Vancouver, British Columbia – Newsfile Corp. – July 10, 2025 – Intrepid Metals Corp. (TSXV: INTR) (OTCQB: IMTCF) (“Intrepid” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce assay results from two additional diamond drill holes from the Ringo Zone as part of the ongoing 2025 drill program at the Company’s Corral Copper Property (“Corral” or the “Property“) in Cochise County, Arizona. To date, Intrepid has competed eleven drill holes (2813.2m meters) across the Ringo, Earp and Holliday zones, with a twelfth hole currently underway at the Ringo Zone (see Figure 1). These latest results continue to build on the encouraging mineralization identified in earlier drilling and further validate the potential of Corral as an emerging copper asset in a highly prospective district.

“Our 2025 drill campaign continues to deliver strong copper and gold results from the Ringo Zone,” said Ken Engquist, CEO of Intrepid Metals. “We’re especially encouraged by the success of our northern drilling extension, which is showing potential expansion of this mineralized zone. Beyond the impressive intervals of continuous, locally high-grade mineralization, we’re now seeing clear signs of a transition toward copper-gold porphyry-style systems. This reinforces Ringo’s potential as a shallow, bulk-minable porphyry target. And it’s just one of several newly identified porphyry centers within our rapidly advancing exploration program at Corral.”

Economic Geology of Corral

Precious and base metal mineralization at Corral is concentrated in structurally controlled northeast dipping siliciclastic and carbonate sedimentary rocks including (oldest to youngest) Cambrian Bolsa Quartzite, upper-Cambrian Abrigo Limestone, Devonian Martín limestone and Mississippian Escabrosa limestone and in Jurassic aged intrusions. The most intense mineralization occurs in the Abrigo Limestone (main host) and Bolsa Quartzite, which are intruded locally by a series of Jurassic (and possibly younger) mineralized intrusions including the Star Hill, Copper Bell and Sniveler porphyries, quartz latite sills, and cross-cutting mineralized breccia bodies.

The Corral Copper Property includes the Holliday, Earp and Ringo Zones (northwest to southeast), which are related zones of discontinuously outcropping, locally high grade CRD, skarn and distal porphyry related mineralization and associated supergene enrichment that formed in the distal porphyry copper geological environment. A significant component of Intrepid’s discovery strategy at Corral is to leverage distal alteration and mineralization to vector toward one or more mineralized porphyry copper centers (see News Release dated April 15, 2025).

The Ringo Zone is located at the southern end of a 3.5km long string of copper-gold-silver-zinc bearing carbonate replacement bodies (Figure 1). The Ringo Zone measures approximately 900m (northwest to southeast) by 800m (southwest to northeast) and contains favorable Abrigo Limestone (and Bolsa Formation), pre-mineral intrusions, alteration and copper-gold-silver-zinc replacement style mineralization and secondary enriched copper oxide zones that are locally high-grade.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Drill core was first reviewed by a geologist, who identified and marked intervals for sampling. The marked sample intervals were then cut in half with a diamond saw; half of the core was left in the core box and the other half was removed, placed in plastic bags, sealed and labeled. Intervals and unique sample numbers are recorded on the drill logs and the samples are sequenced with standards and blanks inserted according to a predefined QA/QC procedure. The samples are maintained under security on site until they are shipped to the analytical lab.

All core samples were sent to ALS Geochemistry (ALS), a division of ALS Global, in Tucson, Arizona, for sample preparation, with pulps sent to the ALS Geochemistry laboratory in Reno, Nevada for analysis. ALS meets all requirements of International Standards ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 for analytical procedures and is independent of the Company. HQ size core was split and sampled over approximately two metre intervals. Samples were analyzed using: ALS’s Fire Assay Fusion method (Au-AA23) with an AA finish for gold and by gravimetric finish (Au-GRA21) for samples assaying greater than 10 ppm (gpt) gold; by a 36-element four acid digest ICP-AES analysis (ME-ICP61) with additional analysis for Ore Grade Cu (Cu-OG62), Ore Grade Zn (Zn-OG62) and Ore Grade Pb (Pb-OG62); and for silver assays above 100 ppm (g/t) by Fire Assay Fusion method with gravimetric finish (Ag-GRA21). ME-ICP61 results were reported in parts per million (ppm), Ore Grade (OG62) results were reported in percent (%). In addition to ALS quality assurance- quality control (QA/QC) protocols, Intrepid implements an internal QA/QC program that includes the insertion of sample blanks, duplicates, and standards, with QA QC control samples comprising approximately 10% of the sample stream.

About Corral Copper

The Corral Copper Property, located near historical mining areas, is an advanced exploration and development opportunity in Cochise County, Arizona. Corral is located 15 miles east of the famous mining town of Tombstone and 22 miles north of the historic Bisbee mining camp which has produced more than 8 billion pounds of copper3. Production from the Bisbee mining camp, or within the district as disclosed in the next paragraph, is not necessarily indicative of the mineral potential at Corral.

The district has a mining history dating back to the late 1800s, with several small mines extracting copper from the area in the early 1900s, producing several thousand tons. Between 1950 and 2008, various companies explored parts of the district, but the effort was uncoordinated, non-synergistic and focused on discrete land positions and commodities due to the fragmented ownership. There is over 50,000m of historical drilling at Corral mainly centered on the Ringo, Earp and Holliday Zones and although this core has been destroyed, Intrepid has a historical digital drill hole archive database which the Company uses for the purposes of exploration targeting and drill hole planning. Intrepid, through ongoing exploration drilling and surface geological mapping, sampling and prospecting is increasing confidence in the validity of these data.

The Corral Copper Property is comprised of the Excelsior Property, the CCCI Properties, the Sara Claim Group and the MAN Property. The Company has completed the acquisition of the Excelsior Property and Sara Claim Group through purchase and sale agreements. The Company has the right to acquire the corporate group that holds the CCCI Properties through an option agreement. The Company has the right to acquire the MAN Property through an option agreement. See the “Commitments” section of the Company’s most recently filed Management Discussion and Analysis for further details.

Intrepid is confident that by combining modern exploration techniques with historical data and with a clear focus on responsible development, the Corral Copper Property can quickly become an advanced exploration stage project and move towards development studies.

Notes
1 Composite intervals are calculated using length weighted averages based on a combination of lithological breaks and copper, gold, silver and zinc assay values according to a 0.10% CuEq cutoff (see below) and include a maximum of 10 meters of internal dilution. All intervals reported are down hole core lengths, and true thicknesses have yet to be determined. Mineral resource modeling is required before true thicknesses can be estimated. Analyzed Grade corresponds composite weighted (“composites”) averages of laboratory analyses. Metal Equivalent assumes estimated recovery factors including 85% recovery for copper, and 80% recovery for gold, silver and zinc for reported composite intervals. Metal prices used for the CuEq and AuEq calculations are in USD based on Ag $22.00/oz, Au $1900/oz, Cu $3.80/lb, Zn $1.15/lb The following equation was used to calculate copper equivalence: CuEq = Copper (%) (85% rec.) + (Gold (g/t) x 0.71)(80% rec.) + (Silver (g/t) x 0.0077)(80% rec.) + (Zinc (%) x 0.28)(80% rec.). The following equation was used to calculate gold equivalence: AuEq = Gold (gpt)(80% rec.) + (Copper (%) x 1.4085)(85% rec.) + (Silver (gpt) x 0.0108)(80% rec.) + (Zinc (%) x 0.4188)(80% rec.). Analyzed metal equivalent calculations are reported for illustrative purposes only. The metal chosen for reporting on an equivalent basis is the one that contributes the most dollar value after accounting for assumed recoveries.

2 Data disclosed in this news release includes historical drilling results and information derived from historic drill results, Intrepid Metals has not undertaken any independent investigation of the sampling, nor has it independently analyzed the results of the historical exploration work to verify the results. Intrepid considers these historical data relevant as the Company is using this data as a guide to plan exploration programs. The Company’s current and future exploration work includes verification of the historical data through diamond drilling.

CGTN: Beauty in diversity: How wisdom at Nishan Forum inspires global modernization

BEIJING, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 10 July 2025 – As the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations takes place in east China’s Qufu City, CGTN published an article highlighting the importance of dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations to promote harmonious coexistence, shared prosperity, and the safeguarding of traditional values in the face of modern challenges.

CGTN lmage

“Is it not a joy to have friends come from afar?” This opening question and well-known saying from the Analects of Confucius has been transformed into a vivid reality as experts and scholars from across the world gathered at the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations in east China’s Qufu City.

The forum is named after Nishan Mountain, formerly known as the Ni Qiu Hill, about 30 kilometers southeast of Qufu – the birthplace of the great Chinese thinker and educator Confucius (551-479 BC). Since its first edition in 2010, the forum has become a platform for understanding China and fostering international cultural and civilizational exchanges.

Taking place from Wednesday to Thursday, the 11th Nishan Forum attracted more than 500 global leaders, scholars and cultural figures to explore the role of ancient wisdom in shaping the modern world with the theme of “Beauty in Diversity: Nurturing Understanding Among Civilizations for Global Modernization.”

Understanding among civilizations highlighted

Scholars at the forum underscored the essential role that cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations play in advancing human progress.

Noting armed conflicts have resurfaced in today’s turbulent world, Madagascar’s Ambassador to China Jean Louis Robinson spoke highly of the forum, saying that its role in promoting harmonious coexistence and shared prosperity among diverse cultures and civilizations has become all the more significant.

China-proposed Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) won praise from foreign participants. In March 2023, China introduced the GCI, which calls for respect for global civilizational diversity, the promotion of shared human values, the inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and the strengthening of international cultural exchanges.

Hussain Mohamed Latheef, vice president of the Republic of Maldives, described the GCI as a timely reminder of the need to respect and understand diverse cultures worldwide. “The initiative promotes shared human values, aims to balance tradition with innovation, and supports cultural exchange and development,” Latheef added.

Some of the experts spoke highly of the influence of Confucianism, which is known for its five key concepts, namely benevolence, or “ren” in Chinese, righteousness, or “yi,” propriety, “li,” wisdom, “zhi,” and trustworthiness, “xin.”

Dr Salome Nyambura, director of the Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University, told CGTN that close people-to-people exchanges between China and Kenya have made more Kenyans interested in Confucianism.

Echoing Nyambura, Riccardo Pozzo, professor of History of Philosophy at Tor Vergata University of Rome, said that Confucianism can provide valuable solutions to bridge traditional and modern issues and solve modern problems, citing the saying from the Analects that “If a man keeps cherishing his old knowledge and continually acquires new knowledge, he may become a teacher to others.”

Global modernization deeply rooted in fertile soil of civilizations

As well as fueling academic dialogue and people-to-people connections, exchanges among civilizations are also expected to generate valuable insights to tackle global challenges and open up diverse pathways for modernization.

China is committed to offering new opportunities to the world through the achievements of its unique path to modernization, and providing new momentum to global partners through its vast domestic market, Sun Chunlan, president of the International Confucian Association, said when addressing the opening of the forum.

China’s poverty alleviation efforts and global cooperation on poverty reduction have provided relevant examples, demonstrating that the development of civilization should be “people-oriented” and that the fruits of development can benefit more groups.

Wang Xuedian, vice president of the International Confucian Association, said that civilizations must engage in dialogue and mutual learning to explore development paths that align with their own cultural contexts.

By drawing on advanced productive forces and promoting traditional values, different civilizations can bridge developmental gaps and realize the common prosperity and harmonious coexistence of multiple civilizations, Wang added.

As for Latheef, humanity must work together to safeguard cultural traditions and values while embracing new ideas and changes to adapt to global modernization.

Roger T. Ames, professor emeritus of philosophy at the University of Hawaii and Humanities Chair Professor at Peking University, said that the urgent task is to transform individualism into a conscious awareness of a united global community, adding that the Confucian values of fairness, inclusiveness and harmony offer valuable guidance for addressing the pressing challenges of the modern world.

AI-Generated Media Drives Real-World Fraud, Identity Theft, and Business Compromise

Trend Micro uncovers the criminal playbook for deepfake-enabled cybercrime

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 10 July 2025 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global cybersecurity leader, today released a new report exposing the scale and maturity of deepfake-enabled cybercrime. As generative AI tools become more powerful, affordable, and accessible, cybercriminals are rapidly adopting them to support attacks, ranging from business fraud to extortion and identity theft.

To read the full report, Deepfake it ’til You Make It: A Comprehensive View of the New AI Criminal Toolset, please visit: https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/hk/security/news/cybercrime-and-digital-threats/deepfake-it-til-you-make-it-a-comprehensive-view-of-the-new-ai-criminal-toolset

The report shows how deepfakes have moved beyond hype into real-world exploitation, undermining digital trust, exposing companies to new risks, and accelerating the business models of cybercriminals.

Tony Lee, Head of Consulting, Hong Kong & Macau, at Trend: “AI-generated media is not just a future risk, it’s a real business threat. We’re seeing executives impersonated, hiring processes compromised, and financial safeguards bypassed with alarming ease. This research is a wake up call—if businesses are not proactively preparing for the deepfake era, they’re already behind. In a world where seeing is no longer believing, digital trust must be rebuilt from the ground up.”

The research found that threat actors no longer need underground expertise to launch convincing attacks. Instead, they are using off-the-shelf video, audio, and image generation platforms, many of which are marketed to content creators, to generate realistic deepfakes that deceive both individuals and organizations. These tools are inexpensive, easy to use, and increasingly capable of bypassing identity verification systems and security controls.

The report outlines a growing cybercriminal ecosystem where these platforms are used to execute convincing scams, including:

  • CEO fraud has become increasingly harder to detect as attackers use deepfake audio or video to impersonate senior leaders in real-time meetings.
  • Recruitment processes are being compromised by fake candidates who use AI to pass interviews and gain unauthorized access to internal systems.
  • Financial services firms are seeing a surge in deepfake attempts to bypass KYC (Know Your Customer) checks, enabling anonymous money laundering through falsified credentials.

The criminal underground is actively trading tutorials, toolkits, and services to streamline these operations. From step-by-step playbooks for bypassing onboarding procedures to plug-and-play face-swapping tools, the barrier to entry is now minimal.

As deepfake-enabled scams grow in frequency and complexity, businesses are urged to take proactive steps to minimize their risk exposure and protect their people and processes. This includes educating staff on social engineering risks, reviewing authentication workflows, and exploring detection solutions for synthetic media.Hashtag: #trendmicro #trendvisionone #visionone #cybersecurity

Vientiane Capital Approves Tap Water Price Increase

Vientiane Capital Approves Tap Water Price Increase. (Photo credit: Leo Okuyama on Unsplash)

On 9 July, the Vientiane Capital People’s Council approved a proposal to increase tap water prices, citing mounting production costs that have left the city’s water utility operating at a loss.

The approved plan calls for an adjustment to be implemented over three years from 2025 to 2028.

The decision follows a presentation by Bounyavath Nilasay, Head of the Vientiane Capital Department of Public Works and Transport, during the 9th Ordinary Session of the Vientiane People’s Council’s second legislature.

According to municipal authorities, the cost of producing tap water in Vientiane Capital now significantly exceeds the selling price due to escalating expenses for raw materials, chemicals, pipe equipment, electricity, and fuel, all compounded by currency exchange rate fluctuations.

These mounting costs have resulted in continuous financial losses for the Vientiane Capital Water Supply State Enterprise.

While water prices have remained static since 2014, the minimum wage has increased from LAK 950,000 (approx. USD 56) to LAK 2,500,000 (approx. USD 147) in 2025.

Therefore, the Vientiane Capital Water Supply State Enterprise has proposed and requested approval to adjust water usage tariffs for the period 2025-2027 as follows:

Tap Water Price Increase Plan (2025–2027) by the Vientiane Capital Water Supply State Enterprise.

Vientiane Capital encompasses nine districts and 481 villages, with the water supply system currently reaching 344 villages, representing 71 percent coverage. The remaining 137 villages, comprising 29 percent of the total, still lack access to piped water, primarily concentrated in Pakngum and Sangthong Districts.

The city’s water infrastructure consists of six water treatment plants with a combined production capacity of 348,000 cubic meters per day, supplemented by six smaller facilities in Sangthong district producing 2,610 cubic meters per day and four small plants in Pakngum district producing 2,300 cubic meters per day.

The revenue generated from the approved price increase is expected to fund significant infrastructure improvements, including doubling the number of water treatment plants  from six to twelve, upgrading aging infrastructure, and expanding access to 137 unserved villages.
