Encountering Naadam, Experiencing the 35th Grassland Carnival of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

XILINGOL LEAGUE, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 22 July 2025 – Mid-summer breathes life into Inner Mongolia’s grassland, where lush pastures glisten after seasonal rains, nourishing herds beneath vast blue skies. Against this vibrant backdrop, the 35th Naadam Fair of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region unfolds.

As popular Inner Mongolian ballads blend with spirited dances and the haunting melodies of the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), the vast grassland of Xilingol transform into a living stage. A procession of 1,200 horsemen bearing the national flag, followed by 512 Inner Mongolian wrestlers advancing with eagle-like poise, ignites the festival spirit, turning the grassland into a joyful paradise of melodious songs and folk dances.
“Naadam”, a Mongolian word for “games” or “recreation”, is a traditional festival in Inner Mongolia. The competitions of Mongolian wrestling, horsemanship, and archery, known as “three manly skills”, are rather spectacular and the most popular with local people.
Wu Enqi, deputy director of the Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio, and Television Bureau of East Ujimqin Banner, explained that Mongolian wrestling, horsemanship, and archery were essential skills for ancient Mongolian men to master during their upbringing. These skills once vital for survival on the battlefield have become fixed events at the Naadam Fair in the era of peace, which are still liked by many people to this day.
Traveling from Suzhou to witness the spectacle of Naadam, visitor Lei Jie shared, “Every moment in Xilingol felt magical, but nothing matched the visual impact when masculine Inner Mongolian wrestlers stepped into the arena at the Naadam Fair.”
Bökh (Mongolian wrestling) means “sturdiness, solidarity and persistence” in Mongolian. Victorious wrestlers wear Jiangga, a rainbow-hued silk neckpiece, the strands of which record their triumphs. The more strands there are on a piece of Jiangga, the more victories it represents.
Sun Haitao, a cultural researcher in Xilingol League, stated that Naadam holds a significant and far-reaching influence in the hearts of the people across the grassland, akin to the “Olympics”. In recent years, Naadam has been enriching its content with the development of the times, evolving from undiversified festive activities into a comprehensive cultural tourism IP that integrates cultural experiences, sports competitions, and industrial development, constantly infusing Naadam with new vitality.
Furthermore, this Naadam Fair has elaborately planned 18 characteristic zones, featuring both traditional Mongolian cultural displays such as the “Three Manly Skills” competitions and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, as well as innovative modern experiences like grassland photography in folk costumes and family camping. Visitors can not only watch captivating performances but also join activities such as horseback riding and stamp collection, experiencing the unique charm of grassland culture through interaction.

7th HK Digital Advertising Start-ups X Publishing (Writers) Promotion Support Scheme Digital Advertising Design (for Publishing) Awards Ceremony and Sharing Session by Awardees Annual Cross-Sector Event Nurturing Local Digital Advertising Talent
HONG KONG, July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Organised by the Hong Kong Association of Interactive Marketing (“AIM”) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (“CCIDA”), the Hong Kong Digital Advertising Start-ups X Publishing (Writers) Promotion Support Scheme (the “Support Scheme”) was launched in 2018. With robust support from the industry, the Support Scheme has now entered its seventh edition, continuing its mission to nurture local digital advertising start-ups. By providing funding and professional training, the Support Scheme empowers these start-ups to create tailor-made digital advertising campaigns that promote emerging local writers. The Support Scheme assists local digital advertising start-ups in implementing digital advertising campaigns to promote local emerging writers and their designated books, gaining practical experience in the process. Simultaneously, it provides valuable exposure to digital promotion for local emerging writers and their publishers, fostering greater cross-sectoral collaboration and advancing the reading culture among the public.
Group photo of officiating guests, attending guests, representatives of supporting organizations, project mentors and all participating groups
This year, 12 teams were selected for the Support Scheme. To recognise their outstanding creative work, the AIM held the Digital Advertising Design (for Publishing) Awards Ceremony and Sharing Session today. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Alex So, Head (Multi-media) of the CCIDA, as the Guest of Honour. He was joined by Mr. Stanley Chow, Vice Chairman of AIM, and Mr. William So, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Publishing Federation, to present the awards to the winning teams.
Mr. Alex So, Head (Multi-media) of the CCIDA, congratulated the awardees and commended AIM for the successful organisation of this year’s scheme. He also extended his appreciation to the Hong Kong Publishing Federation, the Hong Kong Publishing Professionals Society (HKPPS), the jury panel, and professional mentors for their steadfast support.
Mr. Stanley Chow, Vice Chairman of AIM, congratulated all the winning teams. He also expressed his gratitude to CCIDA for its continued sponsorship of the support scheme, as well as the ongoing support from the publishing sector. He remarked, “Now in its seventh year, the Support Scheme has become a flagship cross-sector event for both Hong Kong’s digital advertising and publishing sectors, significantly promoting collaboration and development between the two. Each edition, participating start-up digital advertising companies impressed us with their creativity, producing memorable campaigns for the paired emerging authors and their books. This year’s campaigns were particularly outstanding and received unanimous praise from the judging panel.”
Each of the 12 participating teams consisted of a local digital advertising start-up, established within the past five years, paired with one unit of local writer whose debut work was published within the last six years. During the approximately three-month programme, the digital advertising teams created bespoke promotional campaigns for their paired authors and designated books. Each start-up received up to HK$260,000 in funding, alongside professional mentorship and training seminars designed to enhance creativity and elevate the overall quality of digital advertising in Hong Kong.
The 12 campaigns reached nearly 13.6 million views, with 1.33 million engagements and close to 12.61 million views. These impressive metrics demonstrate the campaigns’ ability to capture public attention with relatable and creative content, effectively delivering the books’ messages to their intended audiences while fostering deeper interaction between readers and authors.
To enable more readers to experience these campaigns, the Support Scheme has set up a dedicated booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2025 from July 16 – 22, showcasing all 12 teams’ campaigns alongside their corresponding publications.
At Digital Advertising Design (for Publishing) Awards Ceremony, the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards of the Digital Advertising Design (for Publishing) with awardees selected by the professional jury were given out. The “My Favourite Digital Advertising Design (for Publishing) Award”, winner of which was voted by the public from June 1 – 26, was also presented on the same occasion.

BEIJING, July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — JA Solar, a global leader in the photovoltaic (PV) industry, was selected to supply one gigawatt (GW) of high-efficiency DeepBlue 4.0 Pro PV modules for the Banka and Bilasuvar solar power projects in Azerbaijan being developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy leader.
The Banka and Bilasuvar projects are the largest utility-scale solar developments in Azerbaijan. Once operational, they are expected to generate approximately 1.53 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, avoiding carbon dioxide emissions of approximately 1.15 million tons each year. The initiative will significantly contribute to Azerbaijan’s efforts to diversify its energy mix and advance its renewable energy goals.
JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules are engineered to perform in challenging coastal environments, characterized by high humidity, salinity, strong winds, and airborne dust. Designed to adjust to diverse environments, the modules offer excellent resistance to corrosion and extreme weather, ensuring long-term durability, stable output, and improved system performance. These features collectively help reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and maximize energy yield.
In addition to technological innovation, JA Solar is committed to sustainability across its global operations. The company upholds rigorous supply chain governance aligned with international best practices and sustainability disclosure standards. Through active collaboration with organizations such as the IFRS Foundation, JA Solar is enhancing transparency, accountability, and responsible sourcing.

APEC 2025 Seminar on Promoting Green Jobs and Resilient Development by Enhancing the Capacity Building of Sustainable Entrepreneurs
Beijing, 16–17 July 2025
BEIJING, July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — APEC seminar on “Promoting Green Jobs and Resilient Development by Enhancing the Capacity Building of Sustainable Entrepreneurs” was held on 16 – 17 July 2025, at Tsinghua Science Park, Beijing, China. Organized jointly by National Entrepreneurship Research Center, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University and Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd., the event convened government officials, scholars and industry experts from 14 APEC economies, including Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, United States, and etc., to share best practices and explore the effective pathways for promoting sustainable entrepreneurship across the APEC region.
Opening Remarks
Mr. Jiang Wei, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department in Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, stressed that green jobs and sustainable entrepreneurship are critical levers for high-quality employment and economy-wide green transition. He outlined China’s three-pronged approach: (1) embedding “dual-carbon” goals in national strategy and green-growth frameworks; (2) reskilling and redeploying workers in traditional sectors such as coal through retraining grants, severance top-ups and green-industry funds; and (3) integrating 134 green occupations into the national occupational classification—more than 8 % of the total—while scaling up green-skills training nationwide.
Mr. KIM Minkyu, representative of 2025 APEC presidency of Korea,Labor Attaché Counsellor in Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, highlighted sustainable entrepreneurship as essential for inclusive and resilient growth and the effort of Korea as 2025 presidency to deepen APEC collaboration on green-job creation amid geopolitical uncertainties.
Mr. Wang Jiwu, Chairman of TusHoldings Co., Ltd. reiterated the company’s commitment to leveraging Tsinghua Science Park as a global innovation hub and to sharing resources and experience with APEC members to accelerate technological upgrading worldwide.
Prof. GAO Jian, Director of National Entrepreneurship Research Center, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, noted that this was the first APEC meeting dedicated to capacity building of sustainable entrepreneurs. He emphasized youth as the primary entrepreneurial force and called for continued improvement of inclusive, resilient entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Keynote Speech
Prof. Donna Kelley, Frederic C. Hamilton Chair of Free Enterprise in Babson College, and head of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor team in USA, demonstrated through cross-economies indices that GDP level does not automatically translate into superior social and environmental performance. GEM data reveal that more than three quarters of entrepreneurs in China and Thailand already take SDG-oriented actions. This figure stands in a contrast with several high-income economies, which reflects the difference of regional incentives mechanism and culture background.
Mr. Chen Hongbo, Executive Senior Vice President of TusHoldings Co., Ltd., President of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), introduced Tus-Holdings'”Four Step Theory” for building sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems, which is resource gathering, integration and cooperation, prioritizing target areas, and generating innovative outcome.
Mr. Mou Rui, on behalf of National Entrepreneurship Research Center, launched the report “The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Capacity Building of Sustainable Entrepreneurship in APEC Economies”. Based on surveys and policy reviews across 16 APEC economies, four recommendations are proposed in the report as: (1) an APEC Sustainable Entrepreneurship Platform for policy learning and industry cooperation; (2) dedicated financing facilities; (3) an APEC Sustainable Entrepreneurship Academy for scaled-up, quality training; and (4) enhanced policy coordination, evaluation and data sharing.
Panel discussions
The Seminar includes four session with following topics:
1. Creating More Green Jobs – Policies and Scaling Strategies for Green Tech Startups
2. Skills Upgrading for Entrepreneurship and Employment in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
3. Enhancing the Resilience of Startups through Digital and Green Transition
4. Challenges and Opportunities for Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities in the Digital and Green Transition
Characterized by broad representation and a diverse range of participants, the seminar set up a multi-level, cross-sector platform for international cooperation and exchange. China’s innovative practices in green entrepreneurship and green employment, together with Chinese entrepreneurs’ proactive efforts to align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, offered all APEC economies the valuable insights on how to turning sustainable development from vision into action.
