a total strata area of approximately 13,520 square feet (sq ft). Unit sizes of the portfolio range from 388 sq ft to 904 sq ft.

Hexacube is a boutique freehold commercial development comprising 73 units in total, with three levels of retail and three levels of offices, supported by a dedicated basement car park with 25 lots and two loading bays. Its striking façade, modern design and excellent road visibility make it a landmark along the bustling Changi Road corridor.

At a guide price of S$38 million, or about S$2,800 per square foot (psf) over the total strata area, the portfolio represents approximately 35% by share value and 28% by strata area of the Development, allowing the purchaser a significant stake in Hexacube to influence the long-term direction and positioning of the Development.

The portfolio for sale is predominantly tenanted, providing investors with immediate rental income and stability. Except for a recently vacated second-storey unit, all other units are leased to a diverse mix of tenants spanning retail, services, and lifestyle trades. This makes the portfolio attractive to both long-term investors seeking stable recurring income and business owners who may wish to secure space for their own operations in a prime freehold asset.

A unique highlight of Hexacube is that every unit comes with its own en-suite bathroom and water point, a rare feature in strata commercial developments. This greatly enhances the functionality and potential usage of the units, enabling a wider range of businesses such as medical and dental clinics, wellness centres, education providers and other service-based trades, subject to approval from the relevant authorities.

Strategically located in District 14, Hexacube enjoys excellent connectivity and visibility. With the major Changi Road thoroughfare, it is well-served by major expressways including the PIE, ECP and KPE. The Development is a short 5-minute walk to the Eunos MRT Station, a stop away from the Paya Lebar MRT Interchange for the East-West and the Circle Lines. Its close proximity to Paya Lebar Central (PLC), one of Singapore’s key growth areas designated by URA as a commercial hub outside the CBD, makes it a natural extension to the PLC providing more service options. With significant government investment and ongoing infrastructure improvements, PLC has transformed into a vibrant business and lifestyle eco-system, attracting major corporations, retailers, service providers and a growing resident population. Hexacube stands to benefit from these enhancements and from the increasing decentralisation of businesses seeking cost-effective and accessible city-fringe locations.

The immediate catchment surrounding Hexacube has also grown substantially in recent years with the completion of large-scale residential projects. Notably, Parc Esta, a 1,399-unit condominium located directly opposite Hexacube, has injected a sizeable and affluent resident base into the neighbourhood. This, combined with established surrounding residential estates and heritage enclaves like Joo Chiat and Katong, ensures strong and consistent footfall for retail and F&B businesses. With limited future supply of freehold strata commercial units in the East, Hexacube represents a rare and enduring opportunity for investors to secure an asset with long-term capital preservation and growth potential.

One compelling factor for Hexacube is its approved commercial use which does not attract Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD) or Seller’s Stamp Duty (SSD). This provides buyers with lower acquisition costs and greater transaction flexibility, making the portfolio especially attractive to family offices, private investors, and institutional buyers alike. The combination of freehold tenure, high ceilings (floor-to-floor heights of over 4 meters for Basement 1 and 5 meters for the Ground, Second and fourth Storeys units), expansive glass frontages, and en-suite bathrooms gives the property a competitive edge over many other commercial offerings in Singapore.

“This is a rare opportunity to secure a meaningful stake in a freehold mixed-use development in Singapore’s East. With strong catchment demographics, growing lifestyle appeal, and government-backed transformation in the Paya Lebar Central precinct, Hexacube is poised for long-term rental resilience and capital appreciation. Investors will benefit from the flexibility in holding for yield and adopting a future strata sell-down strategy, which has already proven attractive to overseas retail investors actively acquiring freehold commercial units in the S$3 million to S$5 million range,” says Ms Carin Puah (潘燕玉), Founder and Executive Director of AlpsEdge Real Estate.

Ms Sammi Lim , Founder and Executive Director of Brilliance Capital, adds: “Freehold strata commercial portfolios of this scale, especially outside the CBD, are exceedingly rare in Singapore’s tightly held market. With its prime location, high specifications, strong tenant profile, and full suite of amenities, Hexacube offers not just stable income but also significant capital upside. It is a trophy opportunity for both yield-focused and growth-minded investors.”

Brilliance Capital and AlpsEdge Real Estate are the joint exclusive marketing agents for this sale. The Expression of Interest closes on 12 November 2025, Wednesday, at 3.00 pm.

UOB Asset Management: Markets at an Inflection Point in 4Q25

SINGAPORE, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — UOB Asset Management (UOBAM) has released its 4Q 2025 Quarterly Investment Strategy, noting that the stability shown by global markets so far could be tested in the months ahead as tariffs begin to weigh more heavily on the US economy.

According to the report, the next stage for global markets will hinge on how consumers respond to rising prices. Corporate earnings strength and sustained growth momentum in the face of policy headwinds have led UOBAM to adjust their positive probabilities upwards. They now see a 50% chance of continued growth, compared to 40% last quarter. That said, they still see a 25% chance of recession and a 25% chance of stagflation.

UOBAM’s fourth quarter strategy is therefore to be neutral weighted between equities and fixed income. Anthony Raza, Head of UOBAM Multi-Asset Strategy, explained that this neutrality is strategic rather than reflecting a lack of conviction. He said, “Given the equal probabilities of market-positive vs market-negative scenarios, we believe a neutral and diversified approach is the most resilient and offers the best chance of achieving positive returns across a range of outcomes.”

Within equities, UOBAM views Asia as a relative bright spot, supported by stronger currencies, attractive valuations and expanding domestic demand. Europe is also thought to be showing signs of recovery after two subdued years. Meanwhile, the firm maintains a balanced outlook for the US, noting that tariff costs are beginning to filter through to the wider economy,

Within fixed income, UOBAM analysts believe that developed market economies will remain resilient, but inflation risks are rising. As a result, they maintain a neutral stance on duration and credits, and expect 10-year bond yields to trade between 4.0% and 4.5%.

Ngee Ann Academy, Newcastle University to Debut Future-Ready Energy Management Curriculum, Open to Regional Enrollment

Ngee Ann Academy looks to new world-class partnership to deepen emerging skillsets; Newcastle University aims to deliver unique cross-disciplinary Master’s programme

SINGAPORE, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Ngee Ann Academy (NAA) – the private education arm of the Ngee Ann Kongsi – and the UK’s Newcastle University will unveil a new partnership to expand access to quality tertiary education in energy management, a discipline of growing importance across the region.

This new partnership will mark several significant firsts:

  • Built on a cross-disciplinary foundation, the programme equips students with specialised skills in emerging fields like AI-driven energy management — aligning directly with future industry demands,
  • This world-class collaboration aims to cultivate experts capable of driving transformative change in energy management in Singapore and across the region, and
  • For the first time, Ngee Ann Academy will welcome regional applicants, while Newcastle University will deliver the programme through its full-time academic faculty based in Singapore — ensuring academic rigour, combined with expertise tailored to needs and perspectives from the region and  continuing to work closely with industry.

Both Ngee Ann Academy and UK’s Newcastle University expect to finalise the collaboration on 16 October 2025.

“Rooted in a rich legacy of educational excellence, The Ngee Ann Kongsi has long shaped Singapore’s learning journey — from foundational schooling to tertiary advancement. In recent years, we have built reputation for delivering high-quality tertiary private higher education, aimed at developing  talent in areas that are consistent and relevant to Singapore’s future needs,” said Ngee Ann Academy CEO Kelly Koh.

“In collaborating with a top-tier tertiary institution like Newcastle University, we expect to nurture talent in areas like renewable energy that will become increasingly relevant to a region that aims to deliver on greater eco-sustainability in the future,” he said.

Professor Jonathan Galloway, CEO and Provost, Newcastle University in Singapore, said: “Newcastle University wanted to launch Master”s programmes working with a very well regarded local partner that has a strong focus on the quality of education and delivering exceptional student services.

“The programme takes inspiration from our outstanding MSc programmes being offered in the UK, and is delivered in Singapore by Newcastle University local faculty who have regional insights, perspectives and strong industry connections. The energy sector insight offered by the programme provides an outstanding platform for our Master”s students to deepen their employability skills and enhance their professional networks and opportunities.” he said.

“The partnership will offer exciting and industry-relevant education and training opportunities in Singapore,” he added.

Journey of Ngee Ann Academy

In 1998, the Ngee Ann Kongsi set up Ngee Ann Education Holdings with the goal of providing best-in-class tertiary education. By 2018, it marked a significant milestone by partnering with King’s College London to offer the Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours (Top-up) — driven by its recognition that professional nursing talent is central to Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem, especially in community care, home-based services and aged care.

“Since the programme’s launch, graduates were highly sought after for their skills in patient care, medication administration and other clinical competencies,” said Mr Koh.

Building on its experience in developing nursing talent, NAA believes that growing expertise in eco-sustainability and renewable energy is mission-critical for the future of economies and communities, he added. In looking for a best-in-class partnership, identified Newcastle as the most suitable partner.

Similarly, Newcastle University was seeking to launch Master’s programmes in partnership with a local partner that prioritises educational quality and exceptional student services. “NAA partners with a selected group of leading universities — including members of the research intensive UK Russell Group and the Australian Go8 — and the collaboration reflects the high standards and strong reputations of both institutions”, said Prof Galloway.

MSc in Energy Management (Renewable Enterprise)

The first Master’s programme launched as part of the collaboration is a one year programme expected to enroll its first two cohorts in September 2026 and January 2027 respectively. As this is a Master’s programme, applicants must hold a good undergraduate degree from a recognised university. The undergraduate degree may be from different disciplines including those that are not engineering or science based, for example in business, management, geography or planning.

Carefully curated to meet evolving industry needs, the programme comprises three distinct elements: discourses on climate change and sustainability within the regional context; practical modules on achieving efficient energy management; and enhanced understanding of compliance and regulation.

In short, the programme equips students with the technical, managerial and entrepreneurial skills essential for a career in energy, renewable technology and sustainability.

Using AI to Fight Overcrowded Animal Shelters – “CALL A PET” Launches on World Animal Day

BONN, Germany, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — On October 4th, World Animal Day, the German Animal Welfare Federation (Deutscher Tierschutzbund), together with the agency Philipp und Keuntje, launches the innovative hotline “CALL A PET”.

Using artificial intelligence, shelter animals are given a voice. Over the phone, they can describe their character, likes, and quirks to potential adopters. This helps overcome biases based on looks and helps animals find truly suitable forever homes.

“Beautiful fur or big eyes don’t say anything about an animal’s personality,” says Lea Schmitz, spokesperson for the German Animal Welfare Federation. A recent survey by Appinio shows that 96% of people mainly look at appearance when choosing a pet. This often leads to poor matches and overcrowded shelters. “CALL A PET” shifts the focus to each animal’s personality.

The system is based on detailed profiles created by caretakers at the Mölln animal shelter. Callers can have a realistic conversation with dog Hector, dog Joker, or cat Simon. Their answers are analyzed in the background to check compatibility. If there’s a good match, a personal meeting at the shelter is arranged.

“AI is not just a gimmick here – it helps solve a real problem,” says Lukas Bausch, who led the technical development. The campaign is supported by social media and influencers.

Call the animals directly:

Hector: +49 40 74302822 – strong, cuddly, loyal, cautious with strangers
Simon: +49 40 74302489 – watchful “sheriff” who shows who he likes
Joker: +49 40 74302173 – selective, spirited, loyal once he trusts you

The animals speak German but also respond to other languages. Standard call rates apply. You can also interact with the animals online.

The detailed press release from the German Animal Welfare Association in German, key visuals, portrait descriptions and photos of the animals, videos with statements, and background information can be found in the media kit: https://ots.de/qhKEcD | Password: Tierschutz!

More information will be available from October 4 at www.callapet.de.
