WTF Summit 2025: Sumsub Unveils Dual Initiatives to Advance Digital Trust in Singapore–Deepfake Research Collaboration with NTU, and Introduction of Singpass Integration Services

  • Sumsub offers clients the option to integrate with Singpass as part of its Non-Doc Verification product, enabling secure, compliant, and document-free onboarding for Singaporean users.
  • Sumsub and NTU Singapore sign a RCA to foster research on watermarking methods for personal images targeting deepfake fraud, marking the first Asia-Pacific initiative under Sumsub’s AI Academic Program.

SINGAPORE, Nov. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sumsub, a global verification and anti-fraud leader, announced two major initiatives at its inaugural What The Fraud Summit (WTF Summit). These include the launch of its integration services to Singpass, Singapore’s national digital identity platform, as part of  its Non-Doc Identity Verification product, and the signing of a Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), a research-intensive public university, under Sumsub’s AI Academic Program, to jointly advance research on watermarking personal images as a new defense against deepfake fraud—the first initiative of its kind in Asia-Pacific (APAC).

Together, these initiatives reaffirm Sumsub’s commitment to building a safer, more inclusive, and accessible digital future for Singapore and beyond. This also aligns with the country’s Smart Nation 2.0 priorities of strengthening digital trust, driving innovation-led growth, and nurturing a connected, technology-enabled community.

“Singapore stands out as one of the world’s most advanced digital ecosystems, anchored by its focus on security, innovation, and collaboration. As our regional headquarters, Singapore plays a pivotal role in driving our growth and partnerships across APAC,” said Andrew Sever, Co-founder and CEO of Sumsub. “Facilitating integration with Singpass and our research partnership with NTU reflect our commitment to supporting the country’s digital trust ecosystem and to contributing to a safer, fraud-resilient digital environment. At Sumsub, we are dedicated to working alongside regulators, academia, and businesses throughout the region to build a more secure, accessible, and inclusive digital future.”

Seamless, Document-Free User Onboarding with Singpass Integration

By facilitating the integration with Singpass for its clients, Sumsub enables businesses in Singapore—and global companies expanding into the market—to authenticate Singaporean citizens and residents efficiently for seamless onboarding. Clients’ integration requests are submitted to, reviewed, and approved by Singpass on a case-by-case basis. Singpass is familiar to 5 million citizens and residents and trusted across more than 2,700 government and private-sector services.

Sumsub’s role as an aggregator for Singpass integration enables clients to deploy Sumsub’s advanced document-free verification technology on its platform and verify users via secure government databases such as Myinfo. This ensures regulator-approved access to verified identity and address data, fully compliant with Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) AML/CFT obligations and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) standards.

Login with Singpass enables users to verify their identity by scanning a QR code and authenticating using their biometrics or a six-digit passcode on the Singpass app. Additionally, Singpass Myinfo allows users to consent to sharing verified personal data from government sources to businesses, eliminating the need for manual document submission.

Users can now complete verification in as little as 4.5 seconds, compared to the typical 30 seconds for document-based methods. The process is tamper-proof and secure, and delivers up to 53% reduction in processing time and 35% improvement in customer pass rates. Companies – whether local or global and operating in Singapore – must be registered in Singapore with a UEN number.

In future, Sumsub plans to expand its integration services to more Singpass features. This will allow businesses to complete end-to-end digital onboarding and agreement signing entirely using Singpass.

Research Collaboration with NTU Singapore: Pioneering Human-Imperceptible Watermarks for Digital Identity Defense

At the WTF Summit, Sumsub signed a RCA with NTU Singapore to launch a strategic research collaboration focused on developing advanced protections against deepfake (also known as face-swap) technologies. This initiative is part of Sumsub’s AI Academic Program, which funds and supports academic research tackling emerging identity and fraud risks through collaborative innovation with academic institutions worldwide.

The joint research project with NTU Singapore will explore the use of analogous, human-imperceptible watermarks embedded in personal images to prevent or degrade deepfake generation.

According to Sumsub’s latest internal data, deepfake fraud remains a persistent threat to Singapore, with a staggering record of 158% year-on-year surge in 2025. Together, Sumsub and NTU Singapore will investigate and prototype watermarking methods that deter misuse of personal images on social media platforms, filling a critical gap in digital safety.

Professor Lam Kwok Yan, Associate Vice President (Strategy & Partnerships) and Executive Director of Digital Trust Centre, NTU, said: “Deepfake technologies are advancing rapidly, and their misuse poses growing risks to individuals, businesses and society. Through this collaboration, we are advancing watermarking techniques that can help enhance trust by safeguarding personal identities before misuse occurs. By developing defences that work at scale and in real-world online environments, this research will contribute to Singapore’s broader efforts in building digital trust and ensuring a safer online ecosystem.”

“Our research collaboration with NTU comes at a critical moment for Singapore and the wider APAC, where deepfake fraud and identity threats are escalating at an unprecedented pace,” said Pavel Goldman-Kalaydin, Head of AI and Machine Learning at Sumsub. “This joint project marks the first initiative under our AI Academic Program in the region, and it’s just the beginning. By combining pioneering research with real-world anti-fraud expertise, we aim to equip individuals and organizations with effective defenses against synthetic fraud and contribute to digital safety worldwide.”

The WTF Summit, held from November 19-20, 2025 at Andaz Singapore, marked the first visionary summit dedicated to beating the global “fraudemic”. Bringing together over 500 leaders and practitioners from finance, compliance, technology, and regulation, the event featured close to 60 distinguished speakers across panel discussions, fireside chats, debates, and expert-led certified workshops. Designed as a practical platform for innovation and collaboration, the summit spotlighted emerging challenges in AI-driven fraud, digital identity, and compliance, while reaffirming Singapore’s role as a global hub for advancing digital trust across the Asia-Pacific.

WUHU, China, Nov. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — On November 11, 2025, the “Double 11 • Drive the T11” livestream for the Chery FULWIN T11 partnered with AiMOGA Robotics to deliver the industry’s first robot-led livestream car sales session. According to the operations team, online viewership surged sharply when the robot came on screen—tripling concurrent viewers compared with before its appearance—and total exposure exceeded expectations by more than twofold. During the two-and-a-half hours the robots were present, peak concurrent viewership reached 11,000, with highly active user interaction and a vibrant atmosphere.

A unique “livestream assistant” became the highlight of this year’s event—the AiMOGA humanoid robot Mornine, appearing alongside the quadruped robot Argos. Together, they delivered real-time product explanations, interactive movements, and dance elements, creating an immersive and tech-driven livestream experience.

At 18:00, Mornine entered the studio and opened with a natural self-introduction:
“Hello everyone, I’m Mornine, today’s livestream assistant from AiMOGA Robotics. I’m delighted to join the FULWIN T11 Double 11 livestream and introduce the FULWIN T11 together with our hosts.”
Her expressive facial cues, humanlike speech, and precise gestures immediately energized the livestream.

Mornine then delivered a detailed breakdown of the FULWIN T11’s highlights:
“The FULWIN T11 is built on the Golden-Range-Extended CEM platform, equipped with a 1.5TGDI high-efficiency range-extender engine, and integrates a high-performance range-extending system, intelligent electric AWD, and a high-energy-density battery…”
The robot’s stable and consistent performance presented complex vehicle technologies in a more intuitive way, reducing the burden on human hosts and keeping the livestream efficient and structured.

According to the livestream team, Mornine and Argos brought significant traction: viewer count tripled during their segment, overall exposure more than doubled, and user participation increased noticeably. Both robots remained on set for roughly two and a half hours, completing product explanations and improvised performances smoothly—demonstrating reliability and strong repeatability for livestream applications.

With stable execution and humanlike interactive abilities, robot livestream assistants like Mornine and Argos are becoming indispensable partners in livestream studios. They ease the workload on human hosts while delivering a smarter, more engaging viewing experience, helping brands establish a new “AI + Livestreaming” paradigm that elevates both traffic conversion and brand perception.

Where city meets wetland: Dongying’s vision for coexistence

DONGYING, China, Nov. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A news report from chinadaily.com.cn:

The Yellow River Delta, formed by vast amounts of sand and silt carried by the river, gave rise to Dongying, a city in East China’s Shandong province.

Situated at the river’s mouth where it meets the Bohai Sea, Dongying has over 4,567 square kilometers of wetlands, covering 41.6 percent of its area. The city is recognized as one of the world’s first International Wetland Cities, and the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve is also a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the “Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China (Phase II)”.

The reserve is a key stopover on the East Asian–Australasian and Pacific Flyways and hosts 1,633 animal species and 685 plant species. More than 200 migratory bird species visit annually for breeding, wintering, or rest, including 34 globally threatened species. The best birdwatching season runs from October to April, when tens of thousands of birds fill the sky above the estuary, forming shapes that resemble a giant whale or drifting clouds.

This year’s Yellow River Estuary International Birdwatching Season began on Nov 15. Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO’s Regional Office for East Asia, praised the reserve as not only an ecological treasure for China but also an example of international cooperation in protecting nature.

But this remarkable revival stands in sharp contrast to the reserve’s earlier condition.

“The reserve was once saline-alkaline land, with sparse wild grasses and sand filling the air,” recalled Zhang Xitao, a senior engineer at the reserve.

Over the years, Dongying has been committed to wetland protection and restoration. In the past three years alone, the city has replenished over 520 million cubic meters of water, removed 8,800 hectares of invasive Spartina alterniflora, restored 3,500 hectares of native plants, and expanded wetlands by 5,000 hectares. Vegetation coverage now reaches 55.1 percent, making it China’s largest newly established coastal wetland zone.

Even within the city, wildlife thrives. A crested ibis, a nationally protected species, has made Mingtan Park its home since October 2024. Although Dongying is a major crude oil production center, the city shows that urban development can coexist with nature.

Here, modern buildings and flocks of birds share the skyline — a new vision of a city that becomes part of nature itself.

Ant Group Chairman Eric Jing Outlines Strategy for Inclusive AI, Collaboration on Tokenised Settlement

  • AI-as-a-Service applications will make AI virtual CFO and COO for SMEs
  • Public-private collaboration in regulatory sandboxes help to provide clarity and certainty when it comes to new technology like tokenisation and AI

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 November 2025 – Eric Jing, Chairman of Ant Group, said the company’s focus is on putting new payment and operation tools powered by AI and tokenisation technology in the hands of SMEs, to fully embrace the next wave of global productivity revolution.

Ant Group Chairman Eric Jing (second from right) shares insights during a panel discussion titled “Steering the Global Future” during the Singapore FinTech Festival on November 14, 2025.
Ant Group Chairman Eric Jing (second from right) shares insights during a panel discussion titled “Steering the Global Future” during the Singapore FinTech Festival on November 14, 2025.

“We are passionate about using frontier technology to support SMEs and the use of AI will really uplift inclusion,” Jing said during a panel discussion titled “Steering the Global Future” during the Singapore FinTech Festival on November 14, 2025.

Jing was joined by Agustín Carstens, Former General Manager, Bank for International Settlements (BIS); Ravi Menon, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN); Ambassador (Climate Action), Singapore & Former Managing Director, Monetary Authority of Singapore, GFTN, and Dr. Razeen Sally who moderated the panel.

From Agentic Payment to Agentic Finance: A Virtual CFO, and COO for SMEs

On the consumer front, Jing expects the rise of personalised AI financial managers and advisors. On the business front, “Agentic payment is one of the most important forces driving agentic commerce and agentic systems,” Jing said. Ant will focus on democratising AI for SMEs at a time when small businesses engaged in global trade face increasingly complex payment and risk environments.

“Many SMEs may not have sophisticated digital skills or a large workforce to support them in doing business, and this is where AI agents can really play a role in helping them to navigate the landscape,” Jing said.

Antom, the merchant payment and digitisation services arm of Ant International, is using Antom Copilot to support payment integration, merchant onboarding, risk management settings, and chargeback response. Copilot cuts payment integration time by over 90%, boosts chargeback winning rates by 3 percentage points, and shortens chargeback resolution time by 46 percent.

During the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025, Antom also launched EPOS360, an app that brings point-of-sale (POS) system, payments, banking, lending, and growth support together to help micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs) move from setup to scale efficiently.

“Agentic AI will act like your COO, your CFO. They are stepping in as virtual financial and operational planners and implementers for SMEs, enabling them to compete globally,” Jing said.

He added that the rise of agentic payments and multi-agent systems are already on track, where autonomous AI agents collaborate to execute complex end-to-end transactions.

Collaboration with MAS on AI and Blockchain is an Exemplar of Public-Private Collaboration

“The tokenisation of money that enables global real-time settlement across borders will be particularly beneficial to SMEs and companies doing global trade,” Jing said. “On such important projects, it is necessary to have policy leadership from regulators like the Monetary Authority of Singapore, who provides institutional clarity and brings together an industry ecosystem of collaboration.”

Ant International’s deep collaboration with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) through key initiatives like Project Guardian and PathFin.ai sets an exemplary model of public-private partnership, especially when blockchain and AI have emerged as global themes.

“We are honoured to participate in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s regulatory sandboxes. They provide the clarity and certainty needed to responsibly deploy cutting-edge technologies while managing risks,” said Jing. “This new technology is up and coming, we cannot shy away from it. Instead, the right way is to harness the technology to get the benefits while keeping in mind the potential risks and challenges.”

Under Project Guardian, Ant International has contributed to pilot efforts in tokenised money and cross-border settlements, demonstrating how real-time, transparent and credible blockchain-based payments can benefit SMEs engaged in global trade.

Through MAS’ PathFin.ai programme, Ant International is also actively engaging in knowledge exchange on AI implementations. Jing highlighted Ant International’s Falcon Time-Series Transformer (TST) Model — an 8.5-billion-parameter AI model designed for FX and liquidity forecasting. The model has significantly improved accuracy in predicting cash flow and liquidity, helping businesses reduce hedging costs in today’s volatile global economy.

“Through participating in sandboxes, we see benefits and opportunities to improve our products before rolling them out. It has really been a pleasure to be part of that – MAS is taking a very proactive role and it’s enormously valuable,” said Jing.

Ant International, which became independent in 2024, is headquartered in Singapore. The company now collaborates with over 1,400 institutional partners and provides global payment, settlement and digitisation services to 150 million merchants, and a network of global wallets and national QR schemes that together serve over 1.8 billion consumer accounts.

Midea Demonstrates Comprehensive Sustainable HVAC Lineup at C&R 2025 in Madrid

BERLIN, Nov. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — From November 18 to 20, Midea Air Conditioning showcased a robust portfolio of sustainable innovations at C&R 2025, Spain’s leading trade fair for air conditioning, heating, cooling and ventilation professionals. These include Midea’s R290 series, ECOMASTER system, PortaSplit portable unit, and the modular H-Pack solution, highlighting its leadership in energy efficiency, natural refrigerants, and intelligent climate control.

Midea’s R290 Series reflects the brand’s “GREEN VISION BLUE FUTURE” philosophy. Recognized as the world’s first enterprise to commercialize R290 air conditioning, Midea began its journey in 2010 with an UN-funded pilot production line. Today, the company operates 12 advanced production lines with an annual output capacity of 6.4 million units. Its R290 solutions have been widely adopted across global markets, contributing significantly to carbon reduction and influencing international standards for eco-friendly refrigerants.

Backed by a research force of over 10,000 engineers and 42 pilot laboratories, Midea has developed a full-spectrum R290 product matrix. These offerings span residential, commercial, and industrial applications, reflecting the company’s strategic vision of making green technology scalable and accessible.

Another highlight was the ECOMASTER, an artificial intelligence (AI) energy-saving system that optimizes the performance of Midea appliances, particularly air conditioners, to reduce energy consumption. By continuously monitoring indoor conditions and external weather patterns, ECOMASTER executes real-time adjustments with a tolerance of ±0.3°C. This ensures consistent comfort while optimizing energy use, achieving over 30% in energy savings.

Integrated into models such as Solstice and Solunar, the system sets new benchmarks in efficiency. Solstice boasts an A+++ cooling and A++ heating rating, while Solunar achieves A++ cooling and A+ heating performance, both representing the next generation of smart, sustainable air conditioning.

The PortaSplit portable air conditioner also drew significant attention. Engineered for high performance and installation flexibility, it features a SEER rating of 6.1 and a SCOP rating of 4.0. Its design accommodates a wide range of European window types, including French balconies, attic rooftops, and horizontal sliders. This adaptability makes it suitable for a wide range of housing styles, from modern apartments to heritage buildings. Demonstrations at the booth showcased its tool-free, three-step installation process, which has already driven strong market demand and a sell-out launch in France.

Also showcased was the H-Pack, a compact heating solution selected for this year’s C&R Innovation Gallery, which spotlights low-GWP refrigerants, digital control, and circular economy principles. Engineered by Midea’s European R&D team, the H-Pack utilizes eco-friendly R290 refrigerant and eliminates the need for an external unit. Its modular, indoor-ready design ensures seamless compatibility with gas boiler systems while simplifying installation and maintenance. Combining efficiency, versatility, and a space-saving structure, it delivers a cost-effective approach to modern heating. Live demonstrations by German experts further illustrated its user-friendly architecture and practical advantages in real-world applications.

Beyond product innovation, Midea fostered professional engagement through interactive workshops held throughout the event. These sessions facilitated technical exchange and deepened industry collaboration. The brand extended its presence beyond the exhibition hall through promotional campaigns featuring its dual sponsorships with Manchester City and Sevilla FC across Gran Vía, Feria de Madrid, and IFEMA, underscoring Midea’s dedication to passion, community engagement, and high-performance excellence.

Midea continues to advance its mission of driving intelligent transformation across residential and industrial environments. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the company envisions a future shaped by human-machine collaboration. By integrating KUKA industrial robotics and MIRA home automation technologies, Midea aims to redefine efficiency and elevate human experience, empowering individuals to pursue creativity and progress.
