Vallisco Showcases Modern Door Trends for Global Living Spaces

SHANGHAI, July 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As architects and developers seek smarter ways to create open, functional, and visually compelling spaces, Vallisco, the global brand for high-performance doors and windows, shares insights from recent projects across Southeast Asia and Europe where modern door systems are playing a key role in shaping how spaces feel and function.

From villas and boutique hotels to greenhouses and guesthouses, Vallisco has observed firsthand how modern doors are no longer just aesthetic features — they are tools that influence light, flow, comfort, and connection. The brand’s design team identifies several architectural trends gaining traction in 2025.

Minimalist flush doors remain a strong choice for clients prioritizing clean lines and unobtrusive transitions between rooms. Their ability to disappear into walls makes them ideal for open-concept villas, hallways, and minimalist hotel suites.

Slim-frame sliding glass doors are in demand for maximizing natural light and blending indoor and outdoor areas. Vallisco notes their popularity in greenhouses, patios, and sun-filled living rooms where expansive views are a design priority.

For high-impact entrances, pivot doors offer both stability and presence. Whether installed in luxury villas or hospitality lobbies, their centered rotation delivers a smooth experience and bold architectural statement.

Frameless glass doors are helping clients achieve visual openness in tight layouts or modern bathrooms, while smart doors with digital locks are streamlining access control in short-term rentals and guesthouse developments.

Aesthetically bold and functionally versatile, black-frame industrial doors continue to define space without blocking light, especially in loft-style homes and adaptive reuse properties.

Additionally, bifold patio doors offer a full wall-opening effect that improves flow in restaurants, coastal resorts, and indoor-outdoor lounges.

For warmth and balance, timber-and-glass combination doors provide a natural feel without sacrificing light or privacy, while thermal break aluminum doors are improving insulation in villas located in hot or variable climates.

“Our clients aren’t just picking doors based on looks,” said Vallisco founder Gideon Ge. “They’re making decisions based on how the door affects daily movement, energy use, and even guest experience. That’s where Vallisco delivers — with modern systems that respond to both form and function.”

Xinhua Silk Road: Second “Taste of China” Global Specialty Green Coffee Bean Competition wraps up in Shanghai, revealing Chinese consumer preferences

BEIJING, July 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The second “Taste of China” Global Specialty Green Coffee Bean Competition concluded on Sunday in Shanghai, showcasing the taste preferences of Chinese coffee consumers to the global market.

Hosted by Hongqiao International Coffee Harbor, the two-day event evaluated about 82 premium coffee beans from 16 countries.

Unlike traditional Western or Southeast Asian markets, Chinese consumers have distinct preferences for green coffee beans. Despite a rapid surge in coffee imports in recent years, many overseas producers remain unfamiliar with these domestic tastes.

Since its debut, the competition has received strong support from the embassies and consulates of major coffee-producing countries in Shanghai, along with their respective specialty coffee associations.

This year’s event featured coffee beans from renowned coffee-growing regions such as Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, and Vietnam, emerging regions including Thailand, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Burundi, and China’s key producing areas like Yunnan and Hainan.

The judging panel included R&D and training heads from top coffee chains such as Luckin Coffee, Starbucks, and Cotti Coffee, national champions of brewing and cupping competitions, and coffee enthusiasts from across the country.

The result of the competition reflects Chinese consumer taste trends, providing valuable data for producers and roasters to better align with domestic market demands.

For the first time, the top ten coffees were auctioned both online and offline, attracting interest from roasters, café owners, and coffee enthusiasts.

In addition, the top 30 winning coffees are set to embark on a nationwide cupping tour across major cities in China. The final “Most Popular Coffee Award” will be announced after the tour, based on public feedback.

Hongqiao International Coffee Harbor, the competition organizer, currently partners with over 200 international coffee enterprises, sourcing products from 60 countries and generating over 3 billion yuan in annual trade.

Laos recorded an inflation rate of 5.3 percent in July, continuing a downward trend from 7.2 percent in June and 8.3 percent in May, according to recent government data.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 252.6 in July, up from 239.8 in the same month last year. On a month-to-month basis, the CPI rose by 0.5 percent compared to June.

Despite this improvement, the average inflation rate for the first seven months of 2025 remained high at 11 percent. The government expects inflation to fall into the single digits by the end of the year.

At a government meeting on 16 July, officials reported revenue of LAK 37,758 billion (approximately USD 1.8 billion), or 55 percent of the annual target. Government spending totaled LAK 28,223 billion (around USD 1.34 billion), representing 39 percent of the annual budget allocation.

As of mid-2025, foreign currency reserves were sufficient to cover 4.9 months of imports, with projections indicating this buffer will exceed five months going forward. Commodity prices have generally remained stable during this period.

Government officials stated they are closely monitoring commodity prices and exchange rates to mitigate the risk of sudden price spikes.

Despite recent improvements, global economic uncertainties and domestic supply chain issues continue to weigh on household confidence regarding the country’s economic outlook in the months ahead.
