IBM Releases a New Blueprint for Quantum-Centric Supercomputing

  • New reference architecture outlines a practical, scalable path for combining quantum and classical computing
  • Scientific breakthroughs in chemistry, materials science, and molecular simulation are pushing beyond the limit of classical computing driven through quantum-centric approach
  • IBM’s architecture brings quantum and classical computing together through open software and coordinated workflows

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y., March 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — IBM (NYSE: IBM) today unveiled the industry’s first published quantum‑centric supercomputing reference architecture, a new blueprint for integrating quantum computing into modern supercomputing environments. The architecture shows how quantum processors (QPUs) can work alongside GPUs and CPUs—across on‑premises systems, research centers, and the cloud—in order to tackle scientific challenges that no single computing approach can solve on its own.

IBM_Releases_a_New_Blueprint

Designed for today’s workloads and built to evolve over time, the architecture brings quantum and classical systems together into a unified computing environment. It combines quantum hardware with powerful classical infrastructure, including CPU and GPU clusters, high‑speed networking, and shared storage, to support computationally intensive workloads and algorithms research.

On top of this foundation, IBM’s approach enables coordinated workflows that span quantum and classical computing. Integrated orchestration and open software frameworks, including Qiskit, allow developers and scientists to access quantum capabilities through familiar tools and workflows—making it easier to apply quantum computing to problems in areas such as chemistry, materials science, and optimization.

“More than four decades ago, Richard Feynman envisioned computers that could simulate quantum physics,” said Jay Gambetta, Director of IBM Research and IBM Fellow. “At IBM, we’ve spent years turning that vision into reality. Today’s quantum processors are beginning to tackle the hardest parts of scientific problems—those governed by quantum mechanics in chemistry. The future lies in quantum-centric supercomputing, where quantum processors work together with classical high-performance computing to solve problems that were previously out of reach. IBM is building the technology and systems that brings this future of computing into reality today.”

Scientists are already using IBM’s quantum-centric architecture to deliver accurate results for real experiments. Recent results represent some of the strongest evidence yet that quantum computers combined with classical computing workflows can be used to accelerate scientific discovery:

  • Researchers from IBM, the University of Manchester, Oxford University, ETH Zurich, EPFL, and the University of Regensburgcreated a first‑of‑its‑kind half‑Möbius molecule, verifying its unusual electronic structure with a quantum-centric supercomputer published in Science.
  • Cleveland Clinic simulated a 303‑atom tryptophan‑cage mini‑protein, one of the largest molecular models ever executed on a quantum-centric supercomputer.
  • A team from IBM, RIKEN, and the University of Chicagouncovered the lowest‑energy state of engineered quantum systems, outperforming state-of-the-art classical‑only approaches.
  • RIKEN and IBM scientists achieved one of the largest quantum simulations of iron‑sulfur clusters, a fundamental molecule in biology and chemistry, through closed loop data exchange between a co-located IBM Quantum Heron processor and all 152,064 classical compute nodes of RIKEN’s Fugaku supercomputer.
  • Algorithmiq, Trinity College Dublin, and IBM collaborators published methods in Nature Physics to accurately simulate many-body quantum chaos systems, such as collections of atoms and electrons, using classical compute resources for noise mitigation.

These results confirm the ability of IBM’s quantum computers to deliver value to scientific problems.

As new quantum‑centric algorithms emerge, IBM’s global ecosystem of clients and partners will continually evolve this architecture to support sophisticated resources, networks and software capabilities. For example, IBM and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are improving how workflows can be seamlessly scheduled and orchestrated across quantum and high-performance computing resources. Deploying new algorithms on top of this maturing architecture will drive the next wave of applications in chemistry, materials science, optimization, and beyond, poising them to scale exponentially.

MEXC Women in Workforce Data: Leading with 43% Female Representation and 49% YoY Growth

VICTORIA, Seychelles, March 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In the wake of International Women’s Day, MEXC, —the fastest-growing global cryptocurrency exchange redefining the user-first approach to digital assets through true zero-fee trading—released its inaugural women in the workforce data. The figures span representation, leadership, hiring growth, technical contribution, and retention.

MEXC Women in Workforce Data: Leading with 43% Female Representation and 49% YoY Growth
MEXC Women in Workforce Data: Leading with 43% Female Representation and 49% YoY Growth

Women make up 43% of MEXC’s total workforce — some 15 percentage points above the global technology industry average of 28%. At the management level, 40% of roles are held by women, with 15 in senior leadership positions. The distance between broad representation and decision-making authority — often where equity commitments quietly dissolve — is narrow at MEXC.

The hiring trajectory reinforces this: female hires have grown 49% year-on-year over three years, across 411 employees spanning APAC, EU, MENA, and LATAM. This is not growth concentrated in any single market or function — it is consistent, global, and accelerating.

Perhaps the most telling figure is the 85% post-maternity return-to-work rate, In an industry where research shows only 13% of mothers consider a full-time return after maternity leave viable, it points less to policy than to infrastructure — an environment where career continuity is the norm, not the exception.

Within the technical workforce, 195 women hold core roles in engineering and product. The platform ties this to the wider shortage of STEM and blockchain education pathways and says it will target the problem with dedicated research and financial literacy programs.

MEXC is committed to going further. Formalising wage equality confirmation and expanding visibility for women at global industry forums are priorities on its active agenda — the next markers on a trajectory that the data published today has begun to chart. The data published today is a baseline, not a verdict, and forms part of a commitment to annual disclosure.

The digital asset industry is still at a stage where its norms are being written. MEXC’s view is that equitable access to opportunity, resources, and advancement within that industry should not be contingent on gender. The work that underpins that view is ongoing.

The full Workforce Report is available here.

VinFast and the Rise of a New Gulf Lifestyle

As Gulf cities hardwire sustainability into daily life, VinFast is shaping an electric lifestyle that feels like a smart, seamless routine, with its climate-ready design, long-term warranty confidence and software-driven convenience woven into everyday driving.

DUBAI, UAE – Media OutReach Newswire – 12 March 2026 – Over the past five years, GCC countries have made EV adoption a clear priority. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy and Qatar’s National Vision 2030 have moved from policy language to pavement. Master-planned districts in Riyadh are wired for electric charging from day one. Residential towers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi market EV-ready parking as a premium amenity. In Doha and Manama, public chargers now stand in mall basements and along waterfront boulevards, quietly normalizing a different way to refuel.

VF 8

With that, a new lifestyle is taking shape. The clearest sign is how refueling is moving into the home, often happening quietly overnight. In the not-so-distant future, some drivers may struggle to recall the last time they stood beside a pump in the heat, watching the numbers climb under fluorescent lights.

Into this transition steps VinFast, a young global brand intent on making those new habits stick. Its focus is to make the interactions around them feel at least as convenient as traditional ownership, if not more so. In other words, to make EV living workable at scale, for everyone.

The VF 8 sits at the center of that effort. Fine-tuned for Gulf conditions, it pairs vegan leather seating with ventilation and heating functions suited to dramatic seasonal swings. Dual-zone climate control integrates air-quality management and ionization, a practical feature in cities where dust storms are not rare events. The cabin is anchored by a large 15.6-inch infotainment display, sized generously enough that drivers are not left squinting at navigation prompts or climate settings mid-traffic.

More subtly, the VF 8 encourages new expectations around what a car should do. Over-the-air update capability allows the vehicle’s software to improve over time. Driver profiles synchronize settings and climate preferences, useful in households where one vehicle rotates between work commutes, school runs and weekend trips. Smart modes such as pet mode and camp mode extend the car’s role beyond transport, accommodating both urban density and the region’s fondness for desert getaways.

VinFast has also worked to address the psychological side of the green transition. An expectation-surpassing element of the VinFast ownership experience is its warranty package: a 10-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, a 10-year unlimited battery warranty and five years of free maintenance up to 100,000 kilometers, all structured to make durability and cost predictability part of the standard equation rather than an added extra. A recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with PlusX Electric in the UAE focuses on portable charging pods, on-demand mobile charging and emergency roadside support.

Taken together, these elements frame sustainability as simply another way of moving through the world, rather than an act of sacrifice, and arguably a more efficient one at that. Fewer service visits. Predictable maintenance costs. Charging woven into the domestic routine.

Across the Gulf, greener living is unfolding in just that manner. The progress can be gradual, almost mundane, yet it is unmistakably forward. VinFast’s role is to ensure that when a driver chooses electric mobility, the surrounding experience feels stable, supported and suited to regional realities.

Focus Graphite Advances Lac Knife Infrastructure Planning with Road and Power Evaluation; Chairman Converts $500,000 Loan to Equity

Preliminary access road and powerline assessment strengthens development pathway and highlights emerging logistics advantage under Quebec’s northern infrastructure buildout

Ottawa, Ontario – Newsfile Corp. – March 12, 2026 – Focus Graphite Inc. (TSXV: FMS) (OTCQB: FCSMF) (FSE: FKC0) (“Focus” or the “Company“) a Canadian developer of high-grade flake graphite deposits and advanced graphite materials for battery, defence, and industrial applications, is pleased to announce that it has engaged Norda-Stelo (“Norda“), a leading Canadian engineering firm specializing in infrastructure design, transportation engineering and energy systems, to conduct corridor selection and preliminary evaluation of access road and electrical infrastructure options for its Lac Knife Graphite Project (“Lac Knife” or the “Project“) in Quebec.

Formerly known as Groupe-Conseil Roche, Norda has extensive experience supporting infrastructure development across Quebec, including work associated with the broader Highway 389 corridor. The work will be coordinated from Norda’s Saguenay—Chicoutimi office and will be conducted under the supervision and management of IOS Geosciences Inc. (“IOS“), the Company’s geological consultant and general contractor for the Project.

The mandate includes identifying and recommending optimal corridor for a new all-season access road linking the Project site to the newly upgraded section of Quebec’s Highway 389, currently under reconstruction a few kilometres north of the Project as part of the province’s northern infrastructure strategy. The mandate also includes evaluating the optimal corridor for the construction of a private powerline connection.

The study will include:

  • Final corridor selection for a year-round gravel access road of approximately 6-10 kilometres
  • Preliminary geotechnical, hydrological and environmental planning
  • Conceptual design of an approximately 30-kilometres private 35.5-kilovolt powerline
  • Evaluation of grid connection options to Hydro-Quebec’s Normand or Bloom Lake substations

The engineering evaluation is expected to be delivered by the end of May 2026, enabling environmental baseline work and geotechnical surveys to be conducted during the summer 2026 field season. Permanent site access and reliable electrical power will be critical for future development phases of the Project, including the construction and operation of a planned pilot-scale processing facility.

“Infrastructure is fundamental to the long-term development of Lac Knife. As we advance the project toward future permitting and development activities, establishing reliable road and power access strengthens our logistical advantage and reinforces the project’s potential to supply high-grade graphite to North American and international battery, defence and advanced materials supply chains,” said Dean Hanisch, Chief Executive Officer of Focus Graphite.

The Company believes the ongoing modernization of Quebec’s Highway 389 corridor represents a significant infrastructure catalyst for the Project. While Lac Knife is currently accessible by vehicle via existing unmaintained dirt roads and trails, including the historical Comstock-Mazarin route, these routes are not designed for large-scale, year-round industrial operations and may become difficult to access during winter months.

A permanent access road connecting Lac Knife to the upgraded Highway 389 corridor would provide year-round transportation access for personnel and equipment, improved mine construction logistics, safer and more reliable workforce mobility, and efficient shipment of graphite concentrate toward downstream processing facilities and global markets.

Highway 389 is currently being modernized under Quebec’s Route 389 Improvement Program, led by the Ministere des Transports et de la Mobilite durable (MTMD) and supported by the Societe du Plan Nord. The Quebec Infrastructure Plan 2025-2035 lists the project among the province’s major northern infrastructure investments, with approximately $493 million allocated to reconstruction work between Fire Lake and Fermont, with construction continuing through the coming decade.

The corridor forms a key transportation link across Quebec’s Cote-Nord and Labrador Trough mining region, connecting resource projects to industrial infrastructure and the deep-water port of Baie-Comeau, approximately 520 kilometres south of Lac Knife.

The Company has applied for federal and provincial infrastructure funding programs related to the proposed access road and powerline development and is currently awaiting the results of those applications. The Company believes the scope of work aligns with government priorities supporting critical minerals development, northern infrastructure investment, secure battery, defence and advanced material supply chains, and regional economic development.

Chairman Converts Portion of Loan to Equity

The Company is also pleased to announce that Chairman Jeff York has initiated the conversion of a portion of his longstanding loan to the Company into equity, reinforcing his continued commitment to Focus Graphite.

Over the years, Mr. York, through his holding company JJJY Holdings Inc., has provided C$1,335,000 in private financing to the Company. As part of this ongoing support, Mr. York has elected to convert C$500,000 of this loan into 1,388,889 common shares of the Company at a price of C$0.36 per share.

The shares-for-debt transaction remains subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.
