Teledyne e2v Enables Cutting-Edge Many-Core Processors to Meet Aerospace Challenges

GRENOBLE, FRANCE – Media OutReach – 15 April 2021 – To satisfy demands from customers in the avionics and space sectors, Teledyne e2v is now in a unique position to supply fully-qualified QorIQ® T4240 processors with tin-lead (SnPb) finishing.

The multi-core T4240 units are able to address extremely compute-intensive application scenarios. Comprising up to 12 dual-threaded PowerArchitecture® cores (24 virtual cores) and attaining frequencies of 1.8GHz, these devices deliver elevated levels of performance while taking up only minimal board space. They feature an extensive range of I/O options – including 10Gbit Ethernet, 1Gbit Ethernet, PCIe, USB, SATA, RapidIO, etc. Thanks to the data path acceleration logic embedded into each T4240, packet classification and processing efficiencies can be boosted significantly. Operational temperatures spanning from -55°C to 125°C are supported.

In addition to the characterisation, screening and qualification of these devices for high-reliability environments (to check they have the necessary robustness, longevity and performance attributes), Teledyne e2v is also supplying the T4240 with a Sn-Pb ball option. This will prove a major advantage in application areas that are not subject to RoHS regulations. Thanks to a testing environment that is identical to original manufacturer NXP, with the same test equipment, test quality and coverage, the integrity of these reliability-augmented processors is fully assured in both Sn-Pb and lead-free options.

Power consumption is another key aspect that needs to be dealt with, in particular for compute-intensive and resource-constrained applications. Here Teledyne e2v engineers will enter into in-depth consultation with the customer concerning their specific application. From this, the power budget requirements (in relation to both static and dynamic power) can be fully understood.

As Thomas Guillemain, Marketing & Business Development Manager at Teledyne e2v Semiconductors, explains, “Teledyne e2v is in a unique position to provide the T4240 to Aerospace customers in both Sn-Pb and lead-free options. Qualifying this component after Sn-Pb reballing has proved a major challenge, due to the huge size of the package and the number of balls involved. Our comprehensive qualification steps and inspection procedures have shown that going beyond a standard deballing/reballing process is required to maintain full integrity. Thanks to the measures that we have implemented specifically for this component, it is now qualified and available with the highest level of quality and reliability. This differentiates us from competing operations, as we can offer a far superior end product.”

About Teledyne e2v Semiconductors:

Teledyne e2v offers high-performance, ultra-reliable semiconductor solutions addressing critical functions across the entire signal chain – covering data converters, interface ICs, microprocessors, analog switches, voltage references, digitizers, logic, memory and RF devices. Serving the avionics, industrial, medical, military, scientific and space sectors, the company is recognized as a world leader in the re-engineering and up-screening commercial technologies to deal with the most demanding of application scenarios.

Many of Teledyne e2v’s products are developed through strategic partnerships with leading semiconductor vendors – such as NXP, Everspin and Micron. By working closely with its global client base, the company is able to provide an expansive array of innovative solutions. These span all the way from standard and semi-custom through to fully customized options.

GBG Recognised as Enterprise Fraud Category Leader in Chartis’ RiskTech Quadrant® 2021

Research and advisory firm, Chartis, classifies GBG as a Category Leader with strong market potential and completeness of offering for enterprise fraud solutions among a broad array of global enterprise fraud solutions providers

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 15 April 2021 – GBG (AIM:GBG), the global technology specialist in fraud and compliance management, identity verification and location data intelligence, has been recognised by Chartis as a Category Leader in their latest RiskTech Quadrant® for enterprise fraud solutions, 2021.

The Chartis report, “Financial Crime Risk Management Systems: Enterprise Fraud”, provides a market update and vendor landscape analysis for 2021. It highlights specific factors and attitudes unique to each region in digital and cash transactions that are impacting financial institutions (FIs), and that need to be taken into consideration when making enterprise fraud investments. For instance, e-payments in emerging markets, such as India and China have increased significantly by as much as 700% since 2012, while Malaysia and Indonesia continue to be heavily dependent on cash payments.

Throughout the last year, the COVID-19 pandemic has driven a surge in identity crimes on mobile channels, synthetic identity fraud, and bot attacks, and catapulted financial inclusion initiatives, propelling FIs to extend financial services to ‘unbanked’ populations. As the world’s fastest growing non-cash transaction market, coupled with the growing need to access new-to-bank consumers, Asia Pacific has experienced spikes in criminal and fraudulent behaviour in the last year. This shift in the fraud landscape calls for stronger readiness among FIs in local data intelligence, analytics capabilities and having KYC and authentication integrated as a single customer journey.

With fraud remaining a key challenge for FIs across Asia Pacific, GBG’s solutions were rated as having ‘Advanced Capabilities’ in ‘Advanced/proprietary fraud-detection techniques’ and ‘Case management and workflow’.

As a Category Leader for enterprise fraud, GBG was recognised for combining depth and breadth of functionality, technology and content with the required organisational characteristics to capture significant market share, and for demonstrating a clear strategy for sustainable and profitable growth, matched with best-in-class solutions.

Together with the enterprise fraud category leader recognition, GBG has now been classified by Chartis as a category leader across three of the RiskTech Quadrant® reports for financial crime risk management system:

Dev Dhiman, APAC Managing Director of GBG, commented, “The Chartis report clearly reflects the dichotomy that FIs face today in managing a rise in more complex and varied fraud typologies, higher false positives, and their reduced ability to perform manual investigations with remote working. Financial crimes have their regional specificity and uniqueness, which means that financial service providers across Asia Pacific require enterprise fraud and compliance solutions with the most effective automation, enhanced modelling, and data processing and management capabilities, tailored to their market.”

Sidhartha Dash, Research Director at Chartis Research, said, “GBG’s focus on Asian datasets from a financial crime risk management perspective is relatively unique and is one of the factors driving their strong positioning. GBG has combined a solid and broad technology framework with a focus on emerging Asia, leading to a position in the leadership pack.”

Dhiman continues, “Today, GBG is serving established banks and fintechs in APAC, including nine out of ten top tier banks in Malaysia, such as AmBank, four out of the seven BUKU 4 banks in Indonesia, global banks such as Citibank and HSBC, regional banks such as DBS, and new Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) operators such as the hummgroup in Australia. We are proud to be recognised as a Category Leader in enterprise fraud management by Chartis, which attests to the innovation, performance and fit of our solutions to a highly complex and diverse market in APAC.”

MoU Signed Between The Chinese University of Hong Kong Business School and Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 15 April 2021 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School and Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government, on 14 April 2021, for the establishment of CUHK Business School’s satellite campus at Luohu, Shenzhen. Prof. Lin Zhou, Dean of CUHK Business School and Mr. Zhiyong Liu, Deputy Secretary of District Commission and District Mayor of Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

CUHK Business School and Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government signed a MoU for the establishment of the School’s satellite campus at Luohu, Shenzhen.

Prof. Alan Chan, Provost of CUHK (Left) and Prof. Lin Zhou, Dean of CUHK Business School

In recent years, many Hong Kong universities have set up satellite campuses in the Pearl River Delta – including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and other areas – to provide high quality tertiary education in mainland China. CUHK is a pioneer in establishing a satellite campuse in mainland China with the founding of CUHK-Shenzhen at Longgang, Shenzhen in 2014. CUHK-Shenzhen has admitted students with the highest scores in the Guangdong province for five consecutive years. The establishment of CUHK Business School’s Shenzhen campus is an important next step in the development of higher education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Prof. Lin Zhou elaborated: “Currently, the satellite campuses of Hong Kong universities in the Pearl River Delta operate independently with their own faculty members and students, and teaching and research activities are undertaken with no synergy with their main campus. As it takes only about half an hour to travel by train between the two campuses at Shatin and Luohu, CUHK Business School at Luohu will thus adopt a new approach in operations. The School can arrange classes in either Shatin or Luohu for faculty members and students from Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas based on the course structure. Teaching and research can also be carried out in parallel at the two campuses. Under this new operating model, our students will get a thorough understanding of different industries in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and they can further their careers in these two cities after graduation. By immersing themselves in the business environment of Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and leveraging the resources from both governments and enterprises for research, our faculty members will become experts of both cities. These activities will also foster the integration of economic and business development of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.”

By signing the MoU, the Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government will support the establishment of CUHK Business School’s satellite campus at Shenzhen. The new facility not only allows the School to arrange teaching and learning activities for its existing programmes, but also enables the School to meet market demand by launching new programmes and training courses for senior executives. In the future, an internship base and incubation centre will also be set up to provide support to our undergraduate and postgraduate students for career planning and development in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. The Shenzhen campus can serve as a platform through which our faculty members can participate in research projects commissioned by the mainland Chinese government. With the Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government’s help, the School can reach out to businesses in Luohu and the Greater Bay Area to strengthen our collaboration with a wide range of corporations.

In his speech, Prof. Alan Chan, Provost of CUHK, noted: “Our thanks go out to Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government, for their recognition and support to CUHK. We look forward to working together in nurturing business leaders with a global mindset who can help reinforce the socio-economic development of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.”

Mr. Yude Luo, Secretary of District Commission of the Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government, echoed: “I hope the two parties will, in accordance with the principle of ‘resource sharing, complementary advantages, and win-win cooperation’, give full play to their respective strengths in fostering the collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong in areas such as higher education. We will work hand in hand to build a centre with global influence for nurturing innovation talents in the financial sector, as well as platforms for international research and advanced academic exchange, cultivating the Greater Bay Area’s talent development and intellectual support.”

The ceremony was witnessed by senior management/senior officials from both sides, including Prof. Tai-fai Fok, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Suk-ying Wong, Associate Vice-President; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Office of Academic Links (China) at CUHK; Prof. Waiman Cheung, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies); Prof. Michael Zhang, Associate Dean (Innovation and Impact); Prof. Seen-Meng Chew, Associate Dean (External Engagement); and Prof. Ming Liu, Director of the CUHK-Tsinghua MBA in Finance Programme at CUHK Business School; Mr. Defan Fan, Standing Committee Member of the District Commission and Executive Deputy District Mayor; Mr. Qiang Song, Deputy District Mayor; Mr. Xiaojian Zhou, Director of Development and Reform Bureau; and Mr. Gang Yin, Director of Education Bureau from the Shenzhen Luohu District People’s Government.

Jasa Sarjana equips newly launched Automated Rapid Transit system with Rivex Rikeguard antimicrobial film

Jasa Sarjana Sdn Bhd installs revolutionary antimicrobial technology to protect passengers of new urban transport system in Iskandar Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach – 15 April 2021 – Jasa Sarjana Sdn Bhd (“Jasa Sarjana”), the Malaysian official sole distributor of Japanese premium car window film brand, ICE-μ, played a part in the recent launch of Malaysia’s first ever Automated Rapid Transit (“ART”) system by equipping it with Rivex Rikeguard, Jasa Sarjana’s premium antimicrobial film.

Jasa Sarjana conducted an installation of Rivex Rikeguard antimicrobial film on the Iskandar Malaysia Bus Rapid Transit (“IMBRT”) test carriage that was officially launched on 8 April 2021. With this installation, Jasa Sarjana helps the ART system to keep its users safe by covering all high-traffic touch points such as handholds, door handles and railings with Rivex Rikeguard.

Due to the fact that viruses can survive on steel and glass surfaces for up to 5 days, public surfaces and touchpoints are a health concern, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help improve the safety of public surfaces, curb the spread of COVID-19, and protect the health of the public, Jasa Sarjana distributes Rivex Rikeguard, a revolutionary antimicrobial film made in Japan by their strategic partner Riken Technos Corporation.

Rivex Rikeguard is a unique protective film that is long-lasting and neutralises bacteria and viruses upon contact, ensuring that surfaces are safe to touch. By installing it on the ART system, Jasa Sarjana has equipped the new transportation system with premium health protection that is easily installed and exceptionally durable.

Rivex Rikeguard can be easily applied on any smooth, rigid surface and offers 24/7 protection which lasts for up to 10 years (subject to usage conditions) and remains reliable the whole time, unlike conventional cleaning measures such as sprays and wipes. With its unique design, 99.99% of various viruses and bacteria (including coronaviruses) are neutralised on contact, thanks to charged metal particles which generate active oxygen. This ensures that surfaces where Rivex Rikeguard is installed are safe to touch anytime and remain safe for a long period.

This film, which was originally developed and manufactured by Riken Technos, Japan’s number-one film manufacturer with over 60 years of experience as an industry leader in plastics and films, is widely used in Japan on major railways, ATMs, points of sale and vending machines. Its antimicrobial properties have also been rigorously lab-tested with the antimicrobial efficacy certified by ISO, SIAA Japan and SIRIM, surpassing the highest international standards while also complying with local requirements.

This installation was made possible by the partnership between Jasa Sarjana and Mobilus Sdn Bhd (“Mobilus”), Ireka Corporation Berhad’s Urban Transportation business. Mr David Lee, CEO of Jasa Sarjana Sdn Bhd, expressed his pride in participating in the ART system’s launch and his confidence that Rivex Rikeguard would help raise consumer confidence and protect the health of its passengers. Furthermore, the installation of Rivex Rikeguard plays a part in the Government’s public health efforts to protect the public and keep the number of infections under control at a time when the health of high-traffic locations is a safety issue.

Mr Chan Chee Kian, CEO of Mobilus, also agreed that keeping public surfaces clean and sanitary has become more important than ever, and voiced his confidence that the installation of the Rivex Rikeguard film will help to keep passengers safe while convincing them that the ART system and its surfaces are all protected from bacteria and viruses.

Jasa Sarjana was established in 2013 and has since been the sole distributor of ICE-μ window film products in Malaysia and the region.
