My Food Bag delivers quality meal service at scale with Infor

Infor CloudSuite F&B instrumental in ensuring leading Kiwi recipe and meal giant achieve productivity and efficiency gains

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – Media OutReach – 11 February 2022 – Infor, the industry cloud company, today announced that My Food Bag, a leading recipe and meal delivery service, has deployed Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage (F&B) ERP to achieve organisational-wide transparency and full visibility of end-to-end profitability.

Having experienced exponential growth over its first five years of operation with revenues of more than $100 million, the cloud-native My Food Bag recognised the need to invest in a modern, industry-specific ERP platform. It completed a rapid implementation of Infor CloudSuite F&B and Infor Product Lifecycle Management for Process (Optiva) — in a matter of months — that has benefited internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite F&B: https://www.infor.com/en-au/products/cloudsuite-food-and-beverage

However, the growth faced myriad challenges as systems and processes were not able to scale with the business. My Food Bag decided to completely transform its back office to support continued meteoric expansion. It focused on finding a partner with industry-specific knowledge, a cloud-first strategy, and strong integration so that its systems could continue to scale.

My Food Bag CEO Kevin Bowler said: “Introducing Infor was a real turning point for the business: it was a signal that we were growing up, that we were maturing. As our product range became more complex and our customers became demanding, it was really important for us to have a single source of the truth, and a single system to support the flow of information right across the business.”

My Food Bag adjusts and creates recipes based on the weekly feedback it collects on every recipe, and Infor has been crucial to customer retention.

“With Infor, we now have clear data on what every ingredient in every recipe is costing us. We can then take that visibility and align it to the feedback from our customers to help us optimise and deliver new recipes that will not only help us grow but keep our customers coming back,” he said.

My Food Bag has improved on-time payments for its 80-plus strong local supplier base with Infor, Bowler explained.

“For some of our farmers, we are their largest customer. They don’t necessarily have the cashflow to support operations for extended periods of time without payment. It’s therefore incredibly important that we pay our suppliers on time and accurately, so they can keep operating and providing produce for our deliveries. Moving to Infor Food & Beverage has really helped streamline our financial processes so that we can be confident that we are paying our suppliers on time,” he said.

According to My Food Bag chief financial officer Mark Winter, prior to Infor, there was “immense difficulty asking very basic questions of the data” as the organisation didn’t have a single source of the truth. “We had multiple sources of the truth – and that meant I was wasting time working through inconsistencies in the data instead of focusing on strategic priorities”.

My Food Bag previously relied on manual spreadsheets for nutritional information and allergens but Infor PLM for Process has provided a robust recipe management system with controls and parameters in place to provide confidence at any scale.

Infor ANZ managing director Jarrod Kinchington said, “My Food Bag is one of New Zealand’s, and indeed the region’s, great success stories. It played a critical role in keeping Kiwis well-nourished when lockdown measures were in place, and Infor is proud to support such an innovative and agile brand delivering quality food each and every day. By adopting a close, transparent partnership approach, Infor has managed to deliver business benefits to My Food Bag in a matter of months compared with the industry standard of many years.”

SaaS recruitment platform Manatal raises $5.1 million in funding to transform hiring globally

The startup is transforming how SMEs recruit by using an AI-powered Applicant Tracking System, allowing companies to hire faster, better and save costs

LONDON, UK – News Direct – 10 February 2022 – Recruitment and onboarding SaaS platform Manatal today announced they have closed US$5.1 million in seed funding from Sequoia India’s Surge alongside angel investors. This funding round comes as the company is quickly scaling. They have placed close to 100,000 people in jobs since 2019 and are used in over 130 countries. Revenues have grown 3x every year.

Team Manatal: (From L-R) Rodrigo A. Aquino (Customer Success Lead), Yassine Bel Mamoun (CTO), Piyaporn Daenphetploy (HR Lead), Jeremy Fichet (CEO), Rahul Kanneri (Engineering Lead)
The fresh funds will be channeled into engineering as the startup looks to enhance their product offering and AI-recommendation engine in the following months. Thousands of SMEs, tech companies and startups have joined Manatal as it aims to become the leading recruitment platform for millions of SMEs while ensuring the highest security and confidentiality with user data.

According to a case study by McKinsey & Company, companies can realise a 40 percent increase in the quality of hires and a 12 percent decrease in first year attrition after they become more thoughtful and data-driven about hiring. As the war for talent continues to intensify amidst changing employee expectations and an increasingly borderless world, companies are also looking for simplified technology-based platforms to enhance their candidate experience. This is to ensure that recruiters have time to focus more on strategic interactions with stakeholders and candidates and less on the tactical aspects of the process.

Manatal’s simplicity helps recruiters leverage the latest technologies to streamline the entire recruitment flow from the sourcing to the onboarding. It also supports companies to improve internal and external communication, enrich their recruitment data sets, track KPIs and provide AI-powered recommendations. With Manatal, SMEs around the globe can combat challenges around talent recruitment and reach their hiring goals in a more affordable way than offered by the various enterprise recruitment solutions in the market.

“Manatal was designed to hire faster and better in a world where getting the best talents is critical for any company’s success. With Manatal, companies can now match the perfect fit for positions they are recruiting for in minutes. We’re proud of the success the platform has seen and are looking forward to further expanding our global reach”, shared Co-Founder and CEO of Manatal, Jeremy Fichet.

Manatal was founded in January 2019 by Jeremy Fichet (French) and Yassine Bel Mamoun (Moroccan) in Bangkok, Thailand. Jeremy has held senior positions in companies like Cdiscount, Orami and Groupon for over 15 years. Yassine has worked as an IT Consultant at Agility Factory, Data Scientist at Orami and served as a Quantitative Research Analyst at BNP Paribas.

Manatal is part of Surge’s sixth cohort of 20 companies that build fresher, smarter solutions to help consumers and businesses adapt to a changing world.

Singapore Furniture Industry Drives Deeper into Sustainability, Aims for Stronger Industry Action for International Leadership, Advocacy

SFIC aims to transform Singapore furniture industry into a regional hub for best sustainability practices in Asean

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 10 February 2022 – The Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) said the trade association and its members will plan and execute a more systematic strategy to create a truly sustainable ecosystem. It will ride on its industry strengths to enable its ecosystem to commit to leadership and advocacy in international markets.

The industry also wants to deliver more creative solutions for high-density urban environments.

Within the next  four years, the vision is to transform Singapore’s furniture industry into a regional hub for best sustainability practices in ASEAN, facilitating capacity building and knowledge sharing within the region. Aligned to this is the pursuit to become a leader in regulatory standards and compliance, especially in the interior fit-out sub-segment of the built-environment.

The fresh push by SFIC comes on the back of a just-completed industry engagement exercise. In this effort, members said they view sustainable business practices as a greenfield opportunity and will collaborate as an industry to further understand how to achieve demand and supply side leadership. Case studies from selected countries were also undertaken to further enrich the industry understanding and direction.

SFIC President Mr Phua Boon Huat said: “The Singapore Furniture Industries Council’s strategic roadmap is anchored on our industry’s competitive advantage in creating solutions for high-density urban environments, as well as our reputation for high quality goods and services.”

Mr Phua added that the road ahead for its industry is one that embraces sustainable transformation and a commitment to leadership and advocacy for stronger action within the furniture industry. Singapore’s furniture industry has a unique edge as it leads the forefront of creating holistic living spaces within high-density urban environments, he said.

Enterprise Singapore Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Lifestyle & Consumer) Ms Dilys Boey: “SFIC’s 2025 Furniture Industry Roadmap will help guide furniture businesses build capabilities and capture new opportunities with shifting consumer preferences and expectations.

“Through our Enterprise Sustainability Programme, Enterprise Singapore is pleased to support SFIC in its plans to build understanding and support businesses, build capability and embrace the demands as well as opportunities that the sustainability agenda brings,” she said.

The industry association aims to deliver this goal through five strategic thrusts.

First, as the lead industry association, the SFIC will invest in building sustainability capability into its ranks through education, awareness and capacity building to empower them to seed this direction into the industry. This will include a review and uplifting of existing practices, building up masterclasses and establishing a dedicated team to champion sustainability.

Second, SFIC will champion the sustainability pursuit and engage stakeholders, including members of the public and consumers, investors, partners to embrace the SFIC vision.

Third, SFIC will lead the way to establish strategic partnerships nationally, regionally and internationally to develop a network and presence physically and digitally. On the cards is the plan to roll out a SFIC Green Inner Circle and an International Sustainability Leader Programme to foster connections and collaborations between local and international furniture leaders on sustainability.

Fourth, the goal is to develop an industry-wide robust system for quality assurance, continued engagement and compliance with sustainability practices. This will take the form of delivering more appropriate assessment tools for companies, certification schemes and support for sustainability transformation programmes within members.

Fifth, with collaboration as a key element, there will be fresh opportunities in  the co-solutioning and piloting of ideas for sustainability partnerships between members and beyond, to help the industry to be at the forefront of innovation for sustainable furniture.

SFIC has just also assumed the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council (AFIC) with the aim of further strengthening intra-ASEAN trade and its competitive advantage in the global market. The eight-member organisation also aims to adopt more green practices on its journey in pursuing sustainable business development.

Prior to this roadmap announcement, SFIC announced in November 2021 that it will collaborate with the Singapore Business Federation and the Singapore Green Building Council. Together, they formed the Alliance for Action (AfA) to bring together stakeholders across different sectors to create and enhance sustainable spaces.

GEODIS Takes Delivery of Fully Equipped Mercedes Trucks to Service its Expanding Asian Road Network

Seven Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor units will be added to GEODIS’ fleet of prime movers in the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC).  The leased vehicles are equipped with the latest security and safety technology and will be utilized on the logistics operator’s owned network in Southeast Asia.

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 10 February 2022 – Supplied by the manufacturer’s Malaysian distributor, Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd and leased from Euroasia Total Logistics (ETL), the new Actros 5 models will be the first of their type to be sold by Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia.

GEODIS has recently expanded its road network in the region with service destinations in Vietnam added to its existing full and partial load service linking Singapore with Malaysia and Thailand.  The network will eventually connect with Chinese markets on a day-definite, door-to-door basis delivering a road transport alternative to the more costly air, and slower ocean, options.

Lakshmanan Venkateswaran, Sub-Regional Managing Director – South East Asia of GEODIS said, “The rapid expansion of our road mode offerings along the spine of Southeast Asia’s economic backbone has resulted in more than 50% increase in volumes since the service’s inception in late 2019.  Linking Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, and now into Vietnam our owned network brings reliable transit-times and cargo security. This new equipment will further enhance these service attributes and aid the fast-growing businesses of our high-tech, retail, ecommerce and FMCG customers.”

The supply of the Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor units breaks new ground for general distributor Hap Seng Truck Distribution Sdn Bhd. “The units feature state-of-the-art safety and security technology including fifth generation Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and MirrorCam in place of a conventional rear-view mirror. The MirrorCam is truly innovative and aerodynamically sophisticated. This creates a saving on fuel of up to 1.3% and offers improved visibility to the rear and in the area of the A-pillar. The MirrorCam also provides added safety during manoeuvring by panning the camera image according to the vehicle’s movements,” commented Mr. Derrick Sim Leng Huat, Chief Executive of Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd.

The Actros 5 have been delivered at a Key Handover Session in Kuala Lumpur on January 15 at which the lease provider Euroasia Total Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd’s Group CEO, Mr Darren Lee said, “It is not just the safety features of these trucks that make them a superior choice but also their improved fuel efficiency and longer service intervals in comparison with older models.  Downtime is reduced with regular maintenance required only every year (or 55,000 km); a significant upgrade over the industry standard of six months (or 30,000 km).  There are few competitors that can match their performance and we applaud GEODIS decision to employ them.”

These vehicles are further equipped to ensure the cargoes are well protected. The keyless starting and remote key access ensure that the driver’s presence is in close proximity to the vehicle at all times together with the remote key, otherwise the vehicle cannot be operated. In addition, specially designed door extensions conceal the access steps into the vehicle which enhances safety and contribute to theft protection.

Since March 2021, GEODIS has expanded its road network capabilities by offering both standard and personalized solutions including its RoadDirect, RoadFast, and RoadSave services. GEODIS balances transit time and costs to ensure customers can tailor the solution that best fits their needs.

In conclusion, Lakshmanan Venkateswaran said, “If ASEAN aspires to see more freight traffic, road borders must see improvement in clearance procedures. Belt road initiatives need the ASEAN countries to harmonize the documentation required to transit their territories. Our owned network and trusted partners play a role in coping with these obstacles, but improvements would be welcomed.  Just so our investment in better vehicles will assist with the challenge of driver recruitment and retention”.

GEODIS – www.geodis.com

GEODIS is a top-rated, global supply chain operator recognized for its commitment to helping clients overcome their logistical constraints. GEODIS’ growth-focused offerings (Supply Chain Optimization, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Distribution & Express, and Road Transport), coupled with the company’s truly global reach thanks to a global network spanning nearly 170 countries, is reflected by its top business rankings: no. 1 in France and no. 7 worldwide. In 2020, GEODIS employed over 41,000 people globally and generated €8.4 billion in revenue.

Pretty Beauty Group launches 10THERA ‘2 Line Irradiating’ HIFU treatment, bringing the latest HIFU technology to the beauty industry in Hong Kong

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 10 February 2022 – The ‘HIFU’ beauty treatment is a popular technology in recent years, it is absolutely not strange to all ladies who love beauty.

HIFU technology continues to improve, it can stimulate the proliferation of subcutaneous collagen without any feeling of pain, so that the skin can be more firmed and wrinkled, also improving the contours, regaining a ‘V’ shaped face! And yet, Pretty Beauty Group has introduced the world’s first 10THERA ‘2-line irradiating’ HIFU beauty instrument! 10THERA is the world’s first HIFU beauty device that uses double simultaneous irradiation. It has a shorter operating time than single-line HIFU devices on the market, and it is more effective to achieve the effect of lifting and tightening the skin.

The Deficiency of the Old “HIFU” Technology

Generally, HIFU equipment requires at least 400 counts to penetrate deep into the dermis to achieve collagen proliferation and the lifting effect. However, a higher amount of counts does not mean a better result, because each body is different from others. If the skin cannot bear the high amount of counts, it will cause an adverse effect, especially for women with loosen skin and mature muscles, the high energy output of 400 counts or more will make them feel pain and discomfort during the treatment.

Upgraded 10THERA ‘2 Line Irradiating’ HIFU treatment

Collagen variant 70% of our skin, the role of collagen is to consolidate our dermal fibers and support our skin. After a woman past the age of 25 years, collagen will be losing naturally, and the skin will lose the support of collagen, causing it to sag and form wrinkles.

The full name of HIFU technology is ‘High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound’. The technical principle is to use instrument probes to heat the dermis of our skin and the layer of the fascia (SMAS) to 60-80 degrees to promote collagen fibers and elastic fibers. Regenerate the shape and contours of our face, reduce wrinkles, and tighten our skin.

36-Year of Brand Still Insist on Using New Technology

As a beauty industry brand that has been established in Hong Kong for 36 years, Pretty Beauty Group still insists on using the latest beauty technology and regularly introduces the newest beauty instrument and technology.

The world’s first 10THERA 2-line irradiating HIFU treatment, bringing the latest HIFU instrument by Pretty Beauty Group, 200 counts of efficacy is equivalent to the 400 counts of the ordinary instrument. Even for older women with more mature muscles, the pain is greatly reduced during the entire treatment and making it a true painless Lift and tighten skin! The 10THERA 2-line irradiating equipment contains two probes, the 3.0mm and 4.5mm individually penetrate deeply into the dermis of our skin and the layer of the fascia (SMAS), and is able to lift the facial contour more accurately and meticulously, improving the elasticity of skin, and smooth facial wrinkles.

10THERA is equipped with auto-stop technology. When the skin reaches a certain temperature, the setting will automatically suspend, making the entire treatment process safer and avoiding skin damage from high temperature.

Pretty Beauty Group on the Prospective of Future Beauty Market

The epidemic is raging, and the beauty industry has ushered in a new wave of closure. Pretty Beauty Group believes that the closure does not mean internal shutdown, but rather a period of time to enhance the equipment and have everything well prepared. Pretty Beauty Group has strengthened its internal training during the industry’s closure, and at the same time has researched and introduced the latest beauty technology. The 10THERA 2-line irradiating HIFU treatment is a good example. In order to bring customers the best beauty experience when the beauty salons reopen.

About Pretty Beauty Group

Pretty Beauty Group was established in the year of 1985. It has been specializing in beauty and body shaping services for 36 years.
