Discover the Powerful Impact of VORTEX: 80% Reduction in Vandalism
TAIPEI, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sun Outdoors Ocean City, located in Maryland, is a popular campground that attracts a steady flow of visitors each season. With its expansive grounds and over 300 private campsites, the campground faced several challenges in managing security. Traditional surveillance methods proved inefficient, leading to false alarms and difficulties in tracking incidents such as lost children, vandalism, misplaced items, or occasional adventurous guests.
VIVOTEK has deployed its VORTEX cloud security solution at Sun Outdoors Ocean City, Maryland, enhancing the overall safety of the campground.
Challenges
As the campground grew in size and guest volume, Sun Outdoors realized that traditional surveillance systems were no longer sufficient, leading to four key challenges over the years:
Wide/Private Areas: With expansive grounds and numerous private campsites, it was difficult for staff to effectively monitor all areas of the campground.
Vandalism & Lost Items: Vandalism and the occasional theft of personal items or equipment were persistent issues.
Limited Staff: The campground struggled with insufficient staff to manage security and guest safety, especially during peak season when extra workers were needed. Additionally, there was a lack of IT experts to handle the complex security systems.
False Alarms: Previous security systems triggered frequent false alarms, leading to inefficiencies and distractions from real threats.
With a diverse mix of families and outdoor enthusiasts, ensuring guest safety while maintaining efficient operations was crucial. They needed a solution that would address both security and operational challenges—while being easy to set up, cost-effective, and providing real-time visibility without requiring additional manpower or expensive infrastructure upgrades.
Solution – Why Choose VORTEX
To address security challenges, Maloney Telecom, a trusted leader in surveillance solutions, has partnered with VIVOTEK, a leading global security solution provider, to deploy its VORTEX Cloud Surveillance Platform at Sun Outdoors Ocean City. The seamless cloud-based solution provides real-time monitoringand AI-driven insights, enhancing overall safety and operational efficiency.
Reduced Vandalism by Over 80%: By leveraging advanced AI-driven insights and precise detection, VORTEX minimized false alarms, allowing staff to focus on real threats.
Easy Setup and Bandwidth-Friendly: The system was fully operational in just 30 minutes using Sun Outdoors’ existing Wi-Fi network, offering immediate security improvements without the need for complex infrastructure changes.
$2,000 in Operational Cost Savings: In just two months, VORTEX helped Sun Outdoors eliminate the need for extra staff to monitor security. The AI-powered system also reduced costs related to false alarms.
Real-Time Monitoring: VORTEX’s cloud-based platform provided Sun Outdoors with the ability to remotely monitor security, offering real-time alerts for suspicious activities or perimeter breaches, and giving management better control over the entire campground.
Instant Search and Accountability: VORTEX’s Deep Search feature allowed staff to quickly locate specific events or individuals, enhancing response times to incidents such as lost children/golf car, stolen items, or suspicious behavior.
Real-Time Deterrents with Network Speakers: VORTEX’s network speakers provided immediate deterrents for disruptive guests, effectively managing crowds and preventing unsafe behavior in shared spaces like bathhouses.

BEIJING, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Fourier unveiled GR-3, its first full-size “Care-bot” and the latest entry in its GRx humanoid series. Designed not just for functionality but for emotional connection, GR-3 introduces a new class of AI robots created for human-centrics scenarios. Guided by the philosophy “Love, above all functionality,” GR-3 redefines how humans interact with machines. Its soft-touch outer shell and multimodal emotional interaction system bring the concept of “warm tech companionship” to life—bridging the gap between mechanical utility and emotional presence.
Fourier unveiled GR-3, its first full-size “Care-bot” and the latest entry in its GRx humanoid series.
Beyond Function: A Humanoid Designed to Care
GR-3 represents a step forward from traditional utility-focused robots. Designed with a focus on human-centered service, Fourier introduces new concept of the “Care-bot”—a machine built not just to perform tasks, but to form connections.
The Care-bot concept is built around two primary roles. As a social companion, GR-3 is designed to engage with people in public settings. It can act as a service assistant, a comforting presence for children, or a responsive companion for older adults.
In the future, GR-3 is expected to expand into assistive care. Potential applications include mobility support, health monitoring, and physical rehabilitation in eldercare or clinical settings.
With GR-3, Fourier moves closer to its vision of a robot that not only works—but also cares.
Engineering Warmth: Soft Design, Smart Technology
GR-3 departs from traditional industrial aesthetics, embracing a softer, more lifelike appearance. Its warm, neutral tones, cushioned surfaces, and premium automotive upholstery create a friendly, approachable presence designed for everyday human interaction.
Designed with a focus on human-centered service, Fourier introduces new concept of the “Care-bot”—a machine built not just to perform tasks, but to form connections.
Standing 165 centimeters tall and weighing 71 kilograms, GR-3 offers up to 55 degrees of freedom. Its compact, modular architecture integrates essential sensors and computing units while maintaining a clean, streamlined exterior. Expressive design features—such as balanced limb proportions, fluid movement, and an animated facial interface—work together to foster user comfort and trust.
Equipped with a hot-swappable battery system and intelligent power management, GR-3 supports uninterrupted, around-the-clock operation in real-world environments.
Multimodal Perception: A New Standard in Emotional Interaction
GR-3 is equipped with Fourier’s proprietary Full-Perception Multimodal Interaction System, integrating vision, audio, and tactile feedback into a unified real-time emotional processing engine.
GR-3 is equipped with Fourier’s proprietary Full-Perception Multimodal Interaction System, integrating vision, audio, and tactile feedback into a unified real-time emotional processing engine.
Powered by an advanced attention management system, the robot dynamically prioritizes sensory inputs and synchronizes multimodal outputs to deliver smooth, humanlike responses:
Audio Perception: A four-microphone array enables omnidirectional voice activation, echo cancellation, and precise sound source localization. GR-3 orients toward speakers with synchronized eye contact, enhancing natural vocal interaction.
Visual Recognition: The robot’s RGB and structured-light camera module provides reliable facial recognition and dynamic tracking, keeping users within GR-3’s expressive visual field.
Tactile Feedback: Thirty-one distributed pressure sensors enable real-time touch detection. Combined with animated micro-expressions—including blinking, eye tracking, and emotion-triggered gestures—GR-3 responds to touch with lifelike social cues.
The dual-path response architecture supports both rapid reflexive actions (“fast thinking”) via rule-based control and deep contextual understanding (“slow thinking”) powered by a large language model for complex, situational dialogue generation.
GR-3 interprets emotion, recognizes intent, and responds with awareness—bridging the gap between perception and connection.
Built to Empower: A Softer Presence of Intelligent Agents
Beyond emotional intelligence, GR-3 features enhanced hardware and character-rich locomotion—enabling more intuitive and lifelike interactions at every touchpoint.
Drawing on training data and market feedback from its predecessors, the whole-body structure of GR-3 has been redesigned for greater flexibility and a more compact form. It features Fourier’s high-performance actuators and 12-DoF dexterous hands, supporting a wide range of tasks from interaction and navigation to practical assistance.
GR-3 delivers versatile motion capabilities, with a standard walking gait that supports bending and squatting. It enables agile movement in complex environments and seamless multi-task collaboration. It can shift between various modes, from a straight-leg gait and running to an energy-saving “fatigue mode” and a lively “bouncy walk” for dynamic scenarios.
Fourier prioritizes developer experience. Built as an embodied intelligence platform, GR-3 supports a wide range of algorithms and third-party applications. Its client-server architecture allows researchers, automation engineers and AI developers to get started quickly and tailor functions for real-world use. Fourier will introduce interaction APIs to further lower the barrier to entry and enable more personalized, emotionally responsive applications.
Where Connection Matters: A Breakthrough of Humanoid Innovation
GR-3 marks a new phase in Fourier’s pursuit of human-robot integration. Every aspect of its design—from hardware architecture to software framework—was shaped by a key question: Can a robot be genuinely accepted in human environments?
GR-3 is built to support meaningful interaction across diverse real-world settings, from public services and academic research to clinical use and, eventually, personal spaces.
As Fourier’s most advanced response to date, GR-3 goes beyond performance. It’s built to support meaningful interaction across diverse real-world settings, from public services and academic research to clinical use and, eventually, personal spaces. Designed to operate alongside people, the robot adapts to evolving needs and complex environments.
DUBAI, UAE, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, released a comprehensive crypto insights report covering key aspects and lasting impact of the “ambitious regulatory framework” by the U.S. SEC, under the leadership of the new chairman Paul Atkins: Project Crypto.
The report summarizes Project Crypto’s global ambition and the potential paradigm shifts across sectors under the Project. While uncertainty and decentralized challenges of crypto have long been identified, it is the first time the SEC has taken on the challenging task of consolidating regulatory regimes and integrating critical digital asset infrastructure into the broader economy and technology layer.
Key Insights
Regulations—making it make sense: Project Crypto attempts to resolve the prolonged issue of legal definitions, and thereby, applicable rules and regulators for the digital asset class. If successful, a single licensing regime, clarity on DeFi, and compliant acceleration of tokenization will allow distributed ledger technology to truly disrupt the current financial order for the better.
Deep market impact: The report highlights three areas of interest for analysts, including the institutionalization and standardization of real-world asset tokenization, influence on the global crypto regulatory landscape as the American model cascades to other jurisdictions, and the predictable inflow of VC capital into blockchain and crypto innovation.
Risk factors beyond the tech: The pressure is on for the SEC and the current administration, and Project Crypto could be the make-or-break moment for crypto’s metamorphosis into the future of finance. The sweeping program does face a wide range of political, technological, and market risks in the medium term.
As a leading global authority in technology and finance, the U.S. continues to set the standard across multiple sectors, with cryptocurrency representing a particularly competitive arena. The impact of this landmark project will be both global and enduring.

Among the featured creators, photographer, videographer, and content creator, Forrest Funk, draws inspiration from the natural world. In his image of Kebler Pass, golden light leads the viewer’s eye through a vibrant cascade of foliage, capturing the organic rhythm of the landscape.
Shifting from nature to craftsmanship, Chris Ha, an award-winning travel photographer, highlights the artistry of human hands. His photo of a Vietnamese artisan swirling blue fishing nets mirrors the gentle motion of water, drawing viewers into a meditative moment of focused, purposeful work.
Exploring the subtle beauty of daily life, visual storyteller Ashraful Arefin captures the graceful flow of liquid and steam as a man pours hot tea. The image reveals how even the simplest routines can reflect elegance, rhythm, and flow.
Bringing a more atmospheric perspective, digital artist Sara Pardo Vázquez presents a tranquil composition where light, air, and nature align. Her piece captures a fleeting moment of harmony, reflecting the ephemeral essence of FLOW in the present.
