Singapore’s NestBloom Introduces Five-Minute Bird’s Nest In Thailand

NestBloom showcases its freeze-dried Bird’s Nest Blooms at the Singapore Boutique Fair in Bangkok, blending traditional wellness with modern food innovation.

BANGKOK, July 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Bird’s nest, a delicacy that traditionally takes hours to prepare, is now available in a version that takes five minutes. Singapore wellness brand NestBloom made its Thailand debut today, launching its freeze–dried Bird’s Nest Blooms at the Singapore Boutique Fair in Bangkok.

The product is handcrafted into floral shapes using a proprietary freeze drying process inspired by traditional Chinese wellness recipes. Simmered for more than four hours beforehand, the bird’s nest retains up to 95 percent of its nutrients while extending shelf life without preservatives.

The blooms unfold within minutes when hot water is added, offering a dessert and sensory experience. This makes bird’s nest more accessible to busy consumers without losing its traditional quality and authenticity.

NestBloom, distributed by Love & Bloom Pte Ltd and based in Singapore, has also applied the same freeze drying method to other product lines, including fish maw and snow fungus, as part of its regional expansion across Southeast Asia.

Love & Bloom Pte Ltd Business Director Jean Ng said many traditional Asian wellness foods have become difficult to fit into modern routines.

“At NestBloom, we aim to preserve these traditions while reimagining them through innovation, design and food technology.

“We hope our products inspire a younger generation to reconnect with their cultural heritage in a way that feels relevant, beautiful and convenient,” she said.

Jean Ng said the Thailand entry reflects a broader shift toward preventive wellness and functional nutrition, including consumer interest in beauty, immunity and healthy ageing. She said functional foods, which offer benefits beyond basic nutrition, are among the country’s fastest growing food categories, driven by rising health awareness and higher disposable incomes.

She added that Bangkok’s position as a regional hub for luxury retail and wellness brands, which draws affluent consumers and wellness travellers from across the region, supports demand for heritage ingredients presented in modern formats.

Jean Ng said this is part of a wider move toward modern interpretations of traditional Asian wellness, allowing the brand to reach both Thai consumers and international visitors familiar with Asian wellness products from Singapore.

NestBloom is positioned for personal use, gifting and postnatal wellness, and is expanding across Southeast Asia through retail partnerships, wellness collaborations and international distributors.

The Bird’s Nest Blooms are available for visitors to experience at the Singapore Boutique Fair in Bangkok. Those interested in partnership opportunities or product availability can contact the NestBloom team or visit www.nestbloom.com.

Myanmar’s Leader Wraps First ASEAN Visit in Laos, Signs Mekong Dam Study

Myanmar's recently elected President, Min Aung Hlaing, who seized power in the 2021 military coup before being elected earlier this year, has concluded his first visit to Laos. Laos and Myanmar signed tourism agreements, a sister-city partnership, and launched a feasibility study for a proposed 2,790-megawatt hydropower dam along the Mekong border. 03 July 2026. Myanmar’s recently elected President, Min Aung Hlaing, who seized power in the 2021 military coup before being elected earlier this year, wrapped up his first visit to an ASEAN member state, departing Laos on 5 July

The visit produced agreements on tourism cooperation and a sister-city partnership between two capital cities, along with a landmark deal to study a hydropower dam on the Mekong River border between the two countries.

Presidential welcome and official talks

Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Vientiane on 3 July with his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, and a high-level delegation at the invitation of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, to mark the 70th anniversary of Laos-Myanmar diplomatic relations.

A state welcome ceremony followed at the Presidential Palace. Thongloun and Min Aung Hlaing then held official talks covering bilateral cooperation and regional issues, and Thongloun called the visit a milestone in the countries’ seven-decade friendship.

On 4 July, Min Aung Hlaing also met Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane, who pledged closer parliamentary cooperation.

Laos was the first ASEAN state Min Aung Hlaing had visited since taking office in April.

Myanmar’s junta chief-turned-president seized power in a February 2021 coup and ruled the country as military chief for five years before assuming the civilian post that month following elections.

During the leader’s latest visit to Laos, the two governments signed an agreement on tourism cooperation and another establishing a sister-city partnership between Vientiane and Naypyidaw.

Myanmar also handed over 640 doses of snake antivenom serum to Laos.

Dam study on Mekong border

The visit’s most significant outcome came on the second day, when officials signed a Joint Development Agreement in Vientiane to study a hydropower dam along the 230-kilometer Laos-Myanmar border stretch of the Mekong.

Lao company Phongsupthavy Group Sole Co Ltd and Myanmar’s Primus Sapphire Power Co Ltd will jointly carry out the feasibility study for the proposed 2,790-megawatt dam, expected to take 34 months to complete.

Details of the project, including its exact location and preliminary engineering specifications, have not yet been disclosed.

Luang Prabang Visit

Min Aung Hlaing laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument in front of the Lao National Assembly, paid homage at the Thatluang Stupa, met the Chairman of the Myanmar-Laos Friendship Association, and attended a Baci ceremony and state banquet hosted by Thongloun.

On the visit’s final day, Min Aung Hlaing traveled to Luang Prabang, Laos’ UNESCO World Heritage city, and visited temples and other cultural landmarks before departing Luang Prabang International Airport for Myanmar that afternoon, concluding the state visit.

Hyundai Motor Brings Atlas Humanoid Robot to FIFA World Cup 2026™ in First-Ever Live Match Environment Robotics Integration

The moment underscores Hyundai Motor Group’s growing leadership in robotics and its commitment to advancing human-centered innovation through experiences that connect technology with people in meaningful ways.

Why Is This a Milestone for Robotics and Global Sport?

The activation brought advanced robotics to one of the world’s largest sporting platforms, demonstrating how the future technology can operate within the fast-paced environment of a live FIFA World Cup match.

The performance marked two significant milestones:

  • First public demonstration of the real-world movement capabilities of the production version of Atlas, first introduced at CES 2026
  • First-ever integration of a humanoid robot into FIFA World Cup live match environment

By bringing robotics into a live sporting environment, Hyundai Motor is advancing its “Progress for Humanity” vision while demonstrating how robotics innovation can create meaningful experiences for people around the world.

“As part of Hyundai’s ‘Next Starts Now’ campaign, we wanted Atlas’s performance on the world’s biggest stage to demonstrate that the future isn’t something we imagine — it starts now. At Hyundai, we are committed to developing human-centered innovation that integrates seamlessly into everyday life, and to presenting a new vision of future mobility expanded through robotics — showing that robotics can be a trusted partner in humanity’s progress through diverse and creative brand experiences.” – Sungwon Jee, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer, Hyundai Motor Company

What Happened During the Halftime Activation?

At halftime, Atlas emerged from the player tunnel, capturing the crowd’s attention with a sequence of iconic goal celebrations inspired by some of the world’s most celebrated footballers, including Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Matheus Cunha, and Son Heung-min. The performance heightened the stadium atmosphere while underscoring Atlas’ advanced mobility and expressive capabilities.

Following the performance, Atlas delivered the ceremonial match ball to the referee with its signature precision and control, marking the start of the second half. The activation unfolded live before a global audience, showcasing Atlas’ ability to execute highly coordinated movements and operate reliably within the dynamic, real-world environment of a major international sporting event.

How Did Atlas Learn to Demonstrate Football-Inspired Movements Live?

Atlas’ halftime performance was powered by several core robotics capabilities that enable advanced movement and real-world interaction:

  • Retargeting Technology – Allows Atlas to translate and adapt human movements, including football celebrations and gestures, to its own robotic form.
  • Reinforcement Learning – Uses thousands of simulations to train and refine movements before deployment.
  • Whole-Body Control – Coordinates movement across the robot’s entire body, enabling fluid, balanced and dynamic motion.

Together, these capabilities allow Atlas to perform increasingly sophisticated tasks while adapting to changing conditions and environments.

“At Boston Dynamics we have always taken inspiration from human athletic feats like gymnastics, dancing, parkour and now football to push forward the frontier of what robots can do in a way that connects with people. Working with Hyundai Motor group and FIFA to create such a unique moment for fans was an exciting challenge for our team. The way we trained Atlas to perform these fun movements at the match is similar to how we teach the robot to take on real-world industrial applications. It’s a great way to introduce people everywhere to the incredible potential of today’s AI-enabled robots.” – Alberto Rodriguez, Director of Robotics Behavior, Boston Dynamics

How Does This Connect to Hyundai Motor’s Broader “Next Starts Now” Campaign?

The halftime activation builds on Hyundai Motor’s global “Next Starts Now“ campaign, which connects communities through football while inspiring the next generation of players, fans and innovators. The integration of Atlas in live match environment translates conceptual demonstrations into a live, real-world moment on the FIFA World Cup stage and represents the culmination of Hyundai Motor’s robotics storytelling—demonstrating how advanced robotics technology can move beyond controlled environments to operate in dynamic settings and reinforcing that future innovation can be experienced today.

The moment also extends storytelling introduced through Hyundai Motor’s School of Football content series, where Atlas learned football-inspired movements including the “Ghost Rabona” using the same robotics technologies showcased on the FIFA World Cup stage.

Behind-the-scenes content and additional storytelling from the activation will continue across Hyundai Motor’s owned and earned channels in the weeks following the event.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor and BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions will release “The Training Ground,” a documentary-style advertisement feature film showcasing the technical preparation of Atlas’ World Cup activities. Produced in both a 3.5-minute full-length version and a 30-second cutdown, the film will be released on July 7 across Hyundai Motor’s social channels.

What’s Next for Robotics at Hyundai Motor Group?

The FIFA World Cup activation represents Hyundai Motor Group’s most visible demonstration yet of its robotics ambitions, showcasing advanced robotics on one of the world’s largest global stages.

As Hyundai Motor Group continues to invest in robotics, autonomous systems and human-centered innovation, it remains focused on exploring how these technologies can create meaningful real-world experiences and help shape a more connected future.

By bringing together sport, technology and storytelling at FIFA World Cup 2026™, Hyundai Motor continues to advance its “Progress for Humanity” vision while demonstrating how innovation can connect with people in engaging and meaningful ways.

Laos Faces Minor Floods, Landslides as Tropical Storm Brings Heavy Rain

A picture of a large area of flooding occurred in rice fields and houses from Thakhek to Mahaxay on 4 July 2026. (Photo by Laophattana News)

Heavy rain triggered flooding, landslides, and transport disruptions across parts of Laos over the weekend, prompting authorities to warn that more severe weather could follow in the coming days.

On 6 July, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology said strong southwest monsoon winds continued to affect the entire country, particularly northern and central Laos, bringing widespread thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rain.

Authorities warned that flooding and landslides remain possible in several provinces, including Phongsaly, Houaphanh, Bolikhamxay, Vientiane Province, Champasak, Salavan, Sekong, and Attapeu, and urged residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert.

Early Impact

On 4 July, floodwaters swept away a wooden bridge across the Nam Song River near Tham Lom Cave in Vang Vieng after several days of heavy rain pushed water levels sharply higher.

The same day, a cargo truck skidded off a temporary bypass near Houay Pasouan Bridge in Sepon district, Savannakhet Province, after persistent rain left the road slick, causing lengthy traffic delays along Route 9. No injuries were reported.

In Khammouane Province, floodwater inundated parts of two villages in Thakhek district, where several days of rain combined with poor drainage around Huay Pakximang.

The latest damage follows the first flooding of Laos’ 2026 rainy season on 30 June, when flash floods inundated villages and farmland in Bokeo and Phongsaly provinces.

Forecasters said the unstable weather is expected to continue, urging residents in flood-and landslide-prone areas to monitor official forecasts, move valuables to higher ground, and remain prepared for further flooding if heavy rain persists.
