LISLE, UNITED STATES Media OutReach Newswire – 8 May 2024 – Molex, a global electronics leader and connectivity innovator, continues to build on its automotive industry expertise with the introduction of its MX-DaSH family of data-signal hybrid connectors that unify power, signal and high-speed data connectivity in a single connector system. These innovative wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connectors are designed to support the transition to zonal architecture and address the full range of emerging applications requiring reliable data transmission. These include autonomous driving modules, camera systems, GPS and infotainment devices, LiDAR, high-resolution displays, sensor-device connectivity and more.

Molex Combines High-Speed Data, Signal and Power in MX-DaSH Data-Signal Hybrid Connector Portfolio to Optimize Next-Gen Automotive Architectures

“The complete MX-DaSH portfolio enables automotive designers to reimagine vehicle electronics by integrating power and high-speed data transmissions within a single connector system to achieve major savings in size, space, cost and labor,” said Greg Everly, director, new product introduction for Molex, Transportation Innovative Solutions (TIS). “Our holistic approach lets designers mix and match different types of terminals, offering greater freedom and flexibility to support zonal architectures and simplify wiring harnesses.”

Optimizing Innovative Automotive Designs

MX-DaSH connectors are available with sealed and unsealed options to optimize next-gen automotive architectures with assorted environmental and design requirements. Versatile configurations support different power and signal terminal sizes, such as 0.50, 0.64, 1.20, 1.50, 2.80 or 4.80mm, as well as high-speed FAKRA Mini (HFM®) modules for high-speed data transmission.

To ensure heightened reliability, MX-DaSH wire-to-wire connectors feature industry-leading male blade stabilization and independent secondary locks for robust and reliable terminal mating. Moreover, MX-DaSH empowers automotive engineers to accommodate a growing mix of devices and sensors with different network requirements by offering modular sections or cartridges in the wire to board option that support various interfaces without changing form factors or footprints.

Reducing Cost and Complexity

With the new MX-DaSH family, automotive OEMs and their suppliers can better meet escalating demands for more compact, hybrid connectivity to support a multitude of automotive applications. For example, MX-DaSH makes it possible to reduce the number of inline, wire-to-board connectors for an instrument panel and body control harness from eight to two while removing up to six meters of copper wiring, depending on the specific vehicle model.

Multiple options in this connector system encompass a variety of wire-to-wire applications. For instance, the 31+1-Way connector system combines 31 power and ground circuits, as well as a high-speed data connection, to decrease packaging requirements by up to 30%. With more functionality built into every MX-DaSH connector, considerable time savings can be realized through streamlined harness installations. Fewer component requirements also offer increased opportunities to further reduce BOMs.

Additionally, MX-DaSH connectors have been designed for automated harness assembly to decrease cycle times and elevate overall manufacturing process efficiency and quality.

Product Availability

MX-DaSH connectors have been validated in accordance with global industry standards groups, including USCAR, Peugeot and IEC, to ensure reliable performance under the harshest automotive environmental conditions. MX-DaSH wire-to-wire connector models are available, along with select wire-to-board models and custom configurations. A continued expansion of the product family is underway to help customers keep pace with evolving vehicle connectivity needs.

Aleyda Mobile Spa Launches Project MIM: Empowering Migrant Workers to Overcome Musculoskeletal Pain

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 May 2024 – In honour of Labour Day, Aleyda Mobile Spa, a business that has been providing holistic home-based and corporate massage since 2010, is pleased to announce its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative – MigrantsInMind (MIM). Recognising the pressing issue of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) among migrant workers in Singapore, MIM aims to empower them to manage and prevent aches and pains.

Empowering Migrant Workers for Enhanced Health and Wellbeing
As of 2023, there are as many as 286,300 female migrant domestic workers and 441,100 male migrant non-domestic workers employed in labour-intensive work in Singapore. According to the Ministry of Manpower, from 2019 to 2021, WRMSDs made up 60% of all confirmed occupational disease cases. Among these, back injuries caused by ergonomic risks were the most common. The lack of access to proper therapeutic care exacerbates the pain and discomfort experienced by these workers. Recognising that they are unable to afford its home-based massage services, Aleyda Mobile Spa addresses this gap by providing training on ergonomics, self-massage and functional exercise geared towards aiding workers in their recovery and pain management.
The workers will receive customised training on proper material handling, self-massage techniques to ease aches and pains, and functional exercise to meet specific work demands. Additionally, participants will be given a free massage tool to facilitate their continued self-care journey beyond the workshops.
Harnessing Expertise for Meaningful Social Impact
Aleyda has been committed to workplace wellness for over a decade. The company recently started MIM to promote health and well-being among the migrant worker community in Singapore. Offering practical training in ergonomics, self-massage techniques, and corrective exercises, the workshops include body-massage fundamentals that are easy to learn and apply, even in a work setting or at home.
Additionally, the skills-based approach employed by Aleyda involves strategically matching the team’s proficiency in ergonomics, massage therapy and functional exercise with the specific needs of migrant workers. This ensures that its efforts are not only impactful but also sustainable in the long term.
Building Sustainable Change Through Collaboration
Aleyda Mobile Spa has established partnerships with prominent non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community groups to make an impact with MIM. Two of these NGOs are ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR) and Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME). ItsRainingRaincoats is a Singapore charity that aims to build bridges of integration between migrant workers and residents of Singapore. It works to improve the welfare of migrant workers and believes that their seamless integration into our community will benefit not just our migrant workers but Singapore as a whole. Meanwhile, the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME) provides critical and long-term assistance to migrant workers, and runs a shelter for migrant domestic workers seeking temporary refuge. These collaborations enable Aleyda Mobile Spa to conduct effective workshops and provide vital support services to workers in the areas where they are most needed.
The Impact and Benefits of MigrantsInMind
MIM has the potential to bring significant benefits not only to Aleyda but also to the wider community. For Aleyda, the initiative provides the team with opportunities for professional growth and fulfilment, while also cementing the company’s standing as a socially responsible organisation committed to making a positive impact. For migrant workers, MIM offers a pathway to improved health outcomes, increased productivity, and a greater sense of well-being.
“We are excited about MIM’s potential to bring about positive change in the lives of migrant workers and our community as a whole,” shared Salinah Aliman, co-founder and director at Aleyda. “By raising awareness and providing support, we envision a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone’s well-being is valued.”
Join Aleyda Mobile Spa in Making a Difference
Aleyda is inviting individuals and organisations to support MIM in its mission to empower Singapore’s migrant workers. Interested parties can participate by contributing their skills through volunteering, serving as workshop facilitators or translators, sponsoring massage tools, or advocating for the cause through social media by tagging their posts with the hashtag #MigrantsInMind. It is hoped that the initiative would inspire professionals with expertise in pertinent areas such as massage therapy, ergonomics, chiropractic, and physical therapy to lend their skills in a similar manner.

Octa’s research: external factors weigh on Bank Negara Malaysia

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) will meet on 8 – 9 May to decide on monetary policy. Octa’s experts expect the interest rate to remain at 3.00%. Read for more details.

  • Bank Negara Malaysia will likely keep the overnight policy interest rate stable at 3.00% at the next monetary policy meeting on 8 – 9 May.
  • Investors’ expectations for the tight U.S. monetary policy mainly influenced domestic financial markets.
  • According to the central bank’s report on Monetary and Financial Developments published on 30 April 2024, the Malaysian economy is stable. This is reflected in a moderate decline in inflation amid rising consumer activity and growth in business lending.
  • If the Monetary Policy Committee leaves the rate unchanged, the USDMYR might decline to 4.6500–4.7000 in the short term.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 May 2024 – The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) will meet on 8 – 9 May to decide on monetary policy. Based on a combination of internal and external factors, BNM is expected to keep the interest rate unchanged at 3.00%.

The U.S. Federal Reserve’s monetary policy significantly impacts emerging markets, including Malaysia, which mainly benefits from its rate cuts. In its latest policy decision, the Fed kept the interest rates unchanged at 5.25–5.50%, leaving them at twenty-three-year highs and dispelling expectations of an overnight policy rate (OPR) change by the Bank Negara Malaysia.

Turning to domestic factors, Malaysia is doing quite well. Thus, according to the Monetary and Financial Developments report published on 30 April 2024 by the BNM, the noteworthy economic indicators of the country are the following:

  • headline inflation remained stable at 1.8% in March (1.8% in February), while core inflation moderated to 1.7% (1.8% in February)
  • the Index of Wholesale and Retail Trade (IOWRT) increased by 3.9% in February 2024 (3.5% in January)
  • outstanding business loan growth has increased by 4.9% in March (4.8% in February)
  • the banking system remains well-capitalised, supporting economic growth.

‘Thus, we see positive domestic factors being held back by external factors—domestic financial markets were mostly influenced by global investors’ expectations for the U.S. policy rate to be high for longer’, said Kar Yong Ang, the Octa broker financial markets analyst.
The chances of keeping the key rate unchanged are high, which, on the one hand, gives additional weight to the Malay ringgit, but on the other hand, in the context of a strong dollar, may lead to curbing the growth of the ringgit—and USDMYR may moderate in the short term to the level of 4.6500–4.7000.
