Phemex Kicks off $7 Million Ultimate Championship, Bringing Trading Competition to Football Season

From June 8 to July 20, this tournament is designed into three distinct yet integrated competitive tracks to reward mastery at every skill level. The centerpiece of the event is the $6,000,000 Trading Showdown, a flagship arena where elite individuals and teams compete for dominance in execution and capital efficiency.

This is supported by the $900,000 Victory Rush, which incentivizes daily engagement through the collection of “Golden Balls” earned via trading milestones, and the $100,000 Super Prediction market, where participants can leverage their football insights to forecast match outcomes. By partitioning the rewards in this manner, Phemex ensures a comprehensive incentive structure that mirrors the multifaceted nature of professional sports.

In addition to USDT allocations, the championship features premium physical rewards designed to bridge the gap between trading and global gaming culture. Top performers have the opportunity to secure PlayStation 5 consoles and copies of FC26, while the most elite participants will vie for the ultimate trophy: a limited-edition 70g Golden Ball Cup. This physical prize serves as a tangible symbol of market mastery, reinforcing the prestige associated with navigating the global markets during one of the most volatile and exciting periods of the year.

“Major global events have always brought people together around competition, strategy, and shared anticipation,” said Federico Variola, CEO of Phemex. “We see similar dynamics in financial markets. The Ultimate Championship is designed to bring those worlds closer together by creating multiple ways for users to participate — whether through trading, forecasting, or community competition. More broadly, it reflects our view that the future of exchanges is not only about market access, but also about creating engaging environments where users can learn, compete, and express conviction in different forms.”

As global attention turns to football this summer, the 2026 Ultimate Championship highlights Phemex’s continued focus on building products and experiences that extend beyond conventional trading. The event is now open to eligible users worldwide, with competitions and rewards rolling out throughout the tournament period.

Chile Seeks to Expand Food and Agribusiness Partnerships with the Philippines

BANGKOK, June 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Chile is seeking to expand trade opportunities in fresh fruit, seafood, pork and wine with the Philippines following the successful conclusion of the Chile-ASEAN Business Summit 2026 in Bangkok.

Chile Seeks to Expand Food and Agribusiness Partnerships with the Philippines

Organised by ProChile, the summit brought together exporters, importers and industry leaders from across ASEAN to strengthen commercial ties and explore new business opportunities. Taking place at IMPACT Exhibition Center alongside THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026, the event welcomed 28 Chilean companies and generated more than 300 business meetings with buyers from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.

The Philippines has become an increasingly important market for Chilean exporters. In 2025, it ranked as Chile’s third-largest destination for agri-food exports within ASEAN, receiving nearly USD 66 million worth of Chilean products, a 26% increase from the previous year.

Growth has continued into 2026, with Chilean agri-food exports to the Philippines rising by nearly 53% during the first quarter, reflecting growing demand among Philippine importers and consumers.

According to Oscar Arriagada, ProChile Trade Commissioner for Thailand and the Philippines, the summit demonstrated strong potential for deeper commercial cooperation: “Although ProChile does not currently maintain a physical office in the Philippines, we work closely with the Chilean Embassy in Manila to strengthen commercial ties and identify new opportunities. This year, three Philippine importers participated in the Chile-ASEAN Business Summit, reflecting growing interest in Chilean products and creating a foundation for stronger long-term business relationships.”

Food products continue to drive bilateral trade. Pork remains Chile’s leading export category in the Philippine market, while seafood exports continue to grow. Wine also presents opportunities as demand for premium imported products expands.

Fresh fruit is expected to become a key growth area. Chile currently has phytosanitary access for a range of fruit varieties in the Philippines, including cherries, grapes, blueberries and kiwifruit.

“Fresh fruit is one of the most exciting opportunities for future growth. Chile already has market access for more than ten fruit varieties in the Philippines, yet awareness among buyers remains relatively limited and export volumes are still well below their potential,” said Arriagada.

Build with Chile.

US students discover common ground at Hainan exchange camp

HAIKOU, China, June 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A news report from chinadaily.com.cn:

China-US Youth People-to-People Exchange Camp is held in Haikou, Hainan province, on June 2-5, 2026.
China-US Youth People-to-People Exchange Camp is held in Haikou, Hainan province, on June 2-5, 2026.

As educational exchanges between China and the United States continue to regain momentum, educators and students from both countries are calling for deeper people-to-people engagement, saying firsthand cultural experiences help build understanding that extends far beyond the classroom.

That message emerged during the China-US Youth People-to-People Exchange Camp in Hainan province, where 26 students and teachers from Utah’s Box Elder School District spent five days learning alongside students from Hainan Normal University’s affiliated elementary school.

Participants said the exchange offered a valuable opportunity to challenge stereotypes and discover common ground.

“I think this program is important because having two different cultures learn about each other and meet together connects us all,” said Todd Schwab, a 15-year-old US student. “We’re not so separate just because we’re on different parts of the world.”

Seventeen-year-old Aida Schwab said the experience revealed both differences and similarities between the two societies.

“It was really cool experiencing things in Hainan. In the US, we would have never known what it’s like,” she said. “Seeing the similarities to our own culture, we’re not so different. Very similar, yet different.”

Matthew Taylor, a Chinese-language teacher from Box Elder School District, said the trip allowed students to apply years of classroom learning in a real-world setting. The visiting group included students aged 5 to 18 who have studied Chinese for between three and seven years.

“This trip to Hainan turns the words from textbooks into reality right before their eyes,” he said. “I hope to bring more students to China for cultural exchange.”

Taylor also said US educators can learn from Chinese teaching approaches, particularly in mathematics and classroom management.

“The US and China have different cultural ways of teaching, different beliefs in community and education,” he said. “As we share those, we can take the positive from each other and improve both education systems.”

Jordan Riley, leader of the Utah delegation, said youth exchanges play a unique role in strengthening mutual understanding.

“Walking side by side, these young people build understanding, friendship and mutual learning,” he said. “They inject warm and strong positive energy into bilateral relations.”

ADHD Among Hong Kong Schoolchildren Is Easily Mistaken as Being “Naughty, Lazy or Inattentive”

Seed Medical Reminds Parents: Early Identification Helps Reduce Learning, Emotional and Family Stress

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 9 June 2026 – In Hong Kong’s academically driven environment, when children show signs such as being distracted in class, procrastinating on homework, being unable to sit still, frequently interrupting others or acting impulsively, parents may easily interpret these behaviours as being “naughty”, “lazy” or “unwilling to try”. Seed Medical reminds parents that if such situations persist and have already affected a child’s learning, emotions, daily life or interpersonal relationships, parents should correctly understand Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and avoid relying solely on scolding or stricter discipline, which may delay the child’s opportunity to receive appropriate support.

ADHD Is a Common Childhood Neurodevelopmental Condition and May Continue Into Adolescence or Even Adulthood
Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common childhood neurodevelopmental condition. Its main presentations may include being easily distracted, unable to sit still and impulsive behaviours. According to information from Hong Kong’s mental health information platform Shall We Talk, the prevalence of ADHD among Hong Kong schoolchildren is similar to international figures, at approximately 5% to 9%. The U.S. CDC also notes that ADHD is usually diagnosed in childhood and may continue into adolescence or even adulthood; children may experience difficulties with attention, controlling impulsive behaviours or activity levels.

High Academic Pressure in Hong Kong May Amplify Symptoms and Increase Misinterpretation
Seed Medical points out that homework, dictation, tests, tutoring and school advancement pressure commonly seen in Hong Kong families may make ADHD-related difficulties more visible. At the same time, these pressures may also cause parents to attribute the issue solely to attitude or discipline. Some children may already be trying their best, yet still often get blamed because they have difficulty sustaining attention, frequently forget items, fail to remember instructions, act impulsively or are unable to remain seated.

In the long term, if the issue is not correctly recognised, children may gradually develop a sense of frustration and lowered self-confidence, which may also intensify parent-child conflict and family stress.

ADHD May Not Simply “Get Better With Age”; Emotions, Relationships and Family Dynamics May Also Be Affected
Many parents assume that ADHD only affects academic performance, or believe that children will “grow out of it naturally”. In reality, the impact of ADHD is not limited to classroom performance. It may also involve emotional regulation, interpersonal interaction, self-management and family relationships.

According to the UK National Health Service, symptoms of ADHD in children and young people may include difficulty concentrating, being unable to sit still and difficulty controlling impulses. Support may include adjustments at home and school, lifestyle arrangements and, where appropriate, medication.

When Should Parents Seek Professional Assessment? Four Warning Signs to Watch For
Seed Medical reminds parents that if teachers repeatedly report that a child has difficulty concentrating in class, cannot sit still, impulsively interrupts others or shows affected behavioural performance, or if parents notice persistent difficulties with homework, tests, daily arrangements and emotional state, they should avoid addressing the situation only through scolding, stricter discipline or asking the child to “try harder”.

If the situation has already affected the child’s learning performance, emotional health, interpersonal interaction or family relationships — for example, parent-child conflicts becoming increasingly frequent, or the child developing frustration, self-blame, lowered confidence or even resistance to attending school due to repeated criticism — parents are advised to seek professional medical advice early to understand whether further assessment and support are needed.

Parents may pay particular attention to the following four warning signs:

1. Classroom performance is persistently affected
Teachers repeatedly report that the child has difficulty concentrating in class, cannot sit still, often interrupts others or acts impulsively.

2. Learning and daily self-care show obvious difficulties
The child frequently experiences procrastination, omissions or confusion when handling homework, tests, packing a schoolbag, remembering instructions or completing daily tasks.

3. Emotional state and self-confidence decline
The child becomes easily frustrated, self-blaming, emotionally low, or develops resistance toward learning and attending school due to frequent criticism.

4. Parent-child conflict and family stress increase
The family frequently experiences conflict over homework, behaviour or daily rules, and both parents and the child feel significant stress.

Seed Medical recommends that if the above situations persist and have already affected the child’s learning, daily life or emotional state, parents should consider seeking assessment from child and adolescent psychiatry or relevant professionals, so as to understand the child’s needs early.

Treatment Is Not About Making a Child “Behave”, but About Helping Improve Core Difficulties
In terms of treatment, medication for ADHD is not intended to make a child “behave” or change their personality. Rather, under a doctor’s diagnosis and clinical judgement, it may help improve core symptoms such as attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity according to the child’s condition, making it easier for the child to participate in learning and manage behaviour and emotions.

Mayo Clinic Health System notes that common treatment approaches for childhood ADHD may include medication, behavioural therapy, counselling and educational support. The treatment goal is to reduce symptoms and related impact, and adjustments should be made according to individual circumstances.

Seed Medical currently provides child and adolescent psychiatry-related services, including ADHD-related clinical assessment, diagnostic recommendations, medication treatment assessment, follow-up consultations and treatment adjustment. The team recommends that if parents notice persistent impact on their child’s attention, behaviour, emotions or learning performance, they may first seek professional medical advice to understand the child’s actual needs before deciding on the appropriate direction of support.

DHL expands Asia Pacific data center logistics capabilities to support growing regional demand

  • DHL Supply Chain adds more than 160,000 sqm of dedicated warehousing capacity in Asia Pacific to meet rising demand for data centers
  • Enhanced capabilities include upskilling workforce in advanced white glove handling and investing in specialized technical services
  • Expansion directly responds to Asia Pacific’s rapid data center growth, with the region set to become the world’s next major data center hub, attracting approximately USD$800 billion (~€730 billion) investment by 2030

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 9 June 2026 – DHL Supply Chain (DHL) today announced the expansion of its data center logistics capabilities across the Asia Pacific region, strengthening its position as a strategic partner for hyperscalers and data center operators as AI investment accelerates and large-scale deployments move into execution.

DHL's investment in upskilling its workforce in advanced white glove handling and specialized technical services

The expansion includes more than 30,000 square meters of dedicated warehouse capacity currently in operation across Asia Pacific, with a further 130,000 square meters of committed expansion and built‑to‑suit development in Malaysia and Thailand scheduled to go live over the next two years. In total, DHL will support more than 160,000 square meters of data center logistics infrastructure across key markets in the region.

The expansion directly responds to Asia Pacific’s rapid data center growth, with the region projected to overtake the United States as the largest data center market globally by 2030. Driven by rising demand for AI, cloud services, and digital connectivity, data center operators face increasing pressure to manage tighter timelines, complex cross-border supply chains, and the movement of high-value equipment into active construction environments. With the data center logistics market increasing from $23 billion in 2025 to approximately $35 billion by 2030, these complex environments call for speed, security, and specialized handling, which DHL is well-positioned to support the entire data center life cycle.

“Market projections show Asia Pacific as the world’s next data center hub, with approximately USD$800 billion (~€730 billion) in data center investment expected across the region by 2030,” said Javier Bilbao, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain. “As the region enters this sustained phase of large-scale data center execution, customers need more than capacity; they need execution certainty. Our investments in dedicated infrastructure and advanced white glove capabilities are designed to deliver that certainty by combining precision, consistency, and speed in some of the region’s most demanding deployment environments.”

DHL’s expansion addresses these challenges by combining fully dedicated, high‑security warehousing with specialized service logistics solutions that support complex, multi‑phase deployment programs. A central pillar of the expansion is DHL’s investment in upskilling its workforce in advanced white glove handling and specialized technical services. This enables teams to shift critical preparation and integration work from live construction zones to controlled logistics environments.

White glove handling ensures servers, equipment and critical systems are moved under controlled conditions to reduce the risk of damage and delays. These capabilities oversee the full delivery process, from site survey reporting and route assessments to on-site preparation such as floor protection, cage management, and verification of part numbers. Installation and post reporting include rack installation, component verification, area cleaning, and completion reporting.

Specialized technical services further address the complexities of data center logistics. These services include server rack frame assembly, mounting components, intra-rack cabling, functional testing, and secure packaging to protect sensitive server equipment during transport. By building these technical skills in dedicated teams and completing these activities in purpose‑built logistics hubs, DHL helps customers reduce on‑site congestion, lower installation risk, and maintain build schedules, even as infrastructure density and deployment complexity increase.

The Asia Pacific expansion builds on DHL Group’s broader global investment in data center logistics, following a recent expansion of data center logistics infrastructure in North America. “Data center logistics is a strategic growth priority for DHL, driven by the rapid development of digital infrastructure and AI,” said Amanda Rasmussen, Chief Commercial Officer, DHL Global Forwarding and Head of the Data Center Logistics Taskforce at DHL Group. “Building on recent investments in North America and now expanding further in Asia Pacific, we are mobilizing capabilities across the Group to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions for every stage of the data center lifecycle. By drawing on our global network and specialist expertise, we enable customers to scale quickly, while ensuring the uptime, resilience and precision these complex operations demand.”

Together, these initiatives underscore DHL’s focus on data centers as a strategic growth sector and reinforce the Group’s ability to support customers with globally integrated, end-to-end logistics execution as digital infrastructure is scaled across regions.

Rhenus Group Sustainability Report 2025 highlights shift from groundwork to global performance

  • Centralised sustainability framework, SBTi commitment and EcoVadis Platinum status mark 2025 as a milestone for Rhenus Group
  • Operational progress includes safety improvements, high recycling rates and low-emission transport innovations such as the hybrid push barge Mannheim I+II
  • From 2026 onwards, Rhenus will increasingly focus on steering performance through clearer KPIs, stronger data and scalable sustainable service offerings
SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 9 June 2026 – Rhenus Group has published its Sustainability Report 2025, outlining how it has strengthened systems, governance structures and operational foundations needed to manage sustainability more consistently across its global organisation. The report positions 2025 as a significant year in the transition toward a more centralised, scalable and transparent Group-wide approach.

A key development in 2025 was the Group’s commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), supported by work on emissions baselines, target-setting methodologies and a more granular decarbonisation roadmap. With the report now externally verified, this also builds up the credibility of reported progress. External recognition of this progress was acknowledged with the EcoVadis Platinum status, an important milestone in the Group’s sustainability journey. Over the past year, sustainability at Rhenus has moved from a set of individual initiatives to a more integrated way of operating across the Group. The report details this integration by highlighting the continued development of a unified emissions database, expanded reporting structures and dashboard testing to improve transparency and decision-making.

“2025 marked a decisive step forward in how we manage sustainability at Rhenus,” said Dr. Joana Baetz, Member of the Board responsible for HR, Sustainability and Compliance. “Today, we operate with an integrated and harmonised Group-wide system that enables us to manage performance consistently, transparently, and at scale. Our EcoVadis Platinum rating reflects this level of maturity. Building on this strong foundation, our focus is now on actively using this system to steer decisions, track progress through clear KPIs, and strengthen accountability across the organisation.”

The report also sets out how sustainability is becoming more visible in day-to-day operations. One example is the hybrid push barge Mannheim I+II, which can reduce CO₂ and NOx emissions by up to 72 percent in daily operation compared with conventional propulsion systems. When operated with HVO100, emissions reductions can reach up to 90 percent. The vessel is designed for operational flexibility and resilience on key Rhine routes, including at low water levels.

Beyond climate-related measures, the report shows progress in workplace safety and resource management. In 2025, Rhenus recorded zero fatalities. The lost time injury frequency rate improved to 9.70 from 13.8 in 2024, while the lost time injury severity rate improved to 18.10 from 20.10. In waste management, the Group generated 106,449 tons of waste, of which 98,237 tons were diverted from disposal and 98,029 tons were recycled. These figures reflect the role of sustainability not only in long-term climate ambition, but also in operational discipline and risk management.

The Sustainability Report 2025 also highlights progress in social and governance structures. Rhenus introduced updated global Social Policies, continued the rollout of Workday as the Group’s platform for Social KPIs, and advanced modernisation of its Compliance Management System with revised or formalised Group-wide policies covering anti-corruption, antitrust and whistleblowing. Together, these developments support a more unified ESG management model throughout the Group.

Juthaporn Srinang, Group Director of Sustainability at Rhenus, emphasises: “We now have a much clearer basis to work from, particularly in data quality, governance and in how we connect sustainability to our operations. With our report now also independently assured and aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, we have further strengthened transparency and reliability. The next step is to translate this into action that can be scaled across the business and applied consistently to how we serve our customers.”

Looking ahead, Rhenus states that from 2026 onwards its focus will increasingly shift from building systems to using them more actively to steer performance, track progress through clearer KPIs and expand sustainable services in a more market-ready way. This gives the report a forward-looking narrative: 2025 was the year of building the foundation, while the next phase is about transforming that foundation into measurable business and customer value.

Laos Releases Dengue-Blocking Mosquitoes in Savannakhet

a picture of Wolbachia mosquitoes being prepared to be released at the ceremony at Kaysone Phomvihane City, Savanakhet, Laos on 9 June. (Photo by Sabaidee Wolbachia Laos)

On 9 June, Savannakhet Province launched its first bacteria-enhanced mosquito release program, becoming the latest province to join Laos’ expanding effort to curb dengue transmission.

The launch took place in Kaysone Phomvihane City as part of the Driving Down Dengue in Laos project, led by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the World Mosquito Program (WMP). Releases will cover 22 villages across more than 21,600 households.

The program uses mosquitoes carrying Wolbachia, a naturally occurring bacteria found in many insects. When introduced into Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the primary carriers of dengue, the bacteria reduces their ability to transmit the virus. The same method also blocks the spread of Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever. Health officials say the mosquitoes are not genetically modified and pose no risk to people, animals, or the environment.

The expansion builds on earlier deployments in Vientiane Capital, where authorities released large numbers of Wolbachia mosquitoes across all nine districts in August 2025. Previous releases in two Vientiane districts helped protect around 86,000 residents, with community acceptance reaching 99 percent.

WMP plans to scale up releases beyond Vientiane Capital and Savannakhet to Oudomxay, Luang Prabang, and Champasak this month, aiming to protect more than 1.2 million people nationwide.

The push comes as dengue continues to challenge public health across Laos.

The Ministry of Health recorded over 1,300 cases with no deaths as of mid-May this year. Last year saw nearly 12,000 cases, following a harder 2024 that brought more than 20,000 infections and over a dozen deaths. Though case numbers have trended downward, dengue remains endemic throughout the country.

Officials say the Wolbachia method offers a long-term, community-based solution that works alongside existing prevention measures such as mosquito fogging and public awareness campaigns.
