MET Group’s tremendous growth over the past years enables the company to make a significant change in its leadership with the aim to further boost business performance, rapidly extend its customer base and accelerate expansion plans.

MET Group is delighted to announce that Huibert Vigeveno, a top-tier energy industry leader, joins the company as GCEO after a distinguished 30-year career with energy major Shell.

Huibert brings extensive experience in leading large, complex and global organisations. Most recently, serving as a member of Shell’s global Executive Committee and as the group’s Director of Downstream, Renewables and Energy Solutions, where he drove a customer value proposition across a range of businesses and geographies and led an organisation of over 30,000 people. Previously, he served as the Executive Chairman of Shell in China and successfully led the integration of Shell’s USD53 billion acquisition of the BG Group, subsequently becoming its transition CEO. Huibert also recently joined the Board of KBR, a global technology and engineering solutions company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, as a non-executive director.

Benjamin Lakatos, controlling shareholder and current Group Chief Executive Officer of MET Group, will assume the position of Executive Chairman of the Holding Board of Directors, maintaining his majority shareholding, and will focus on driving long-term vision and growth.

“Huibert’s exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and operational expertise will drive MET’s future aspirations to new heights,” said Benjamin Lakatos. “I am confident that his appointment will enhance MET’s global position while staying true to our roots as an independent, entrepreneurial company.”

MET Group has also finalised the Heads of Agreement with Keppel Ltd.’s Infrastructure Division, together with a licensed LNG importer, for the long-term LNG cargo deliveries of 0.5mtpa. This deepens the partnership between MET and Keppel, who has 10% shareholding in MET. To be supplied from MET’s solid European import portfolio of LNG, this partnership will enhance the security of supply in Singapore.

MET has been active in spot and mid-term deliveries in the Pacific basin, with this HOA being the first long-term contract for MET in the Pacific. The deal secures the coverage of the expected increase in Keppel’s gas demand over the next years, whilst fitting with MET Group’s strategy of expanding its global LNG footprint.

The agreement further strengthens the partnership and synergies between Keppel and MET, aiming to expand and capture gas value chain opportunities in Singapore – and exploring opportunities beyond Singapore, benefiting from the rise of energy and power demand in Asia. LNG is a key element in ensuring supply security of energy markets, and MET Group is committed to growing LNG deliveries. In recent years, MET has built one of the most geographically diverse LNG import structures in Europe, with long-term regasification capacity bookings in Germany, Croatia and Spain. The company has imported LNG cargoes to several countries across the Mediterranean (Greece, Italy, Croatia, Spain), Northwest Europe (UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany) and the Nordic region (Finland).

In 2024, MET entered into a 10-year LNG agreement with Shell to purchase US LNG with the intent to continue growing its long-term LNG portfolio. Also, MET ordered its first LNG carrier, for delivery in 2027, after reaching a partnership agreement with Danish shipowner Celsius Group.

The LNG supply is conditional upon the signing of LNG Sales & Purchase Agreement and fulfilment of conditions precedent including regulatory approval.

YAS Insuretech and TADA Embark on a New Frontier for Safe Ride-Hailing in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Sept. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In the latest leap toward transforming urban mobility, TADA, Asia’s pioneering zero-commission ride-hailing platform, today unveiled its Hong Kong debut in partnership with YAS Insurtech, the region’s leader in embedded micro-insurance. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment: from now on, every TADA ride in Hong Kong will automatically come with real-time, journey-specific insurance coverage—no opt-in needed.

This embedded micro-insurance is designed to activate the instant a journey begins and remain active until the rider reaches their destination—effortless, invisible protection for riders. For Sean Kim, Group COO of MVLLABS and CEO of TADA, the launch goes beyond convenience: “Safety and trust define the rider experience,” he noted. “By seamlessly integrating YAS’s protection engine, every rider in Hong Kong can ride with the confidence that protection is there throughout the journey.”

TADA’s expansion comes at a time when the Asia-Pacific ride-hailing market is booming. In 2024, the region’s ride-hailing services market was estimated at approximately USD 44.06 billion, with projections showing an 11 percent compound annual growth rate through 2031—a clear indication of sustained expansion and opportunity. Global numbers are equally compelling: the ride-hailing industry is expected to grow from around USD 181.7 billion in 2025 to USD 441.2 billion by 2032, at a 13.5 percent CAGR.

With this Hong Kong launch, TADA aims to extend that footprint and reintroduce its user-centric mobility model to one of the region’s most dynamic urban ecosystems.

What distinguishes the Hong Kong offering is the seamless integration of TADA’s zero-commission model with YAS’s cutting-edge insurance infrastructure. TADA’s model, which eliminates driver commission fees, redistributes value—enabling drivers to retain more earnings while riders benefit from Transparent, fair fares. Meanwhile, YAS brings a blockchain-based, AI-powered insurance engine capable of issuing and settling policies in real time. The synergy promises not only enhanced safety, but also efficiency and trust across the ecosystem.

“This is not just protection—it’s an experience revolution,” said Andy Ann, Co-Founder and CEO of YAS. “We’re embedding insurance at the moment it’s needed, making it invisible yet indispensable. In Hong Kong, where trust is earned through action, this isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a new standard.”

Hong Kong’s markets have long been a proving ground for innovation. With its dense population, reliance on digital services, and evolving consumer expectations, the city provides the perfect environment for testing next-gen mobility solutions. For riders, that means they don’t just get from A to B—they ride with assurance. For drivers, it means fairer earnings and the backing of enhanced protection. And for the industry, it signals a shift: ride-hailing is evolving from a mere convenience into a platform for trust, transparency, and ecosystem value creation.

As Hong Kong’s commuters begin using TADA this month, they won’t just be stepping into a vehicle—they’ll be stepping into a future where every ride brings safety, equity, and innovation along for the journey.

SK hynix Begins Supplying Mobile NAND Solution ZUFS 4.1

  • Company achieves world-first mass production of high-performance NAND solution products and starts supplying them to the mobile market
  • The solution significantly improves sustained performance compared to conventional UFS, reducing app launch time by 45%; optimized for on-device AI and large-scale data processing
  • Company aims to strengthen its competitive edge in the AI memory sector through tailored solutions and strategic partnerships

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — SK hynix Inc. (or “the company”, www.skhynix.com) announced today that it has begun supplying its high-performance mobile NAND solution ZUFS 4.1 to customers, marking the world’s first mass production of this solution.

The solution’s adoption in the latest smartphones reinforces SK hynix’s technological excellence in the global market. ZUFS 4.1 will enhance smartphones’ powerful on-device AI capabilities, offering users an innovative experience.

SK hynix successfully completed the qualification process for the solution in June this year through close collaboration with customers. In July, the company began mass production and started supplying the product.

ZUFS, or Zoned UFS[1], is an extended specification of UFS[2] that applies Zoned Storage technology, which stores data in different zones based on its usage and characteristics.

[1] Zoned UFS (ZUFS): First introduced by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) in 2023 as an extended specification of UFS. Development of ZUFS 4.1, based on the JEDEC UFS 4.1 standard, was completed in 2025.

[2] Universal Flash Storage (UFS): A high-speed flash memory storage specification for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Since the launch of UFS 1.0 in 2011, the specification has evolved through versions 2.0 (2013), 2.1 (2016), 3.0 (2018), 3.1 (2020), 4.0 (2022), and 4.1 (2025), with each version significantly improving data transfer speed and power efficiency.

When installed in a smartphone, ZUFS 4.1 enhances the operation speed of the operating system (OS) and improves data management efficiency. As a result, it mitigates read performance degradation over extended use by more than four times compared to conventional UFS, enabling a 45% reduction in app launch times. Unlike conventional UFS which writes new data by overwriting existing data, ZUFS 4.1 writes data sequentially. This data storage method has resulted in a 47% reduction in AI app launch times.

These performance characteristics position ZUFS 4.1 as an optimal solution for today’s mobile environment, where on-device AI and large-scale data processing are essential.

In addition, SK hynix has significantly enhanced the error-handling capabilities of ZUFS 4.1 compared to version 4.0 developed in May 2024. By detecting errors with greater precision and clearly communicating the necessary corrective actions to the central processing unit, the latest solution is expected to significantly improve system reliability and recovery performance.

“ZUFS 4.1, which we have successfully begun to supply, is the first solution developed and mass-produced through collaboration aimed at optimizing Android OS and storage devices. Looking ahead, its applications are expected to expand,” said Justin Kim, President & Head of AI Infra at SK hynix.

“We will continue to supply NAND solutions that meet customer needs in a timely manner, while strengthening partnerships with global companies to strengthen our competitive edge in the AI memory sector.”

Metal Logic launches modular, scalable low emission smelting platform, with a site secured for first deployment in the Pilbara region

Steel is about to become cheaper and cleaner

MELBOURNE, Australia, Sept. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Low-emission steel platform Metal Logic has secured a strategic location in Western Australia’s iron ore–rich Pilbara region to deploy its ‘smelting as a service’ model.

The company will utilize its Australian-invented, modular and scalable array smelting technology at industrial scale with an initial array deployment of 1Mtpa then ramping up mass production from Melbourne.

The technology, invented and developed for commercialisation in Australia, enables the processing of lower-grade ores, extends mine life, and offers a cost advantage to local manufacturers—ushering in a new era of jobs and regional resilience.

Chief Executive Joel Nicholls confirmed that Metal Logic has secured land from a private entity within 20 kilometres of the key rail lines that transport more than half of the Pilbara’s iron ore to the coast for export.

“Metal Logic intends to deploy its modular, scalable array smelter at this location, delivering our ‘clean steel’ solution to the market,” Mr. Nicholls stated.

“Our platform allows treatment of lower-grade iron ore, enabling operations to continue below previous cut-off grades and unlocking previously stranded or care-and-maintenance deposits,” he explained.

“We are expanding our team and seeking people with the skills needed for our next deployment phase. Metal Logic is already evaluating stranded and care-and-maintenance iron ore resources to determine their suitability for our process. We need experts, from resource assessors to engineers, to help us scale our solution.”

Focusing on thermodynamic efficiency to minimize costs and lower emissions, Metal Logic’s technology is economically viable without requiring government subsidies.

“We aim to unlock previously stranded mineral resources and deliver value-added processing to regions, allowing taxpayer funds to be directed to other priorities such as education, health, and manufacturing,” said Mr Nicholls.

Mr. Nicholls added that Metal Logic has received strong backing from global steel and iron ore industry leaders, further validating the strategic importance of its new Pilbara site, located close to major rail and Port Hedland.

Unlocking a New Era in Steel and Resource Value Chains

For more than a century, steel production has relied on furnaces that waste up to half their input energy. Even modern blast furnaces and their “green” alternatives operate at only 25–65% of the thermodynamic ceiling of approximately 7.5 gigajoules per tonne of iron[1]. As a result, entrenched reliance on coal, coke, and outdated furnaces generates over 2.8 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions annually[2], while keeping steel prices high and locked into inefficient chemistry.

Metal Logic’s approach aims to reset the steel value chain by supporting two types of customers:

Resource owners with stranded assets:

The technology makes lower-grade ores economically feasible, extends mine life, and reduces environmental impact by processing deposits that would otherwise remain untapped. Locating smelters near these resources also minimizes shipping inefficiencies and keeps value creation local, potentially adding up to $400 USD in value per tonne of ore retained in Australia—creating jobs and new industries.

Steel buyers seeking traceability:

Metal Logic offers steel with traceability and verifiable CO2 footprints. Advanced electrochemical, photonic, and molecular-scale separation methods allow efficiency beyond traditional methods, reducing the need for bulk shipping of ore and waste.

The Purpose:

Australia has long exported raw ore and repurchased high-value manufactured goods. Metal Logic’s platform aims to “industrialize” resource-rich regions, extend mine life, reduce environmental footprints, and supply downstream industries with lower-cost, traceable steel. For miners, it unlocks marginal resources; for manufacturers and nations, it delivers affordable, cleaner steel at scale. For communities, it means jobs and resilience—not the loss seen with past industry closures.

By bringing miners and steel buyers together on a single platform, the company hopes to deliver environmental and economic benefits for all stakeholders.

About Metal Logic

Metal Logic operates research, development, laboratory, smelter development, and production facilities in Victoria, with offices in Perth and Melbourne. With its newly secured site near Port Hedland in the Pilbara, the company is advancing the commercialization of modular, scalable clean steel smelting technology that aims to provide steel at a lower cost than traditional black carbon methods.

Following these results, the system has been implemented across Teleport’s last-mile operations in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.

“As the operator of Southeast Asia’s largest asset-light air network, our mission is to always be faster, cheaper, and better. This demands a more efficient technology stack which allows us to be resilient, adapt to real-time volume changes, and scale without the need to increase manual effort,” says Milan Dhingra, Chief Product and Technology Officer in Teleport. “Shipsy’s expertise has been key to improving the resilience and accuracy of our last-mile operations. Our next phase is to roll this out to our first-mile operations for all markets except China, to replicate the same level of accuracy end-to-end.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Teleport. With the market projected to reach US$35.3 billion by 2027 (Mordor Intelligence), FIND – Design Fair Asia remains a vital gateway for global brands to navigate and tap into this dynamic region.

A perennial highlight at FIND – Design Fair Asia, the Italy Pavilion – once again supported by the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – will champion the artistry, heritage, and innovation of Made in Italy. From the refined craftsmanship of FAS Pendezza‘s iconic game tables and the bespoke outdoor elegance of Il Giardino di Legno, to Swan’s timeless upholstered furniture and Composit’s contemporary kitchens and interiors, Italy continues to set global standards in design excellence. Other brands featured in the Italian pavilion will showcase the country’s diversity – spanning luxury leather accessories, fabrics, artisanal bedding, decorative paints, and Venetian glass. Together, these exhibitors embody the enduring values of Italian design: tradition married with innovation, craftsmanship elevated by technology, and products that balance timeless aesthetics with global relevance.

The Thailand Pavilion brings together a dynamic mix of heritage, innovation, and sustainability that defines the country’s design identity today. Mobella showcases refined upholstery and home furnishings that blend comfort with international appeal, while PDM translates Thai culture into contemporary, globally resonant design. RES, the in-house brand of Kunakij Furniture Industry, highlights expertise in aluminium craftsmanship, and WASOO by Jarerntribhop pushes boundaries with sustainable creations made from rice straw and other bio-materials.

Maison Craft celebrates artisanal traditions by working with local communities and natural materials, while Dear Dome Group elevates interiors with high-quality flooring, skirting, and wall solutions. Adding a bold contemporary edge, Sculpture presents visionary “furniture of the future,” including the world-renowned Sexy Chair, while Bendi-Bangkok pioneers solid wood bending with sustainable practices and cross-cultural collaborations.

FIND – Design Fair Asia 2025 also brings together an extraordinary line-up of exhibitors from across the globe. The Singapore Pavilion showcases Arte, Arterra, AID, Raritag x CCD, Crown Décor, Deluxe Systems, Ferrara (Keuco), Geberit, Oppolia, Prospec Surfaces, Veranda, and Woodmark; while Indonesia presents Aluveen, Cellux, Earthsensial, Inchi Living, and TACO.

From the Czech Republic Pavilion come Hunat, mmcite, Pačinek Glass, Ravak, and Sans Souci, alongside collectives from Hong Kong (CSI Floorings, Common Ground, and UVO International Group), France (Casamance), Japan (Anonimo Design, Sanyei Corporation, and Takesada Shoten), and China (Bonas, JNJ Mosaic, Knights Craft, Raritag, and Shanghai Danilo) – a powerful showcase of global creativity converging in Singapore.

Design inspiration takes shape through a series of thoughtfully crafted showcases that blend heritage, innovation, and imagination. Italian brand Danilo, known for its artistic wall decoration materials gracing elegant residences, historic landmarks, and the boutiques of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, unveils a booth inspired by the forest’s layered ecosystem and the grandeur of the Roman Colosseum – an architectural focal point designed to draw visitors deeper into its world.

Showcasing over 20 brands, the Thailand Pavilion explores “Living Thai Space: The Power of Absence”, where contemporary Thainess emerges through stillness, balance, and spatial purity, inviting visitors to engage with design as mood, presence, and essence.

The Indonesia Pavilion celebrates the nation’s culture, innovation, and sustainability through nine exhibitors, featuring cutting-edge materials and local SMEs. Anchored in the “Embracing the Earth Society” concept, it showcases visionary brands and talents, reflecting Indonesia’s progressive presence on the global design stage.

Wallcovering specialist Arte, celebrated globally for its craftsmanship, creativity, and luxurious materials, introduces a stand conceived as a natural oasis, where organic forms, green accents, and designer furnishings create a refined yet welcoming setting that encourages discovery and dialogue.

Completing this constellation of immersive environments, the FIND – Global Summit theatre, designed by award-winning studio A Life by Design, draws from the Nation of Design theme with a bold yet sophisticated palette of Singaporean red balanced with seasonal tones, futuristic portals, and over 1,000 metres of finely detailed fabric. This layered and immersive installation, framed by ombré string screens from Anonimo, is further elevated with seating by Events Partners and carpet and furniture by Mill, crafted from recycled materials – positioning Singapore at the forefront of global design dialogue while offering a space that is both symbolic and transformative.

FIND – Global Summit assembles over 80 speakers from 23 countries for three days of high-level dialogue on design, architecture, and business, tackling themes from urban resilience and AI innovation to purposeful luxury and cultural identity. Headline names include Mario Cucinella on Creative Empathy; Simon Yu of Zaha Hadid Architects on Urban Transformation: Architecture as a Catalyst for Change; Hossein Rezai-Jorabi of Ramboll on One Past, Many Futures, Multiple Presents; and Keiji Ashizawa on Layering Volumes: A Holistic Approach to Space and Object.

They are joined by Angela Spathonis of Gensler, Shumin Zheng of SOM, and Erin Juhl of EDG Design, bringing critical female perspectives on how design can address today’s most pressing social, cultural, and environmental challenges. Among the diverse sessions, highlights include contributions from the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) on how lighting shapes identity and human connection; the Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA) on cultural heritage as a catalyst for tech-driven sustainability; and the Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS), which explores closing the gap between design education and industry practice. In support of the local professional community, all Summit sessions are coupled with complimentary SIDAC CPD points, enabling practitioners to gain up to six points across the three-day programme.

EMERGE @ FIND returns this September with its most expansive edition yet, growing beyond Southeast Asia into a Pan-Asian showcase. Presented by DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) and supported by FIND – Design Fair Asia, the platform introduces Edwin Low, founder of Singapore brand SUPERMAMA, as its first Singaporean co-curator alongside Suzy Annetta.
