Bybit Crypto Insights Report: Aster Takes on Hyperliquid in the Perp DEX Boom

DUBAI, UAE, Sept. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has released its latest Bybit Crypto Insights report, analyzing the growth of decentralized perpetual exchanges and how Aster has emerged as a competitor to Hyperliquid.

Bybit has entered the onchain DEX race with Byreal, a Solana-based decentralized exchange now in beta and set for mainnet in early October. According to DefiLlama, Byreal has recorded more than $335.41M in cumulative trading volume since its beta launch, with daily volume peaking at $28.15M. TVL reached a high of $14.22M. Byreal uses hybrid liquidity models, including RFQ and CLMM mechanisms, to reduce slippage and curb MEV.

The Rise of Aster

Aster was formed from the merger of Astherus and ApolloX and launched in September with a token that surged more than 300 percent in hours. The ASTER token reached a $1.33 billion market cap within two days. Aster’s features include MEV-free execution, hidden orders and dual trading interfaces designed for both retail and professional users. Plans for a zero-knowledge-powered chain and integration with the Binance ecosystem have strengthened its early positioning.

How Aster stacks up against Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid remains the leading decentralized perp DEX, recording about $200 billion in September trading volume compared with Aster’s $20 billion. Its market capitalization is estimated at $13.2 billion, while Aster’s is about $2.5 billion.

The two platforms reflect contrasting strategies. Hyperliquid built its own Layer 1 infrastructure with HyperBFT consensus and sub-second finality, delivering centralized exchange-like execution entirely on chain. Aster was mainly launched on BNB Chain with a modular design and emphasizes ecosystem integration, branding and token-driven growth.

How is Hyperliquid different from dYdX/GMX?

Legacy platforms such as dYdX and GMX emphasize decentralization as a core principle. By comparison, newer players like Hyperliquid and Aster prioritize speed, liquidity and user experience. Both sacrifice a degree of decentralization in favor of performance.

Hyperliquid and beyond

Bybit’s report notes that ideals such as trustlessness and community governance are taking a back seat to execution and user experience. Hyperliquid has long been the sector’s benchmark, having developed a blockchain optimized for trading, with fully on-chain matching and sub-second settlement.

Aster, however, has gained visibility not by building new infrastructure but by capturing attention through narrative, exchange backing and incentives. Its rapid rise illustrates how token launches, partnerships and endorsements can shift market dynamics.

The road ahead

The report concludes that decentralized perpetual DEXs are evolving into a model where decentralization is treated as a feature rather than a foundation. With centralized exchanges capable of launching their own versions, competition is expected to increase.

Hyperliquid, once seen as untouchable, now faces an existential challenge. Its infrastructure remains strong, but the market increasingly rewards storytelling, ecosystem incentives and cultural resonance alongside technical performance.

Read more about Aster’s emergence, Hyperliquid’s position and the evolving landscape of decentralized perpetual exchanges in the Bybit Crypto Insights Report: The rise of decentralized perp DEXs: How Aster matches Hyperliquid.

The “Menstrual Equity Project” Launched in The Bahamas to Boost School Attendance for Girls

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, Sept. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — KuCoin, a leading global crypto platform built on trust, has recently advanced the Menstrual Equity Project in 2025 in The Bahamas. Jointly launched by KuCoin, the Global CSR Foundation, and the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), this initiative addresses menstrual health challenges in underserved communities.

Conceptualized in 2023 by Dr. Padmini Murthy, AMWA’s Global Health Lead and NGO Representative to the United Nations, and Ms. Jing Cesarone, Founder and CEO of the Global CSR Foundation, the project focuses on providing essential support. H.E. First Lady of The Bahamas, Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, personally spearheaded the distribution, delivering menstrual hygiene products donated by these global partners to local schools and communities.

“There are girls stay home from school while menstruating, as they cannot afford to buy their napkins,” said Mrs. Davis at the distribution event. “I couldn’t believe the great need for this product here in the Bahamas in underserved communities. I’m extremely grateful to my Global Partner, for her much-needed donation of sanitary pads.”

This effort is part of KuCoin’s broader commitment to social responsibility, made during the KuCoin Green Future Reception at COP28 in 2023. Since then, KuCoin has actively carried out various welfare initiatives. One of the flagship programs, the Menstrual Equity Project, launched its first distribution in March 2024, providing menstrual kits—including sanitary pads and menstrual cups—to beneficiaries in the Republic of Suriname, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and domestic violence shelters in New York.

Following these initial efforts, the project extended its reach to The Bahamas.

With support from the Office of The Spouse of The Prime Minister, KuCoin’s donations to The Bahamas mainly include disposable sanitary pads. KuCoin’s approach also considers local limitations in water resources and the high cost of cleaning reusable products. It also ensures women are better equipped during natural disasters such as hurricanes and tropical storms.

The objectives of KuCoin’s Menstrual Equity Project align closely with those of the Distribution of Feminine Pads Initiative led by the First Lady’s Office. Together, they aim to reduce absenteeism among schoolgirls caused by period poverty, while also fostering greater awareness and acceptance of menstrual health issues within the community.

“Your donation has made a tangible impact on the lives of those we support. The pads were distributed to Parliamentarians for inner city areas, NGOs, the girls penitentiary centre for girls, and many caretakers of young girls and battered women. The recipients were overjoyed and expressed the great need for these supplies, which are expensive. The distribution was great. These pads were significant in enabling the recipients to manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity.” Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, Spouse of The Prime Minister of The Bahamas, wrote a personal letter of thanks, “We are deeply thankful for your compassion and commitment to improving the lives of others. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to continuing our work together to empower and support our communities.”

KuCoin’s efforts in corporate social responsibility have been widely recognized in recent years. In March 2025, KuCoin was honored with the “2025 Corporate Social Responsibility Award” from the World Women Organization.

“The Menstrual Equity Project is not only about health and dignity—it’s about equity,” said Nancy Cheung, Chief Sustainability Officer at KuCoin. “We are committed to expanding this project globally, collaborating with more organizations to improve the living conditions of women and contribute to the well-being of women and children around the world.”

As KuCoin embarks on a new chapter of global compliance and sustained growth in 2025, initiatives like the Menstrual Equity Project are becoming vital pillars of its long-term sustainability strategy—fortifying the platform’s social value moat and setting a new benchmark for responsible innovation in the crypto industry.

xLean TR1 Wraps Up IFA 2025 With Major Innovation Wins

Live demos showcased TR1’s one-second transition from autonomous robot to handheld drew sustained interest from dealers, trade press, and consumers. Visitors praised the design as intuitive and genuinely practical for real-world messes from large spills and liquid-solid mixtures to quick spot cleaning in kitchens and living areas. The detachable, bi-directional powered handle delivers a lightweight handheld experience and reduces user fatigue during spot cleaning work.

Engineered for everyday use, TR1 combines advanced perception with an all-new cleaning mechanism. Multi-sensor fusion and Reinforcement Learning algorithm steer its compact square chassis through tight spaces, while 800-RPM dual rollers and the Dual-Motor DirectSuction™ cleaning system clear solids and liquids in a single pass. xLean’s VortexMatrix™ separation technology achieves separation of water and high-speed airflow, prevents clogs without bulky hardware. The Smart OMNI Station automates liquid-solid waste separation, runs a 60°C hot-water flush, and air-dries components to minimize maintenance.

Beyond hardware, xLean TR1 is also built with Reinforcement Learning with human feedback (RLHF) enables the robot to learn household patterns and optimize cleaning behavior while keeping user privacy as a core design principle. That combination of hardware reliability and adaptive intelligence positioned TR1 as an outstanding floor robot cleaners at the IFA show.

“Seeing so many attendees test the xLean TR1 and praise its dual-form flexibility and effortless handheld use was incredibly encouraging”, said Kehan Xue, Founder & CEO of xLean Robotics. “The awards and booth response reinforce our mission to build privacy-first, continuously evolving robots that tackle the messy realities of daily life.”

xLean also received a “Best of Kickstarter” badge at IFA. Throwback to a Bold Kickoff of Spanish Culinary Adventures
Earlier this month, the ESDS 2025 campaign kicked off with two signature events that spotlighted key partners and showcased the rich gastronomic adventures of Spanish cuisine.

Spanish Wine Dinner with Tres Monos
On 12 September, a five-course dinner paired with a range of exquisite Spanish wines brought in by Tres Monos was held at the Astor Grill at The St. Regis Singapore. Attended by over 40 guests, this marked the successful start of a series of activities and experiences for ESDS 2025. Guided by TRES MONOS, the evening was a night of indulgence and discovery – the true taste of Spanish joie de vivre (joy of living).

Galician Day at AT-SUNRICE GLOBALCHEF ACADEMY
For one day only, on 13 September 2025 from 12pm to 5.00pm, ESDS 2025 hosted the fully-sold out Galician Day ($78 per person) at AT-Sunrice Globalchef Academy. Guests had the rare chance to savour the rich flavours and coastal charm of this under explored region in Spain.

Known for its rugged Atlantic coast, lush green hills, and deep-rooted food traditions, Galicia offers a cuisine of culinary hidden gems that marry land and sea in soulful harmony – wholeheartedly brought to life by award-winning Michelin star Chef Miguel F. Vidal, himself a son of A Coruña, a coastal town in Galicia. Joined by Chef Javier “Taky” Rodríguez Ponte, they delighted guests with dishes in a Galician Discovery Menu, followed by an exclusive Authentic Galician Empanada Cooking Class by Chef Miguel himself, and a Wine Masterclass by sommelier Zachary Tay.

There was also a Produce Market running concurrently from 12pm to 5pm at the venue, where visitors could taste and purchase limited quantities of Spanish wines and cava from local grocers such as Tres Monos and Ecolah.

Jamon Iberico Night at Nómada
On 19 September 2025, guests prepared their palates for an extraordinary evening of Spanish indulgence of Noche de Jamón at Nómada, a one-night-only celebration of the world’s finest cured ham at Singapore’s destination for bold, globally inspired Spanish cuisine.

In collaboration with El Olivo x FISAN x Nómada, the evening showcased the hand-carved, award-winning 100% acorn-fed Ibérico Ham from FISAN’s Alta Gastronomía collection. This rare delicacy, sourced from the oak-filled dehesas of Spain, comes from free-range Iberian pigs that feast exclusively on acorns during the Montanera season (mid-October to the end of March). Guests savoured its unparalleled depth, complexity, and melt-in-the-mouth texture — a ham aged for up to 60 months in FISAN’s natural drying rooms and cellars.

The celebration was further elevated with specially crafted dishes, including the crowd-favourite Croquetas de Jamón Ibérico – golden, creamy bites of indulgence that perfectly complemented the evening of Spanish gastronomy.

Eat Spain Drink Spain 2025 Spanish Fair
On 22 September 2025, business owners and industry professionals gathered for Spain On The Menu, a B2B Spanish produce showcase and olive oil tasting session, hosted at Pura Brasa from 3 to 5pm.

The event brought together Spanish importers and influential HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Café/Catering) and retail professionals in a dynamic culinary networking format. A professional olive oil tasting, led by a local taster educated in Spain and now an olive oil producer in New Zealand, guided participants through tasting techniques, sensory profiles, production methods, and culinary applications of premium Spanish olive oils..

The session successfully connected industry professionals with authentic Spanish products while highlighting innovative applications for the Singapore market.

In partnership with Tencent Sustainable Social Value (SSV), the event centered on creating practical AI solutions for biodiversity preservation and mental health support. The competition featured three tracks: AI Coding, AI Agent, and an International Category, attracting teams from prestigious institutions including City University of Hong Kong, Peking University, and Tsinghua University, alongside international developers from Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand, competing for prizes in each category, with a top award of up to $10,000 USD.

Tencent Cloud’s AI Developer Tools Enable Rapid Innovation

The 48-hour Tencent Cloud Hackathon was powered by cutting-edge tools including Tencent CodeBuddy, Tencent Cloud Agent Development Platform (TCADP) and Tencent Cloud EdgeOne.

CodeBuddy served as an “AI Full-Stack Engineer,” offering conversational programming support across the entire development workflow. As the first AI coding tool to support plugin, IDE, and CLI formats, it significantly streamlined coding processes and improved efficiency.

TCADP provided a low-code/no-code toolchain that allowed rapid implementation of advanced AI capabilities such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), multi-agent collaboration, and automated workflows. Its open Model Context Protocol (MCP) plugin library further empowered participants to build sophisticated AI agents quickly.

For web-based applications and games, Tencent Cloud EdgeOne delivered secure, high-performance global deployment using its integrated content delivery network (CDN), security protections, and edge computing functions – ensuring low latency and a smooth user experience worldwide.

Winning innovations and the goal to build the next generation of AI talent

The first prize for the International Category was awarded to EchoQuest team, a team from Hong Kong, for their Poke Planet game. This innovative game transforms environmental restoration activities into engaging gameplay, converting conservation achievements into educational content and public welfare benefits.

Another Hong Kong team, NightC0de, received third prize in the AI Coding Category for Eco Genesis– an immersive simulation game that raises ecological awareness through interactive species collection and ecosystem exploration.

Coinciding with the Summit, Tencent also launched the “University AI Engagement” initiative, which aims to empower the next generation of developers through hands-on AI competitions like the Tencent Cloud Hackathon. This effort is part of Tencent’s broader commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing practical skills, and encouraging the application of AI for social good.
