– All bidders will receive NFT by Viva La Vandal

– Supported by Rare Pepe founders Joe Looney and Scarilla

NEW YORK, US / BERLIN, GERMANY – EQS Newswire – 10 March 2022 – Artnet AG, the leading platform for art market data and media, and the global marketplace for fine art is excited to announce its second NFT sale. As a fully integrated, Ethereum compatible, on-chain platform, ArtNFT is among the first in the art world to provide collectors with a transparent, efficient, trustworthy, and digitally native experience with NFTs. With a buyer’s premium of only 10%, Artnet takes position as the most cost-effective curated NFT auction platform in the traditional art market.

Following the highly successful inaugural ArtNFT sale in December 2021, the upcoming sale, Feels Rare Man, centers on the Rare Pepe project, which began in 2016 on a blockchain branch called Counterparty. Feels Rare Man features original Rare Pepes and Fake Rares, launched in 2021 during a resurgence of the Rare Pepe project.

“ArtNFT was envisioned to be an authentic and cryptonative extension of the work we do at Artnet Auctions and Artnet writ-large, and the tight curation and thematic focus of Feels Rare Man speaks meaningfully to our fulfilling that goal,” said Colleen Cash, VP, Auctions.

Works in this on-chain auction can be purchased easily in ETH, and all participating bidders will be airdropped a newly released NFT by artist Viva La Vandal, which will be included in the Fake Rares directory. The number of bidders will determine the edition size. The sale features a strong selection of works by iconic Rare Pepe artists, such as Joe Looney, Rare Scrilla, Mike, Indelible, ICQPEPE, John Villar and Pepenardo, and has found strong support from the Rare Pepe OG artists.

“We have spent significant time connecting with deep and diverse communities across the NFT space, and the communities involved in the Rare Pepe and Fake Rares worlds are active, engaged, and engaging,” said Cash. “We are thrilled to be working in such close collaboration with the real OGs and founders in this critical part of the NFT world.”

Artnet is a pioneer of the digital art market and was the first company to offer online sales of fine art. Today, artnet Auctions hosts more than 70 curated auctions annually, featuring a range of coveted post-war and contemporary paintings, sculptures, prints and photographs. As of the end of 2021, the value of transactions sold on Artnet Auctions had increased by 6% YoY to 25.8 million USD, and revenues have increased by 6% to 5.2 million USD. Access Partnership and Partners Release Whitepaper on The Role of Satellite Communications in Disaster Management

LONDON, UK – Media OutReach – 10 March 2022 – Access Partnership, the leading global public policy firm for the tech sector has released a Whitepaper addressing the need to further utilise satellite technology for disaster management. This seminal paper highlights the crucial role that satellite services and next-generation satellite-enabled connectivity will have in saving millions of lives and reducing government expenditure during and post disaster. Providing unique data, the document forecasts the economic impact and future burden countries will face if disaster communications planning is not taken seriously.

This Whitepaper was released together with following partners, under the umbrella of the Fair Tech Institute:

  • CANLA: The Climate Action Network Latin America (CANLA), is a regional network of non-governmental organizations committed to fighting the causes and harmful effects of climate change.
  • AlphaBeta: AB provides strategic advice that leads to new, innovative, and practical solutions addressing issues ranging from automation of jobs, biodiversity loss to poverty alleviation.
  • TSFI: Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) is the world’s first NGO focusing on emergency-response technologies.
  • GSOA: The pre-eminent platform for collaboration between satellite operators globally, providing a unified voice for the sector.

As the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) showed in its latest report, released in August 2021, the immediate effects of global climate change are widespread, rapid and accelerating.

This Whitepaper focuses on the undeniably necessary call to action:

Call to Action for Governments and Stakeholders:

  • Providing clear strategies to minimise damages.
  • Increasing speed of response in critical times.
  • Regulating for future technologies that may assist rapid rescue.
  • Multiplying resources by partnering with the private sector.

For more information on the Whitepaper and best practice for effective policy planning, download the “The Role of Satellite Communications in Disaster Management“.

As natural disasters increase yearly, satellite networks will help save millions of lives

As the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) showed in its latest report, released in August 2021, the immediate effects of global climate change are widespread, rapid and accelerating. For cities in temperate latitudes, this means more heat waves and shorter cold seasons. In subtropical and tropical latitudes, it means wetter rainy seasons and hotter dry seasons. Most coastal cities will be threatened by sea level rise. Although most types of weather-related disasters are likely to become more common across all regions, global heating above 1.5C will be “catastrophic” for island nations and could lead to the loss of entire countries due to sea level rise within the century.

Providing unique data, Access Partnership’s newly published paper “The Role of Satellite Communications in Disaster Management” shows that the impact of natural disasters will be concentrated among low- and middle-income countries, which are relatively less prepared to adapt. The paper shows that natural disasters currently cost the agricultural sector of these economies more than USD 108 billion in damaged crop and livestock production. Should the level of financing in climate adaptability remain low, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) estimates that climate change adaptation and natural disaster damages would cost developing countries a range of USD 280 to USD 500 billion per year by 2050, a figure four to five times higher than previous estimates.

Caption

To reduce the socioeconomic impact of climate-related disasters, governments are encouraged to increase investment in physical and social infrastructure and allow for the upscaling and acceleration of far-reaching, transformational adaptation strategies. This includes the effective use of satellite networks and next-generation satellite technology.

One of such strategies include the development of emergency telecommunication plans (NETPs) given the crucial role telecoms can play in saving lives and protecting communities when disasters strike. As shown by this study, we need a concerted effort to fix the underlying inefficiencies of our current, existing communication systems. The paper highlights that the availability of communication networks directly related to the ability of responding quickly to emergencies. They are imperative to ensure efficient and accurate information flows during and post disaster management. Many studies have been conducted over the past decade to understand the impact of reducing emergency response times on health and economic outcomes during natural disasters. A reduction in response times during natural disasters has a significant impact on mortality, morbidity, and property damage costs.

Considering the pressing need to ensure communications systems remain operational during inevitably difficult situations such as natural disasters, satellite services and next-generation satellite-enabled connectivity can help addressing the limitations faced by our present terrestrial telecommunication network. The adoption of new strategies and technological solutions – as a crucial component of disaster preparedness – would allow the less connected to communicate during emergency situations, ensuring that emergency communications are more accessible for better rescue responses.

The whitepaper sheds light on the different economic outcomes resulting from increased natural disasters occurring at a global scale. The study shows that though most types of weather-related disasters are likely to affect countries of all income groups, the economic burden in low-income countries is disproportionate. With less resources, know how, policies in place, investment on infrastructure, equipment and in training, low-income jurisdictions are particularly vulnerable to the consequences of climate change. For instance, breaking down by regions, Asia Pacific is expected to incur the greatest economic damage at USD 165 billion from 2025-29, or 42% of the total.

Considering their unpreparedness to bear the financial costs and the need to protect human lives, collaborative efforts between governments and the private sector are urgently needed to maintain adequate NETPs.

The document calls for greater stakeholders’ coordination to ensure a robust, effective and harmonized communication plan and strategy to face the increasing number of natural disasters that are likely to impact our countries. The initiative focuses on requesting Government to be more innovative, allowing the introduction of effective and inclusive emergency satellite-based communications services for its adequacy during and post-disasters relief efforts.

By ensuring an enabling regulatory environment that allows for the roll-out of new satellite-based emergency communications solutions, governments can save lives and protect communities.

2021 Revenue Up 29.2% to HK$3,777.7 million; Adjusted Profit to Shareholders of the Company Up 34.7% to HK$422.2 Million; Dividend for the Year of HK 10.1cents Per Share, a Year-on-Year Surge of 140.5%

“Global Footprint”, “Region for Region Manufacturing” and “Dual Source Production” Strategies to Grasp Opportunities in Post-Pandemic Era

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 10 March 2022 – Impro Precision Industries Limited (“Impro ” or the “Group”) (Stock Code: 1286), a world-leading manufacturer of high-precision, high-complexity and mission-critical casting and machined components, has today announced its annual results for the year ended 31 December 2021.

In 2021, volatile epidemic situation of the novel coronavirus has cast a shadow on global economy recovery. However, the Group has seen a strong recovery in certain segment end-markets, such as commercial vehicle, hydraulic equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, recreational boat and vehicle, and the revenue in these end-markets has even exceeded the highest level in history. During the year, the revenue of the Group amounted to HK$3,777.7 million, representing an increase of 29.2% as compared to last year. The Company recorded a net profit attributable to shareholders of the Company of HK$382.8 million and basic earnings per share of HK20.3 cents. The adjusted profit attributable to Shareholders of the Company amounted to HK$422.2 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.7%. The Group resolved to declare a second interim dividend of 2021 of 7.2 HK cents per share. Along with the first interim dividend of 2.9 HK cents per share, dividend for the year amounted to 10.1 HK cents per share, representing an increase of 140.5% as compared to 4.2 HK cents per share in last year.

Regarding the automotive end markets, as a result of the substantial increase in demand for commercial vehicle components in North America and Europe, automotive components revenue reached HK$1,723.3 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 23.6%. Revenue from commercial vehicle components increased by 43.6% year-on-year to HK$755.0 million. Moreover, the Group has successfully developed various new energy vehicle parts and surface treatment services for certain manufacturers of new energy vehicles. Revenue in relation to new energy vehicles exceeded HK$30 million, representing a year-on-year increase of over 3.3 times.。

During the year, the industrial and others end-market also performed well. Revenue rose by 39.0% year-on-year to HK$1,748.6 million, reaching a historical high level. Among which, revenue from hydraulic equipment business increased by 61.4% year-on-year to HK$399.9 million, mainly due to the Group’s business development with new customers in the hydraulic market in the PRC last year, as well as the increased demand in the US as a result of the increased investment in infrastructure projects launched by the US government, resulting a strong demand for products in this end-market. Sales of construction equipment and agricultural equipment has been benefited from the North American market and the additional revenue of new models this year, thus increased significantly by 55.1% and 57.3% to HK$276.0 million and HK$254.0 million respectively. Driven by the “staycation” and the new products and new opportunities in health and sports trends, revenue from the recreational boat and vehicle end market increased by 50.6% year-on-year to HK$188.1 million. Against the backdrop of global pandemic and power restrictions in the PRC, market demand for distributed power engines increased. As a result, sales of high horsepower engines increased rapidly by 56.0% during the second half of the year, and for the full year 2021, the growth rate was 22.2%.

The number of newly developed aerospace SKUs of the Group in 2021 increased by 54.7% year-on-year to 215 units, reaching a record high. Due to the continuous impact of the pandemic, international travel in the aerospace industry remained at a “near halt” in 2021, resulting in a slight increase of 5.5% in product sales revenue in the related aerospace end-market as compared to last year. With the gradual recovery of the aerospace business market, it is expected that the business in the aerospace segment will likely show a more significant recovery in 2022. The medical end-market was benefited from the recovery of customer demand, with revenue increased by 25.8% during the year.

The Group adheres to the strategies of “Global Footprint” , “Region for Region Manufacturing” and “Dual Source Production” and has constructed the Mexico SLP Campus, its North American production base in Mexico, to serve a range of end markets in North America including automotive, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, high horsepower engine, hydraulic equipment and aerospace medical. The sand casting plant and the precision machining plant of Mexico SLP Campus, have been put into production in November 2021, while the construction of the other three plants, including investment casting, aerospace components and surface treatment plants has also commenced, and it is planned to commence production in 2022. It is expected that flexibility of the Group’s operations will be enhanced, potential supply chain and tariff risks caused by geopolitics can be mitigated, and production chain cycle can be significantly shortened, thus overall operational efficiency can be improved. Revenue from the plants in Mexico surged from approximately HK$50 million to over HK$100 million in 2021, representing an increase of nearly 100%. As the plants in Mexico SLP Campus gradually commenced operations, production capacity will be highly elevated. It is estimated that revenue from the plants in Mexico may reach HK$300 million in 2022.

Looking forward, despite the potential issues brought about by the Omicron variant, lockdowns and entry restrictions have been lifted in various countries as vaccination rate around the global surges. It is expected that international travel activities will be gradually resumed in 2022, and the business of aerospace end market may become the future growth engine of the Group. Meanwhile, the business of industrial end market of the Group still possesses massive growth potential. In particular, bills in relation to enhancement of local infrastructure projects have passed in the U.S. Demand for construction equipment and commercial vehicles, as well as the hydraulic equipment associated with construction equipment, will surge and this is expected to drive the growth the Group’s business in the industrial end market. Embracing various opportunities ahead, the Group has been well positioned to seize the opportunities. As at 28 February 2022, the Group’s total order on hand to be fulfilled in the next twelve months reached HK$3,748 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 42.9%, or an increase of 18.4% when compared with the total orders on hand to be fulfilled in the next 12 months as at 31 July 2021.

Mr. Lu Ruibo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Impro, said, “Driven by the rising demand, along with the slowdown in the increase in the prices of certain raw materials, the agreement reached with major customers in the end of 2021 to adjust product prices, and the optimization of internal processes to improve operational efficiency, gradual improvement in the Group’s profit margin in the future is anticipated. Meanwhile, the Group will continue to strengthen its research and development capabilities while expanding its production capacity to provide customers with more diversified and customized products and services. Leveraging on its global production base and capacity expansion, the Group will consolidate and expand its global customer base, seize the business opportunities arising from the recovery of market demand after the pandemic, and strive to achieve sustainable profit growth to create better returns for its Shareholders in the long run.”

DHL and Singapore Airlines ink new agreement to expand partnership

  • DHL Express to deploy five Boeing 777 freighters with Singapore Airlines on Crew and Maintenance agreement (CM)
  • First two aircraft to be delivered in July and October 2022
  • Ken Lee: “New agreement guarantees capacity on our critical routes out of Singapore.”
  • Lee Lik Hsin: “New freighter operation will support fast-growing e-commerce segment.”

Based at Singapore’s Changi Airport and serving DHL’s South Asia Hub there, the freighters, which will sport a dual DHL-SIA livery, will be operated by SIA pilots on routes to the USA via points in North Asia. SIA will also oversee the maintenance of these aircraft.

The initial agreement is set for more than four years with the opportunity for an extension. As part of the agreement, the first aircraft delivery will be in July 2022, with the second in October 2022. The remaining three aircraft are planned for delivery throughout 2023.

Lee Lik Hsin, Executive Vice President Commercial, SIA, said: “Today’s agreement builds on and strengthens the long-standing partnership between SIA and DHL. This new freighter operation will support the fast-growing e-commerce segment, in addition to other key business segments that rely on trusted express services that DHL excels in providing. It also provides a foundation on which the partnership between SIA and DHL can be further expanded in the future. The Boeing 777 freighters are the world’s largest, longest range, and most capable twin-engine freighters that also contribute to DHL’s sustainability goals, reducing CO2 emissions by 18 percent compared to the legacy B747-400s.

SIA’s cargo division operates to more than 90 destinations as part of its current network, which includes a fleet of freighters as well as the bellyhold space of the SIA and Scoot passenger aircraft.
